I know most people recommend the rapier, but will it really work for me at bandos and pvp, the two main things I will be using it for? Remember I don't have turmoil or overloads.

Can I have a little more input and some other people's opinions? I still haven't decided even though I have the tokens.

Yeah I'll get 70 prayer soon and work on summoning as it comes, but dungeoneering was fun for me which is the reason I play the video game in my spare time. It's just nice that I get one of the better weapons in the game now.

There is obviously many topics about the debate between the chaotic rapier and the chaotic longsword and I don't mean to be repetitive. However, many of these people are factoring in overloads and turmoil in their debate. I have 52 prayer and 50 or so herblore and really don't plan to raise these anytime soon (although I would obviously like to). My main stats include; 99 Attack 96 Strength 71 Defense 94 Hits 52 Prayer 50 Herblore 1 Summoning 61 Slayer 80 Dungeoneering I plan to use the weapon primarily for boss hunting (Bandos for the foreseeable future) as well as training my slayer a bit to get charms for summoning. I also plan on using the weapon for pking, but I do not want a maul. If anybody could give me their input on which weapon would be better tailored to my situation and why, I would be very appreciative. Thanks in advance.

I think a balance of attack and strength are needed for consistent, strong hits, or a balance of defence and attack, for consistent hits and for blocking many of your opponents attacks. 99 strength is nice, but in a long armor fight, you can only hope to ko your opponent. I found this hard as my stats used to be similar to yours. I like a balance of attack and strength. I'm currently 99 attack, 94 strength, and 71 defense. I don't mean to be 99 attack and 94 strength, as I want 99 in both. At the time I decided to get 99 attack there was no pvp and I wanted to get my first skill cape. I was closer to 99 in attack so I chose that. I think 99 99 70 would be very good though.

explain how the dfs is underrated Well it's the best shield by far and it was crashing to a very mediocre price until recently. The extra defence is amazing and versatile and creates uses in many places. Ex. Many slayer tasks (black demons w/bandos possibly if you have 99 def w/o pray, scabarites, and any other monsters that don't require the rune defender's attack bonuses because you already hit them so often already), GWD, Boss monsters in general, dueling, and other general uses. Well, first of all, dfs is NOT the best shield in game. In fact, it's the 3rd best shield in game, being the first the elysian shield (don't you dare to deny it, it's true and you all know it), and the second is the Divine shield, although ti will only work properly if you have a constant source of prayer, other wise dfs is the second. Dfs is only the best shield when fighting dragons, and i still dont know if the Elysian shield effect applies to the dragonbreath. And second, Elysian shield+ 99 defence+ full bandos = Virtually invulnerable. No arguments Well, DFS's extra defence bonuses would probably make it approximately equal in it's capability IMO (besides the fact that the Elysian only has a 70% chance to lower the damage inflicted (which just depends on luck and circumstances), while divine would probably consume a lot of prayer potions), and unless someone who is ridiculously rich decides to test this comparison for us then we don't know. It just depends on the circumstances; there is no "best" shield out of these 3 truly. Elysian and Divine shield are overpriced and the street price is above the 100m+ that is already put up for it in the Grand Exchange, which is ridiculous. I'm talking about a relatively nicely priced item for it's capabilities if you have the funds to properly support the purchase. Oh and Torag's Platebody and Platelegs have much more raw melee stab and slash, and slightly more crush defence than Bandos Chestplate and tassets. Bandos boots have the best defence in the game for boots but they are only slightly better (+1 or 2 in stab, slash, and crush) than dragon boots for a sacrifice of +4 str. PvP armour, such as Statius has much more defence but I'm not counting that since it only lasts 15 minutes/1 hour of equipment or combat time. Oh, and no one is virtually invulnerable. Not with the sort of weapons in the game today when vsing a person with fairly similar stats. Whip is fairly accurate on even the best defence armour in the game and Verac's makes good armour seem like a joke with it's special ability. Elysian shield has only a couples of stats inferior to the dfs and with that sweet effect wich is a whole 70% chance to ignore ALL damage, and the other 30% with normal damage, face it, your indestructible! Pk with it and even dhers and ags'ers will have a very hard time trying to hit you throught elysian+torags, making you the king of the pking or, if your increadibly unlucky, a poor guy, as if you die you loose over 120+mil The elysian spirit shields effect, from the knowledge base: So its not a 70% chance to totally negate damage, just a 70% chance to negate a quarter or the damage. Of course I still think that is excellent and much better than a DFS. Too bad its ridiculously priced.

That sounds alright, but I'm not sure about the 40 attack and 40 strength. I might just try to get higher def and use familiars to fight. That may actually work...

Hah, i wish. I haven't played in months and i thought this would make me love the game like I used to. Maybe if there was a high staking value, but since i probably can only muster up a few quest points, I'll be staking 6k. I guess duel tournaments could be fun, but what really low levels want to enter a duel tournament for a lot? The problem of making money is another problem, as the level 3 "pure" has about 20k on it that I made from air rune running when i was bored on F2P. Any more suggestions would be much appreciated.

I created a new account a while back when i heard of summoning in hopes of being able to make a summoning pure. Well i started making some cash to afford this unlikely idea, and now summoning has been released. I didn't think it would be really possible as they described summoning like prayer and you can't really make a prayer pure anymore, or at east not without another combat skill. Well a few things rained on my parade.... 1. No more wilderness (this kind of sucked) 2. The cost of summoning 3. The difficulty to train summoning 4. The strength of summoning (although I'm sure strength of familiars will become higher) 5. This may be the hardest obstacle, obtaining the charms with a level 3 to 10 combat character 6. Or perhaps the most crushing blow, summoning only being able to be used in multi combat zones. I think this is somewhat ridiculous if it is a skill that affects combat level. It should only affect combat level in multi combat zones as this is the case. If anybody has any ideas on a summoning pure or an idea on how to combat any of these points, please share. Also, if this is the wrong forum, feel free to move it.

You can do it, im pure and did it WITHOUT 43 prayer and it was quite simple, WITH 43 prayer has to be much easier. Just go for it \

^^^^ lol post count more than 2, nearly all spammed like crazy over a slightly longer timespan. Silver, why do you have something against pures? I was at his party and everytime i went in his dungeon him and one of his friends said "pure" then I ice burst and get called a noob = :-s. Did your dad dress up as a pure when he beat you silver? Why do you care so much about post count? I'm sure you're one of the people who runes around runescape calling everybody with a lower level than you a noob, then you get koed by somebody higher than you when those lower levels call friends (like at your party). Anyway, That's what im wearing at the moment. Only requirements are to have started and complete PART of desert treasure, and 70 range for the bow.

Read what I just posted(I just now editted it as the last paragraph). The houses listed don't mean that those people are online right now and available for people - only that if they're on at that given time they'll consider opening up the house for visitors. If the people on the lists want visitors they can set private chat to on, otherwise leave it to friends only. How was i supposed to read that you posted this when you just edited it? Anyway,i covered this in my first post, saying that this whole thing is rendered useless as I, among most others i believe, wouldn't waste time for one random person to come to my house and make me entertain them.

Ya, life sucks, so get better at it, or quit. Whatever you choose, don't bother me with another "i'm quitting post." Obviously, that's too late, but to people in the future who quit and THINK about making some stupid post about how much they hate life and runescape takes up too much of their time, tell somebody who cares (although nobody does).

How are you going to go about updating this every few minutes after every party is opened? Also, if you plan not to update this constantly, and just keep it open so it say's my house is "available for visit," that means i am going to have to have my private chat set to ON for a straggler to come to my house and have me entertain them. Sounds like a real hassle and a waste of space. I'd much rather have my one thread that says i have an open house party set to either "CLOSED" or "OPEN" then just bring that thread to life everytime I have a party.

I can't see how tefda's can be topped. Not that it's the best program i've ever used, it just seems like you can't make a great POH designer. A POH designer is a POH designer, tefda's rotates the rooms, is quick to load up, and doesn't look too bad. For the convenience of Tefda's which earned it a quick link on my browser; Tefda:1 Convene_Inc:0 Not knocking anybody, but Tefda's is more convenient and can't be improved upon enough to make me want to clcik anything more than the one link i have to click to get to Tefda's.
