If this game was fully 3d and was an action-adventure style RPG like Phanasty Star Online for Xbox, Game Cube, and soon to be PC and PS2 I'd be with you but since its turn base this just doesn't work.

Even this solution will not manage to prevent massive changes in the economy though. A few posts earlier I already explained what kind of players buy rares - now let's take a look at how they'll probably react to your solution: 1) Investors. The investors won't have a reason to keep their money in rares anymore (rares don't go up in price on the long-term anymore) they will pull out the worth they have in them. 2) Merchants. The profit margins of rares-sales will probably be smaller due to such a shop. The activity of rares-trading as a whole will be lower, as many people are less or not interested in rares now. This would make the rares less attractive for merchants, so a lot of merchants would move away from the rares market. 3) Show offs. I'm not sure what these people would do if this change happened. Let's assume they stay interested in rares. 4) Collectors. The collectors will see less interest to collect the rares, because the idea of "one day I'll own them all" will be taken away. There will be a unlimited supply of rares and thus a big part of the collectors might not see the point in collecting the rares anymore. As you can see - such a change will take away the interest in rares of many people. If the shop buys the rares for a good price too, that would only add on to the problems that already come from the lowered interest in the rares. I agree with points 1 and 3, but not 2 and 4. 2) Merchants will still merchant rares, but the price range would be much lower so the profit margin may only be 1mill. The reason they'd still merchant rares is for the simple fact that most people on f2p don't do a lot of the quest, and would therefore not be able to do the quest needed to buy them from a store. Also, the merchants maybe the only people able to do the quest right away since they have money to raise the skill necessary to do this quest. Therefore, they'd have more phats, masks, ect to add to the market. As a result their value would decrease, but not by a whole lot and room for profit would still be around. But the price would never jump again. 4) Collects will still collect them, well if they think like I do. I want these items mainly because they look cool and the fact they are rare. The quest would still make them rare. The abyssal whip is rare, but the amount is in theory limitless is it not. The same would be true for the shop. The shop wouldn't have more than 10 of any item, unless someone sold the item, at any one time. In fact I think the shop should only have 5 of each rare. In theory, this makes the amount limitless, but the time it takes a shop to regenerate items makes them have a limited number. In shot, the whole point of the quest and the reward is to make rare prices static, never moving just like most items in the game. I still believe that this would be the only fair way to solve our crazy, little problem. That̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s why most of the important parts of the quest are a synonyms for crazy and weird.

[IDEA]: Invisibility potion. (UPDATED, addition to idea)
gadien01 replied to Peronix's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
THe idea seems good, but I doubt it will be implemented because of the fact that too many people would complain about not seeing people. -
Yes they would buy the rare items as well and they would static. The shop would have like 40 of each rare and would be cheaper than the current market price, but not by much. This would stop the increase of prieces. I realize its only half the problem, but this seems to be the only way to fairly solve the problem of merchanting rares because the in order to acess the shop a player would have to go through that long quest and it stops "noobs" from getting expensive items.
-
This is the only idea that seems to come close to being fair to eveyone who bought, sold, or plans on buying a phat. If you haven't read it please read it carefully, it makes sense if they make the price of rares at this little store the current market price. Just read it duke. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=253802

Your pw and sn were problably intercepted because of lack of sercurity on a computer you used. I wouldn't say hacked, high-jacked is more of prob happened to you.
-
Carpentry and Farming. Stealth wouldn't work on rs because it take alot to place in the game. But I think ninja equipment would be cool.
-
I don't see how this would make the game any eaiser, It would just make things run faster instead of waiting for someone to come around with an abyssal whip for sale just go to the AH and see if they are being sold their. It doesn't make it easier, just faster.
-
POS would be good but auction house would be better since this would centralize all merchants and 1000s of items at one place. Furthmore all items prices would stablize. It would work much like the stall and yes there would be a charge to put an item for bid. I could go on but an auction house is self-explanitory.
-
You want to solve the problem theres only 1 way to do it with out pissing everyone off. Make them more abundant by either having a guy sell them which would only be avaible by completing a huge quest. Or, by having some type of monster drop them. Thoes are the only two ways people wouldn't get pissed off and quit. Take this sugesstion to jagex, maybe they'll actually implemet it since they don't like the problem as much as everyone else, but I doubt it.

A general idea for a money sink hole....
gadien01 replied to Assassino298's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
This is a good idea, but you limit the amount to 2 rows only. The first row would be 1mill and the second row would be 10mil. It would be open to both f2p and p2p. This would help drain some money and it would give us item collectors a little more space. -
well i can understand this one being blocked.. I mean it is obvious kunt look k=c and it spells a natsy dirty word used aginst females
-
I thought of the same thing, and since death runes are sold in rune shops it would have a negitive side effect.
-
Obviouly you still don't get it. Its not about controlling general inflation. It about controlling the inflation of rares! Thats it!. And you also don't get the fact that the rares would still around their current street value when sold from the store. All this does is stablize the price of rares, by making them more abundant. They'd still be as expensive as they are now, and thus just as hard to obtain, if not harder for the simple fact that thoes stats take longer to obtain then money. Any noob can raise 20mil by merchanting or working for someone else, but stats take time and knowledge of the game to get. I guess you need bold faced words to have make a simple concept more clear
-
You are an idot. Obviouly a noob wouldn't beable to walk into a store and buy the phats and mask if this quest was ever implemented, because of the huge requirements to complete the quest. Not only that I've already stated that the phats and hallowen maks would be around the same price as their current street value. The only thing this does is stops the inflation of these items and the ability to reap huge profits. Thats it, nothing more! I think the reason you don't agree with this is because you horad a full set of phats and you are one of the merchants that causes this to be problem in the first place.
-
no you can't stop people from selling their items, but you can stablize their prices. Like this post says, if there are more phats, mask, ect... then the prices of the others will go down becasue supply increases. Thats why I wrote a quest for being able to buy rares call The Kooky Vender. Check out because I think its a good idea.
-
This will never stop. Just be content with the fact that you are doing the right thing and they are cheating.
-
You missed the fact that you don't have to cut the yew logs yourself. The only actual required skills are fishing and cooking because you can't trade the fish. Its not the fact that I can't afford Phats. I've already expalined this to you. Give me a few of days, lets say 3, and I can have 20mill. Its the fact that their prices aren't stable. If this ever came out then the Phats would still be expensive, prob around the same price they are now, but it would force the price to stablize. Thats what this quest is all about stablizing the price of tradeable rares and allowing the non-tradeable items to be bought if someone missed the holiday event.

I must warn you that this is very long read, but it has a purpose. Tell me what you think about the quest and if its worth doing for the rewards. The Kooky Vendor̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s Dilemma Goal- To get the Kooky Vendor, Zane, a potion made from the ancient fish Balmy (resembles a miniature leviathan, but its still huge, once thought to be extinct but they have been seen again) to cure his curse of unstoppable jitters. Difficulty level- Medium Hard Members quest- No Required Skills-Mining- 70,Smithing- 75, Woodcutting- 65, Cooking-83 (have to have this one), Fishing- at least 83 (have to have this one), Completed Dragon Slayer (have to have this),Ability to kill a level 130 creature. Reward- The ability to shop at his store (buy all event items and some other rare items), 600,000 gold, a Cat in a Hat style hat that is dyeable. Zane is the owner of the Kooky Shop which is located in Varrock. This shop is said to sell the rarest items in all of runescape. But as of late no one has been able to buy these items from Zane because it seems that he has gone mad. Any time he is approached he jumps, shakes, or flinches and randomly yells out strange comments mostly revolving around old children rhymes. It is your job to investigate what has befallen this Kooky Vendor. Zane- Hello You- Well you don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t seem as odd as everyone says you are. Zane- Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers! You- Whoa. Zane- Sorry I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve been cursed; An old women lived in a shoe! With the jitters. You- Cursed with what? Zane- wa-ith-th-th-th the ji- it- iters Zane- Sorry. I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve Been cursed with Jitters that̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s why I act this way. You-Is there anything I can do to cure these ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åjitters̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Å? Zane- Yes, but: his face gets redder as he says Baa, baa, black sheep! He walks over to his desk and hand you a piece of paper and mutters Instructions- Sorry about the note, but it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s the only way I can communicate with out these blasted jitters getting in the way. If you haven̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t found out by talking to me I have been cursed by the evil witch Hetty for not inviting her to the opening of The Kooky Shop. It seems she was very intrigued by the items that I had for sale and was so disappointed by being left out that she put this diabolical curse upon me. Now I can̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t stop saying childish nursery rhymes or stuttering as you already know. Since you have this piece of paper you have agreed to help me cure these jitters. I have been told by the Apothecary that the only known cure is to drink an elixir made from the legendary Balmy fish. Sadly, this fish has not been seen amongst the lands of runescape for centuries, but there are rumors that it still exists today. Supposedly, the pirate Redbeard Frank has seen this fish himself on one of his great escapades. If this story is true you must got to Redbeard Frank and ask him where to find this fish, catch it, and cook it to procure the potion that will cure these blasted jitters for good. You will be greatly rewarded if you are able to do this task for me. Go to Redbeard and ask him about the fish. Redbeard- That was some fine ale that you got for me. What can I do for ye? You- I heard Rumors that you have seen the legendary fish Balmy. Is this true? Redbeard- It be true. I did see the beast once. Many a full moon ago. You- Would you be able to take me there? Redbeard- Nay my sailing day be over. But̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ You- Some more Karamja rum.? Redbeard- No, I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve had my fill. But if you could get me a jug of Zamorack̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s Wine̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ.now that̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a mighty brew! Go to Temple of Zamorack NE of Faldor and obtain the wine. And bring it back to Redbeard You- I got the wine. Redbeard - Give here laddy. Hmm now that hit̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s the spot. Eye I can take you there if you have a boot, but I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t know how to catch the fish. You- Do you know who does? Redbeard - Eye, Ned the Fisherman̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s great-great-great grandfather was said to be the last person to catch one. He should know how to do it. Go to Ned the Fisherman You- Hello Ned Ned- Well hello what can I do for you. You- I heard that your great-great-great grandfather was the last person to catch the legendary Balmy. Is this true? Ned- Yes it is, but why do you need to know. You- I plan to catch it! Ned- You are crazy! They haven̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t been seen centuries. You- I am be, but I need to know how to catch it? Ned- I still say your crazy, but I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m willing to help a friend. He walks away for a second to retrieve a book. Looks in for a moment. Ned- Ah here it is, the trick to catch the Balmy written down in my great-great-great grandfather̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s journal. It seems that you need a special fishing pole and bait. The fishing pole is made of ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åa hook as strong as the earth itself̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

I've sugessted this pelenty of times. Seriously you can look in each post thats been done about this and find it. Aside from that I think they should have a rare item trader/seller where you can buy any rare item thats ever came out, or have the strogest creatures in both f2p and p2p drop them like 2% of the time.
-
I've been a member until something happened and they lost my card info so i got booted and no it wasn't declined the info just got lost. Anyway, this is why i think they should add some stuff to the f2p. 1) new p2p quest have come out in groves and groves and groves since it was released. The first p2p quest i ever did was the witch and boys ball one then merilin and some other stuff. How would it hurt their bizness to let some of thoes ancient quest come to f2p. 2) when p2p first came out it had sound effects and f2p didn't. with the advent of rs2 everyone got music and sound. good. but nothing else was added to f2p except runecrafting. 3) fetching is a dumb skill anyways and they brought many of the different arrows to f2p within the last 2 months, may as well bring the skill over too it wouldn't change much except that it would add rune arrows. hmm nvm that would ruin the pk blance more and shift it to rangers futher, but who knows thats a problem within the system.

It was definitly came out in 2000. I started playing when you could choose to be pker or non pker and it happened everywhere. You could be attacked by anyone with in 5 lvls of you and you couldn't switch back, It was lane so i did non pker. Then they updated it where you could switch. Never remeber al kahid ever just comming out but do remeber fishing and rune comming out. My orginal character is Ghaleon and he may ever be on the top boards still who knows. Come to think of it I think it came out january of 2000.
