  1. Too old of a site for such good wisdom. Appreciate it! I am playing hardcore ironman real life, had a accident that almost took me out (thus memory lane and coming back to this site for the above post), but I guess the latency was too high and I respawned before the death flag authenticated. Has caused some long inconveniences...
  2. Even more fascinating is he sounded like how most of us (at least me) started off and committed to RS. His life even seems like the dreams of most kids too. ...I just became what parents fear and say why to not take candy from strangers/vans. 🥲
  3. Yeah I forgot I even had an account. Looking, I just made it. Used the calculators here all the time. Actually the wiki still doesnt have the same "quality" of calculators this place does. I was already at a low part of my RS career that when EOC came out it also was,... a worrying change. Between trying to get jobs, and move on from school, it was a after thought. I was goldilocks position though. Whole career at that point, I never did combat. Skills, combat was risky/pricey. I would loot goblins for 1gp when I was saving up for a Rune Pickaxe, but nothin heavier. So EOC wasn't a deal breaker in practice. Just concept. The Goldilocks part is cost, food was a drain? Eoc allows self healing out of combat with you "stamina/energy left over". Hmm, neat. So that allowed me to push into combat a little more. But, counter to RS playstyle, it was very active and attentive. So, I was able to get familiar with combat, leveling, tickle a couple bosses, but to much mental work to keep it up. When OSRS came, I checked it out and hoped even the "era" stats were on my account. Nope, fresh. I never made a second character, so didn't want to do so now. Thankfully, after OSRS success, RS3 (tried the hand at a pvp RS only called darkscape, neat) made a legacy mode for interface and combat. Effectively pre EOC toggle. Thats when the flood gates really opened. EOC got me trying combat, but Legacy allowed me to capitalize it. As backstory, even agrees legacy is slower, less DPS, less effects, etc, then EOC. But Legacy for me stupidly simplified the rotation. click tile to move, wait, eat, prayer flick, click tile. Timing was better. Enjoyment was better thus longer staying power... But less dps. Heals... Mandatory bosses having skill mechanics you cant avoid in Legacy or higher DPS, surely a problem?... Hahaha. Some of the best players in the then just released dungeon heard of no one, trying in legacy, and the damage/dps needed to and from would make it be not possible... right? WELL, thats when I truly divined my future. Legacy makes it so you can proc weapon effects/skills off the start. Helpful. (Guthix staff) And learning Blood Magic heals every attack. Powerful. Boss encounters I couldnt do in EOC (tried after), I breezed by in blood magic. Not saying strategy, planning, luck, didnt factor in. It was the first modern endgame boss I went into. But I got it done. So legacy I stayed (minus a favorite skilling boss, no combat and eoc has movement abilities). Years later they upped my power. T90 magic tank armor, set effect for slowing damage (lol blood magic go burr) BUT THEY ALSO RELEASED A SPELLBOOK SPELL THAT TURNS TANK ARMOR INTO A PERCENTAGE REDUCTION OF DAMAGE. Capping at like 80% or some shit. Throw on a deflector/rebounder that has a chance to negate all damage too, I become a god. Plus some invention perks for making spells 100% block too for a proc'd time, HA. Actually got my fire cape then. MTX is the only downer. Graphics, tho different, is more screen filling and sharper. You can buy retro looking overrides, so thats a "in". I rock my Classic Cape for playing RSC when it happened haha. And Chromatic Partyhat with fancy boots ofc.. I still got some hidden Runescape music from Jagex secret website link before the changeover in 2011 or such removed it. I do dig the remixes. Ebb and flow, but RS3 has done enough, but not to much, to keep me coming back but not take away the reasons I stay. Being a skiller made it easy of course. Lots to grind still and thats half the fun. RS quests are still not like any other MMO can touch. Its a single player delivery in in quality in a MMO. Lore heavy, etc. GOOD. So there is enough for me to waste time on RS. MY drink of choice. I went through school and studying afk. Security Guard training... afk RS. Heh. "It just works" - Todd Howard. Gower Brothers are making anew game called brighter shores. Have to check it out for respect. As fair as why I just vanished and how I been doing? A few months after my last post... Coma/crash/rebuild life. So... when I could, thats just temporary retirement for more RS. The not funny joke is im now only a few years ahead of when I MADE my RS account, again. I achieved Cave Goblin status, Buying GF. Will trim. Hope you have always been well. May you get something Trimmed one day. 🙂 /)^3^(\
  4. Interestingly from my preteen days in 2008 playing Runescape. Not much changed. I would wake up early to play RS (well let it load for the hour to be real) before school. At at school sometimes. Now? I got into some security work so I can play RS before work, and at work sometimes (overnight shifts ftw). 🤣
