  1. With the possible removal of trade limits it might be a good idea that Jagex makes it easier to report botters/macroers...

I've always been the first in line to report people who were obvious botters.

I'm not gonna reveal all tricks to get bots stuck but if you think of leading away swamp tar pickers, snape grass pickers with dropped items; getting auto firemakers stuck with bird snare or beat autominers

by mining faster (and they keep clicking too late without asking you to leave or without logging out to mine in another world)...

The stupid thing is these guys try RS names that discourage you to report them. Since you have to manually type in the name of the suspected person it's annoying if their RSN is something like

'IllllIIIIllll" because it's really hard to copy that lol...

A rightclick option might be too much asked and would lead to many mistaken reports, but there should be an easier way imo... Last guy I reported had 99 fish, 99fm, 99 fletch, 99 cook and was already L92 mining when I reported him.

All other skills were 'not ranked' in highscores... Can it be more obvious this got got all his "skills" botting??? I mean how can you bot all those levels without being caught? Makes no sense at all

And plz don't give me the nonsense "what if you report someone who's not really botting, but has chat off and is just stubborn?" If you claim a person who's fm'ing gets stuck and remains on the same spot

without moving, then logs out, logs back in, runs to bank and restarts fm'ing till I stuck him again is not a botter, you should question your intelligence and not mine

Besides that, Jagex has always stated it's better to report 'suspects' than look away from macroing and help destroying the game.

And don't be fooled, if trade limits will be removed, there will be a boom of botters again... :(

  2. Well the title says it all I guess.

I got three effigies in my bank so far.

Two of them require L91 smith/mining to start with, I have L88 mining atm.

Can I use a familiar to temporarily boost my mining level and thus use the effigy on mining?

I noticed the L73 obsidian golem boosts mining by 7 so that should do the trick, no?

    Thx for an answer,

    SOJ

  3. Ditch maul for prom 2h (which, contrary to what someone else said, is better than a maul whether you're in a team or solo), and bind a platebody.

It is not always better, as I stated before.

It is a proven and known fact having a mauler on a team is helpful. Their attack rate is slow but they hit HARD even compared to a 2h.

You really need to stop talking about dungeoneering. You were giving false information about it on another thread a while back.

You're 59 dung. You haven't even started the skill. Stop.

 funny but I bet he will say something like 'This isn't my best acc. I have a main who's way better than u' ;)

Must be the phrase I heard most while getting mining up in F2P where people couldn't stand it that the better miners chop the coals first :P

  4. Too bad 90% of Runescape thinks it's more of a minigame than a real skill.

I'm one of them... See no point at all in wasting time dungeoneering.

The weapons may be well worth it, but the efforts & time you have to waste in there are too huge to be compensated by the quality of the weap imo...

    Wow.

Doesnt make it any less stupid though.

Worthless coloured pixels in a game of some form that has no real values lose is meaningless comapred top actually losing real money that clothes you and feeds you and keeps a roof over your head

If you just see the items as worthless pixels, why bother spending time on a forum about the game RS where items are valuable and important... Makes no sense at all

  5. Only two words annoy me: 'noob' when it comes from lowerlevels towards high cb people, especially if they're wearing untrimmed cook cape and big mouth people coz they actually were patient enough to grind down one skill...

Kid annoys me because I'm 26 and it makes no sense if a teenager calls people 'kid' without knowing them...

I must admit I try to avoid getting annoyed, to avoid getting muted :)

  6. Use upper/lower case letters, numbers AND symbols. Don't use your RuneScape password on any other site. Scan your computer regularly for viruses, etc., don't visit sites or download files linked to you by someone you don't know.

You can't enter symbols in RS password, just thought it would be time to change my own pass and I tried it but got this message

There was a problem with your submission, please try again.
The password you entered contained an invalid character. Passwords can only contain the letters A to Z and the numbers 0 to 9.

I feel sorry for you getting hacked, especially when the guy just dropped your items. Sad...

  7. Don't worry mate, I'm 26 myself and I stopped telling those kids how old I am.

So tired of the reactions I'm a no-lifer or an idiot for playing child's games.

I've tried many many games and still I keep returning to RS.

It has everything I need in a game.

It's nearly impossible to have achieved/done/seen everything there is in game.

So I don't mind whatever they say. In 5 yrs I'll still be around, but I doubt they will be :)

Just enjoy the game and don't bother bout those kiddo's :P

  8. Well nevermind then I guess, I refuse to go with the merchanters who keep messing with the game & the value of the GP.

I just checked GE and noticed a white phat is 560mil, so the item is worth less than the value of the junk those guys demand.

Sounds stupid to me, I'll just keep running around with masks then. Just pixels after all...

  9. I just came back from a break (almost a year) where I was playing WOW. I noticed there are also auto fishers in game etc, but once you report a player for it (same with scamming account details of people being really offensive) I noticed 24-48hrs later moderators actually bothered to write u a polite text warning you not to hand out personal details to strangers & to keep reporting 'system abusers' who cheat. They also ensure you steps will be taken against the people who broke the rules.

If the game moderators give you the feeling you are actually helping the in-game community to remove cheaters/bad elements from the game, that actually encourages you to live by the rules and kick the lamers out.

What bothers me about Jagex is the fact you can report & ignore a player but when you return two weeks later to the same spot you see the same bot is still training there but it has gained an amazing amount of XP in that one particular skill...

Well that bothers me indeed... You get the option to report botters but nothing happens to them and Jagex also refuses to inform you whether your report changes things.

I know the moderators in other games (like wow) probably just send you a global message they keep sending to people who report others, or even worse: an automated message the system sends you once they receive complaints... BUT this still gives you the feeling things may change?

  10. I remember when I was into my fulltime-slaying period I got most ring drops from metal dragons... Did alot of greaters and gargoyles and seemed less likely to get drops there...

Well jagex would say it's a random drop so there's no exact drop rate for it :P

  11. I personally was quite surprised how fast I got a decent amount of iron ores in falador dwarf mine when banking in the dungeon deposit...

I played 20-30 mins a day when I felt like it, because I wanted to get 88 mining before going memb again...

When I reached 88 mining and checked bank I had mined over 4k iron ores.

All little bits add up so I think this was quite a nice amount if you don't see the amount you're stacking up lol

  12. Hey lads,

I've been away from RS from nearly a year and when I came back to check on game again I noticed my mask set in bank has gone waaaaay up.

Red mask is around 145mil atm the rest have also double in priced so now I have a nice budget in mind to buy a party hat.

I mean selling my mask set + cash to someone willing to sell me a phat. I talked about it with some older players in COE chat and they sell phats sell for billions nowadays???

I don't understand how that is possible since I can't imagine people have 500mil in junk or whatever... Sounds weird to me...

Anyone who has an id whether this is correct or not and whether I should even bother to think of a way to get a partyhat? I'm gonna be member again next week,

and I got a huge collection of herbs/pots/seeds & other stuff in bank totalling my total wealth at 500-600mil... Will this be enough to get a phat? µ

    Thx for a reply

  13. Also bots now are people leveling skills to 99 instead of lvl3 gold farmers trying to make a quick buck

Yeah well, I miss the game before there were skill capes. Now there is this insane obsession where everyone wants a skillcape asap.

They're willing to cut tree every second they play or to spend all their cash on raw food just to get that ugly purple cape.

Come on, this game was designed to have fun. Not to go mental over one virtual item that doesn't really add that much to the game.

If everyone is obsessed by 99's do u think it's weird people design progs to do it for them without the least effort?

I've always worked on my total level and I always trained whatever I liked. If I got bored, I hopped to another skill...

Result: a well balanced account and way too much cash since I never spend it on craft materials or skill resources.

  14. I'm none of them, I'm this one:

The Dungeoneer Hater - Rather amputates his own legs than spending one more second doing this incredibly stupid & useless NON-skill that got released because Jagex-staff has too many $$$-signs in their eyes to notice what the average player likes to do... He therefore decided to quit members and not pay one more cent for this game as long as Jagex doesn't realize this is total bull****. This kind of player is normally very diplomatic and well-behaving, but when he hears the word 'Dungeoneering' he transfroms into a huge, heavily-muscled, green monster that hates everything & everyone!

  15. Dungeoneering is no skill as the others in the first place... This more of a boring minigame if u ask me...

Except u don't get nice items, unless u do it for an insane amount of time.

And why is this not a skill? Because it's not meant to solo. If you solo it gives you way less XP and it takes way longer.

All the other skills are solo based and give u all the profit and xp you work for. Dungeoneering is just insanely boring and gives you no advantage at all if u do it alot... SAD

  16. Beuh, this is one lame topic imo.

You can't judge/point a finger at a whole group of people.

Pmods aren't different than most other players, except they get rewarded for their loyalty playing for a long time, behaving correctly, not botting & helping people in-game.

Afaik there are no known tricks to become a pmod so if you say you have to report a lot, that sounds like wild guessing & negative energy to me.

I happen to know some pmods from in 'Council of elders' and all the mods in there are awesome people. Not because they're awesome mods, not because they rock as a person.

Even if 99% of the pmods are numnuts who report everyone for the smallest thing (which is not the case ofc) one or good pmod would still make it rediculous to judge the pmod system.

The only thing that frustrates me alot, but that's JAGEX's fault, is you get reported for calling names or offensive language & not for autotypers & botters.

I quit members for some months now, because I'm playing WOW now. Yet when there are maintenances going on or I'm fed up with WOW for a day, I come mining in Al Kharid.

Just to talk to some friends in the meantime & to do something usefull. 10 minutes ago I got fed up with mining again because it was only me & three others.

2 iron ore miners who kept circling around the rocks and mining everything, except the ores I mine coz they can't take em that fast.

One of them just standing there, till mith/addy ores pop up.

When I talk nobody gives a reaction. When I keep beating the mith/addy miner everytime he doesn't start to complain/flame...

I thought Jagex did something about macroers? Total rubbish impo

  17. Title says it all. After playing for +5 years I've decided to go play another game.

When Jagex invented the trade limit & the GE I took a 1y-break to play LOTRO. Once I achieved everything I could achieve there I came back to RS to give it a new chance.

It seemed ok and I quickly found out the game got nicer in graphical & gameplaying way.

One thing that bothered me most till now were the merch clans & the autoers everywhere advertising for these clans. I still don't understand why Jagex doesn't do anything about this.

BUT the main thing why I have decided to quit RS for a year again is the new skill dungeoneering.

I worked hard the last months getting slayer, mining & farm +85 and all skills +70.

Also got my QP to +270 and managed to get a full haloween mask set. My next goal was getting all skills +75 and then make cash so I could afford a white phat.

That was before dungeoneering was released. Come on: this is nothing but a sucky minigame!

No skill, no challenge, no fun. I don't see why I would waste my time doing something as boring as this for no reward at all.

O yes, there are rewards but they don't contribute anything to the game at all and are extremely timeconsuming to obtain.

Not only do I lack the patience to get this skill to 75 but I simply lost faith in Jagex at this point. I work hard during the week, I'm away from home alot doing training courses in other European countries

or just spending time with my wife. And when I get home and wanna relax I simply can't do it with RS anymore. I'm sighing all the time and don't find satisfaction anymore.

I started World Of Warcraft two weeks ago and find it quite amusing. I'll see how long it takes before I feel the need to come back and try RS again...

For now it's over... Cya later Tip.It & gl to everyone who thinks RS is still fun :)

    Laterz...
