  1. In all honesty in my opinion its not RS he's getting out of before it goes south. I would say its just as likely he's getting out in case Transformers completely tanks, because the investment in that and has been done entirely under his leadership. Theres a lot to lose career wise with it.

  2. I finally got my comp cape back at last, never thought I would, but it turned out to be way easier than I expected. I joined the Rago Pvm fc for a mass vorago kill and it was a cake walk.

     

    I think the main reason I was hesitant about the reaper title to begin with was being intimidated by how hardcore the big pvm video makers make the bosses out to be. When in reality with a bit of research and practise they are all very accessible.

  3. Wow, this truly is the kind of month we've been waiting a long time more. Multiple pieces of content that I know I will use on a daily basis.   I am amazed that they actually managed to get the first half of the city out by September, sure they were aiming for Julyish initially, but given the size of it I am impressed they kept to their word with a September release.

     

    I also hope the long awaited mini game grouping system is a success, I've been wanting to play some wars for a while now and I'm sure there are many other team activities I'd be keen to give a go.

I have been using one of the teaching ROTS chats the last couple of days and finally got a kill yesterday after about 6 tries, though I was never the first to die in any of them.  I'm really glad I did it and learned it as opposed to just leaching it, far more gratifying!   I was very hesitant about it before and wrongly assumed people would be elitist about learning and joining a team. But the guy teaching in the chat went way above board explaining tips and tricks before we even tried it.

     

    If anyone's worried about giving ROTS a go as a team boss, don't be, there are plenty of people out there to learn with and learn from.

     

    Now I just need to take down the big guy, I hope the chats are good for that too, the only one I can see on the forums currently is  RagoPvM so I'll give that a go this week.

  5. Hmmm, I absolutely love ports, it's easily my favorite update of the last few years and I still do it every day. But I'm not too keen to keep expanding with more regions and rewards, I feel like the amount we have currently is more than sufficient and I would fear that adding greater than 8 base trade goods would make it ridiculously quick to make the ports armour etc and devalue them to even lower prices.   In my opinion it would just be a dull way to expand it further.

     

    Something completely different to mix it up is the right way to go about it, and I think I will vote for the penguin one as it sounds the most fun.

     

    I really hope they're considering making ports accessible from the app too!

  6. Im confused by this Genie of good will: i used my daily spins, got a lamp , used it and the genie appeared and told me I was 'the millionth user',   I chose the fortune option and was award around 650k for doing absolutely nothing.     Was I just lucky or is this quite OP?

     

    It's stuff like this that annoys me, they make such a big fuss about  stopping inflation and making gold sinks, then introduce promotions like this...

    I agree. It felt like the quest was only added into the game to lead into the elf city. Not the other way around.

     

    Good dessert should compliment a good dinner. If you have a classy dessert  to go along with a mcdonalds burger.. thats silly. And thats what happened

     

     

    That is a fantastic analogy, and has made me chuckle.

     

    What is it that's caused this, is it miss communication, or is it that Jagex have completely misunderstood what players want?

     

    Re. the effort and budget being put into the elves faces, yes I know they are fantastic, that's why it would have been amazing to see those details utilized in some cut scenes so we could have seen the damn things!    As it stands we have a bunch of fantastically detailed chat faces and bodies that we've only seen a few times and mostly from a distance.    It's not too late and I would love them to assign someone to retrospectively put together some cut scenes for the ques, that those who have completed it can watch. I am confident it would make it better. 

     

    I know the One of a kind quest earlier this year was to test the waters as to whether we minded corner cutting on quests so that they could make more of them. And I hoenstly don't mind for more general/fun quests   But not for this quest!!!!!

I know I'm late, but I finally did the quest today and I honestly feel even more let down than the dwarf finale.  It just seems like the biggest rush job in the world.     The story itself was great, its just the delivery that sucked.    When so much effort has gone into the city, I just don;t understand why so little pride seems to have gone into the quest we've waited for 10 years for.          I feel like when the elf city/quest debate came about earlier this year, sure I know players wanted the city too, but to me at least it was an uber amazing quest that I really wanted and had been waiting for predominently.   Dont get me wrong, I am incredibly excited for the city, it's going to be amazing. Theres just a part of me that would quite happily sacrifice 30% of the time and resources that have gone into the city and have them invested in the quest.

     

     

    My key gripe with the corner cutting is that I just didn't feel immersed in the quest at all, i love lore normally and read it all, but I found it really hard to avoid the temptation to just space bare mash the conversations.   After a while thinking about it I think the key reason I didn't feel immersed was because of the complete lack of cutscenes. There were 3 or 4  pivotal moments that were perfect for an amazing cut scene, and instead there was just the crap animations of NPC's walking around.    For goodness sake so much effort went into Yelps death, yet when the King dies, he just disappears. Its shameful  and I just can't fathom Jagex logic.    Are budgets really that tight!!!

Actually its a very clever move now I think about it, because with the fight kiln  becoming a boss slayer task, (they said a task would typically 2 Har-Aken kills), and the requirements to kill 25-100 of each boss there will also be many more Onyx coming into the game through that. So overall surely Onyx prices should stabilize nicely eventually

  10. They didn't say.     Im going to assume it's an all class necklace like the fury is, though I guess it could have a special ability like a teleport too.  They would be very silly to make the dungeoneering reward necklaces the ninja team just released redundant.

  11. The hydrix reward is going to be a gem upgrade to onyx, it seems you buy it and combine them and the resultant product can then be crafted into a necklace and enchanted. This will be a best in slot necklace and all forms-the gem, necklace and enchanted amulet will be tradeable.

     

     

    They have spent the whole time so far banging on about how they have listened to player feedback, but alas it seems the comp req for the reaper title is still the same-all bosses including ROTS and Vorago.   I know this is a point of contention among high level players, and that there are two sides to every argument. But I personally am still furious that they wont back down and this is still going ahead.

     

     

    The amount you have to kill per task is going to be on average around 13, so that lower level players can do it too.

     

    There is also a title reward for if you kill 100 of each boss (inlcuding Har-Aken!!!)

  12. Mod Mark seems to be a lot less present and involved lately, or is it just that Mod Osbourne has replaced him in a few of the videos that has me thinking that? I feel like we used to see and hear a lot more from him. He's one of the few mods that never seems to post anything on reddit or twitter etc.   Has he taken a step back?

  13. Can you still get essence as a reward for mahogany plank construction tasks? Last time I did that I got close to 30k pure essence as a reward, and that makes the problem exponentially worse as the price drops.  You would have thought that was a quick ninja fix they could have made ages ago to help alleviate the problem with minimal hassle.

  14. It's even more ironic to me personally, because I would say clan citadels are a reason I actively avoid clans. Every clan I have been in I felt I was being nagged every week to go do the reqs for the clan citadel, which as someone with a comp cape, and very limited play time each week (30mins a day when I can), there is no way I'm deliberately spending that precious time afking something with no purpose.    With the design of the elf city they seem to have a good awareness of what kid of content would appeal to people who don't need xp due to maxing, they just need to apply this to citadels.  

     

      I think adding some sort of clan citadel unique PVM content for one would be a good avenue to go down, perhaps unique slayer monsters (which grant slayer xp) with incredibly rare drops that could be displayed only in the citadel like the monster heads in POH's. Perhaps also dropping the resources needed weekly for the citadel too. Im sure there are many ways they could me made better and appealing.

    In addition to the light update which is completely idiotic. Now on P3-P4, all you do is spam eat while hoping to get into the spotlight, thus drastically reducing the time you have to DPS Araxxor and the minions.

     

    Yes they buffed up the loot somewhat but made the the boss fight much more difficult (also increased enraged buff from 200%).

     

    It's like these people don't understand plain English and are just downright [cabbage]. All the players post feedback saying more or less the same thing (buff loot, reduce instance costs, maybe get rid fo grave spiders, change the radius of cleave attack, don't make melee so underprivileged), and they just ignore half of that and go do other stuff. 

     

     

    I can't agree enough  with you here, whilst I'll admit i is half due to me being a sore loser as Im' such a PVM noob, and have still only managed  kill out of the approximately 25 tries I've made so far, it is also the silly things that are causing me the most frustration.    Primarily the arraaxxor click radius issue, which combined with missclicking on either your BOB or one of the spiders, I feel there isn't much click area left for you to successfully hit and therefore dodge it.   My other big gripe is spiders getting trapped/obscured and being practically invisible , it makes the mirrorback/acid spiders completely not enjoyable to deal with.     His melee range deffinitely seems a lot more lethal today also I must say.

     

    Given most of the buffs today seem geared to forcing people to not just use single methods to take him down, like stopping everyone taking the light path because its the easiest, you would have though they would have at least made an attempt to make melee more doable. But instead melee seems even more unfeasible.

  16. Whenever araxxxors healing web comes down, my character keeps trying to auto attack, even though I have it switched off and I repeatedly click away from him. It just keeps trying to hit him, causing me damage unless i spam click the ground until the web disappears. The only thing Ive found stops it is clicking store on my BOB.  Is this a glitch or am I missing something?
