  1. Not particuarly. I didn't vote in the other one because I was in two minds about it, pros and cons to it... This one I am happy with Aliens. Realism doesn't make a persausive arguement, next.
  2. Np, Once you send it to me I will send you the Mars Map(since it won't be the real one)
  3. *Grimaces* Ico can you send me a 'city plan' It doesn't have to be complicated, just showing me how you are going to divide stuff up.
  4. Mather, don't confuse the issue. Transporting is where things are converted from one type of matter into another, usually one that can be more easily moved. Wormholes are when things are moved across space. No converting involved.
  5. Spock walks in. Spock says 'beam me up scotty' A loading bar appears *Sometime later* 'Vista Canny Hold Him Captain!' 'Install Windows 7 Mister Scot' *Some more time later* Spock is disassembled and placed as a file. The file is placed in a temporary folder Temporary folder is deleted Anywho, you can invent any system you like and apply it to your gates, default setting is that you put in the co-ordinates of the star and then select the planet you want to go to. @ Rocco: The other advantage is that, in wars, you can use all your research projects in new an exciting ways...for example, using paper think batteries, attached to tripwires, to, not only set of traps, but also to electrocute soliders. Innovation can mean the difference between poverty and starvation and the abundant life.
  6. Err, what does text art have to do with anything? Also the Star Map isn't changing...
  7. Nah it isn't. You want a system which goes: T-G, L-Z, calling from Antares I want a system that goes(Ok, so its an 8 figure Grid Referance): (720.8, 754.1) 1 Mine even has a list of star co-ordinates on the map...So how your's is similar I do not know.
  8. Who said anything about Military projects being any different? Its not that there is no point, its makes the whole experiance much more interesting and means that you can undertake other projects in the same field... But look at it like this...people on here are not scientists or experts, they barely understand the concepts involved, so guessing how they would effect the world is kinda complex... More than that the bonuses, if they were applied, would be minute...sort of 0.005 for most projects...since more than that might cause problems. Some things have cumulative effects, like Doom's research, which has made her fighting forces more efficent, but cost more...but, for the most part, research is a roleplay element, designed to help you have fun while playing...to customise your county...since bonuses are not fun when they take hours to work out.
  9. I prefer to just use a six figure grid referance, as is used on the map. Then one additional number to represent which stargate in the system you are calling....Seems much more simple.
  10. Less money in the pockets of lorry drivers, more people out of work...Less batteries required, meaning less sales, less people employed and higher costs for the consumer. See how complicated it is, far better to just arbitarily give infrastructure bonuses of .1 when I feel like it, it cuts out all the economic stuff.
  11. Begs the question....Why? The benefit of being able to transport 2 million batteries doesn't really make up for the ability to plug into the mains electric....
  12. Amazing... Considering that these Stargates are not those Stargates they can stay open longer than 38 minutes... Further population figures are just figures, they have no actual baring since population has no actual baring, beyond a roleplay element. Also, getting a line of people like that would be near enough impossible... If you want to research some sort of coding system, that is your business. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_operator "Hello, this is your Operator speaking" "Err, hi, I left my wallet at home, can I make a collect wormhole to Bird, A with circle on, Hyphan, Asterisk, Hexahedron, Square, Percent?" "Who can I say is calling?" "Dad" "One moment, I am trying to connect your call.....It seems they have an outgoing wormhole already" "I bet its Lucy, she is seeing this guy, and her mother and I-" "Thats nice sir, goodbye."
  13. So do buttons Carrying a pack of triple A's is not hard D-Cells FTW? More power does not mean anything can use it Potentially, but smaller is often more expensive, since it takes more skill to make...
  14. Paper batteries wouldn't help Infrastructure...not sure how it would
  15. Smaller Stargates can be a research project branching off from the main one...But this is FTL travel...and ships that are 6.6 meters wide tend to be ill suited for just about anything. Colonisation would also be fairly slow...5 people could probably use it per second, so thats...157,680,000 per year if you had a constant stream. Invasions could be done fairly quickly though. But would be easy to defend against. And they can already dial any other...but, since there are no Ancients, only the statgates you create can be dialled...
  16. Total cost of Japanese Offensive: 49,000,000,000 Treasury: 2,426,928,000,000 Casualties: 360,000 Infrastructure: 1.0 After throwing countless thousands of brave men at the shores of Sri Lanka, the generals decide that it is probably a bad idea and stop trying to invade. Protests in Japan cause a drop in infrastructure. Also Agent 15 is still not there...
  17. Japanese invasion of the islands: Total cost of Japanese Offensive: 36,000,000,000 Treasury: 2,475,928,000,000 Casualties: 240,000 Infrastructure: 1.2 Sri Lanka task force completely annhilated.
  18. Byzantine super expansion: Total cost of Byzantina: 60,300,000,000 Treasury:1,030,738,800,000 Casualties: 620,000 Infrastructure: 2.8 Creation of the Königlich Dynasty forestalls further invasions into Eastern Europe.
  19. 2.0
  20. Mather some numbers would be nice...
  21. Egypt Celebrates the return of its Heroes, unfortunately they are so joyous that they don't feel like doing any work, lowing infrastructure by .1 (These little random events can go up or down by .1 and are at my disgression)
  22. Casualties: 60,000 Total Cost of South Africa: 13,500,000,000 Treasury: 109,032,000,000 Infrastructure: 2.2
  23. Cool.
  24. You did...
  25. Casualties: 120,000 Total Cost of Egyptian Attack: 10,800,000,000 Treasury: 82,427,200,000 Infrastructure: 2.1
