So thats 4 nights a week, plus 3.5 million....Average of 9.5 million...So 41.5 Million. Oh, and thats 2 hours a week, so more than Stargate, lets halve that...So 20.75 per hour....roughly double Stargates WORLDWIDE viewing audience. Clearly what we need is to abandon the sci-fi and start talking about muslim-homosexual relations, which seem far more popular. So thats 18 more emmys than Star Gate, 2 more hugos than stargate, 1 more peabody award....and 17 million more viewers.

What has that got to do with anything? Its like saying 'Hitler is someone we aspire to be because he is mentioned alot in books and on the internet.' You can't infer that, because of a 10 million a week viewing audiance that it is not a trashy novel like show.

Sigh, the sexual tension between Jack and Sam... Between Jack and just about every female Gould shown... Hardly...'US Government Covers Up Aliens' its been part of mainstream culture since Roswell. :wall: Anything unamerican....(though that is kinda ironic) Atlantis was a snooze fest. SG1 was, as I said, like a trashy novel...I can watch it and enjoy it, but at the end of it I haven't actually gained anything and am left feeling cheated out of an hour of my life. Universe was slightly more interesting, then they discovered that it recharges itself and it got less interesting. Then you have the whole body swapping thing, which is entirely ridiculous for a multitude of reasons...seriously, it is a massive plot device, and it screams it. Otherly....All of the characters are made 2 dimentional by their flaws...None of them seem to have any real redeeming features and I can't look at any of them and say 'Yeah, I want to be like that'...The idea that, out of the 60 odd people who went through the gate, none of them were any good in surviving in space and were all massively flawed as human beings...is just as unlikely as them all going through has highly skilled and trained individuals and all of them are perfect. Furthermore Stargate continues to be a one alien show...There is no real varriation.

Ps, going to get food, then will do battle calculations. Also, if anyone one is on, can they PM me if they are avalible to talk about how we could design a better research system? Thanks.

Its the illusion of challange meeting...Every episode they have 'just enough' power, or find just enough power, to get to the end of the episode...They never solve any long term problems... Example: Star Gate has the Intergalactic Gate Network...Which is then disabled by the Midway station being destroyed. Do they try to rebuild? No, of course not...Being able to dial Earth and arrive 30 minutes later without wasting massive amounts of power, is a crappy plothole. Compare with Voyager...Who don't discover a way to beam infomation across space using micro-wormholes, but someone on Earth does and uses it to contact voyager, exchanging data, eventually allowing them to communicate with Earth more. And you always know where you stand with Star Trek(Or at least TNG and VOY) because the characters have principles...SG1 acts like they have some God-Given mission to destroy whatever Empire there currently is, while expanding their own... Fail to see the relevance...'You person dies' 'Ok, I being research a way round it, 5 years.' Sigh, yes, but not rapid fire auto-seeking missiles We had them centuries ago with cannon balls...So I fail to see your point. Because of flattening and Aerodynamics... If an object impacts on another then common sense says 'Its gonna flatten, at least partially' Which will either destroy componants or make it unstable as a flying object. Yup, they could...except that Microwaves don't melt matter...hence why when I put something in a microwave it doesn't melt...Seriously, put a block of ice in a microwave(and turn it on) and it won't melt any faster. Furthermore Microwaves are reflected by Metals, any any metal that was melted would be refrozen in the vaccum of space(Seriously, a meteor is still 200 degrees below freezing, even after re-entry), and would therefore just melt back together as armour...so the best the microwave melter would do is reduce armour thickness by a milimeter or so, then crash into the armour and be frozen on...probably. Obviously the amount of weapons is proportional to the ship's capacity. No need, OP race doesn't exist. Problem solved... This isn't like Hegemony of the past where out ubering something makes both things ok... Well of course. Stargate is the story about Earth saves the universe, there is love, sex, action, explosions, cool blue swirly things... All the things that make a good story...and...what is more it doesn't come with any sort of morality or anything challanging to our beliefs...Watching an episode of Stargate is like reading a trashy novel, enjoyable...but pointless. In that respect it is nothing like Star Trek, which is...or was...always challanging beliefs and trying to expose things for what they actually were. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqIV3t9eybY

Just did it, had to be Liberal Democrats... Yes...I am sure everyone would love if aliens appeared and then coated Earth in Black Mamba Poison, stole our technology and made a drum kit out of our bodies... Because Mather has shown that he is unwilling to give up in an arguement about them...I don't want 10 page arguements every day about why 'Finding a Stargate on a planet' isn't gonna happen...I don't want 'The ancients put it there'...I don't want 'My race can only be killed by one way'...ect, ect... Or you could just accept that I know what is overpowered and what isn't....since it is my game- Yes Hegemony is everyone's game, but this one is mine, if people feel strongly about it then I will hold a vote, but frankly, I am not wrecking the game just so Mather can enjoy himself for five minutes. Yes....If he attached his gun to the national grid, then creating some sort of suspension system...then made the gun less than uber powerful....Then yeah... But that kinda goes against the whole 'Particle Magnum' idea...of a smallish, powerful gun that is handheld. Something like this would be acceptable: [hide][/hide] Its not that we hate Stargate...that is unrelated....its that we don't like the format...Stargate is designed to have powerful weapons and one size fits all power generators and unbelivable technology... In other words it is designed to be overpowered.... 'Whats that Carter? Earth is heavily outnumbered and outgunned? I think I just pulled a new gun out of the Stargate that will swing the odds in our favour again.' 'Thats amazing, all of our other weapons don't work against 'Generic Alien #9' and yet now, at the final hour, we have a way of defeating them despite them having all the crushing advantages you could think of.' Star Trek, Star Wars...Other sci-fi shows...Tend to have a set of weapons which they use, or do some sort of puzzle, or specifically disable XYZ to help them survive....Picard never got a Massive, Freakjy, Weapon and blew up 80 Borg Cubes....Yoda never crushed the Deathstar with the force... If Stargate writers had written Star Trek it would have probably gone like this: 'Captain, Earth is being threatened by a thousand Borg ships, they have destroyed all of our fleets and are now hovering menacingly, being unable to fire because of an ancient shield that activated all by itself. But the shield only has exactly 29 minutes of power!' *Theme music and opening* 'Hmmm, the only way we are going to solve this, in the time we have avalible, will be to somehow destroy all of their ships...What about some sort of Dilithium Bomb?' 'Brilliant plan Captain, as everyone knows Dilithium is the most powerful substance ever.' *Some time later* 'Oh no! Their shields seem to be able to withstand the blast!' 'Hmmm...this requires a totally new approach...' 'Well, Captain, I have be working on a new Trilithium explosive, it could be even more powerful than Dilithium' 'Thats amazing, quick prepare the torpedoes.' *Fires some torpedoes* 'They are retreating!' 'Not without a fight, fire the super Trilithium bomb' *Entire fleet is destroyed* 'That will make them think twice before invading again.' 'Oh no, the leader escaped!' 'Darn them, well lets be complacant, after all they will never be able to beat Trilithium....but for some reason attacking them is completely out of the question.' *Theme music and Credits* The closest we really got in Star Trek was Species 8472 and the nanite weapons...But Voyager didn't go it alone, it actually used the collective might of the Borg Collective to drive them back...

I didn't really want to learn Stargate talk... If it can't be prevented and kills instantly then it is OP.... Well Universe doesn't actually say it is deadly, it just says the one person who used it failed miserably.... Also, emphasis on the 'Early'...Hegemony has a way of researching things to 'Late' fairly quickly... Can you please stop putting OUs where there should just be Us... Its slightly annoying...and the opposite of difficult. It just looks bad....Like if I randomly put e after every word ending with a Y.... Anywho, having a Battleship that can be controlled by one person isn't really in the spirit of the game, could be easily abused and is overpowered...I can explain if neccessary. Torpedoes...Yes Auto-seeking...No Multiple Impact Sites...No Stargate destroying capable...No High Energy cost...Yes Capable of melting all known matter...No Recall-Refire Capable...No Dodging...Yes Wireless Energy Transfer...No Hundreds of Thousands...No Capable of Destroying Ships Instantly...No Pointlessly Long Term Firing Sequence...No Yeah sure why not. I would just go with a Tricorder or a Psi-Scanner I don't really get what you are asking...A Stargate can transport matter across the universe....why would it be incapable of transporting one type of fighter, but not another? As long as it could actually fit through the gate(With the proper research you could make it any sized you liked, scaling costs to match), and didn't exceed the ship/gate limit I can't really see a problem with it...to be honest... I don't know, it just seems like your asking 'Can I make a blue line with a blue pen?' and I am half expecting you to then go and declare that everything written with a red pen is a lie...

Hmmm... So Tim walks 90 meters way from the rest of the group(or visa versa), disappears, is killed and then is replaced...Sounds kinda dangerous, it needs some sort of safeguard system built in.

Don't worry it is just Tim. Didn't Tim get shot earlier? Oh...Damn.

Sorry, I don't speak Stargate. I meant 'The Good Snake People' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydroxycobalamin#Cyanide_poisoning Also a Vaccine is administered BEFORE exposure... Reasons below Reason 1 Reason 2 Hmmm, unless of course you develop some kind of copying tool and suddenly education means going to the magic wall slot once in your life Drones= Could mean anything Particle magnums= No Lifesign detector= Could mean anything Gateships= If you build stargate and sent a ship through it...it would be a gateship....I am not sure exactly how that would be different from a ship that goes through a stargate...

Hmmm, lets convert that into forum speak: I want a race which would be near unkillable because of their advanced technology, except through one method, of which I am the only one who knows anything about. Once I have killed them I will take their technology, implant a handful of Tokra Symbiots that I found 'under a floorboard' and develop an anti-one-weakeness vaccine. Thus becoming a god-like race. Yeah, this doesn't sound overpowered at all. As for the ease at which they are killed....They are a predator animal which is pretty pathetic at fighting...not to mention more or less incapable of attacking a species that doesn't have a backbone, making them pretty useless from an evolutionary point of view, since they live in water. Anywho, Stargate stuff is allowed, just not ZPMs, 38 minute wormholes, Hyperdrive, any of the Aliens, Ancient chairs/wall sockets, Replicators, or other assorted things which I don't have the time to mention...I think that covers everything...

[hide=Lets see if I can find a picture that adequately conveys the futility of suggesting this....] [/hide] Just incase anyone was in any doubt.... There is no hope in hell that I am allowing a creature that is entirely contary to the laws of natural selection, commonsense and, above all else, my own abitrary take on acceptable ways to play the game.

Well, actually they do. To be completely conquered, the enemy has to take all of your cities, which means more cities = harder to conquer. Probably easier to just have a bigger army, but yeah, guess so.

Well cities don't really 'do' anything...at least not on Earth, other planets yes, but on Earth they are only good as a target for invasions and bombing runs.

Hegemony
No. Colonisation is supposed to be hard, if it is made easy then people just start sticking biodomes everywhere and the game gets boring, since its easier to not declare war and stick biodomes everywhere, than it is to fight for resources from time to time... Also placing a city with every 1 or 2 infrastructure gained would just annoy people...Not just me, but everyone who doesn't want to... Or who wants their city here, not where I placed it. Also, it forestalls the innevitable explosion of IAG...which is bound to happen somewhen. What about just adding 'Towns' as Greenish dots which cost 100 billion, can be destroyed instantly, but in 30 years will become a city? Limited to 10 towns at any one time?
