Yes... it was no movement so ice spells were not an option. I think I solved the problem as well... Ok. Thanks to everyone for your input... It seems that staking is mainly luck... But I still have a theory I wish to prove with Jagex. However, do not let this bother you... It involves a lot of experience with magic staking... Ty again for all the help, I appreciate it :). Btw... I didnt get cleaned lol. So dont worry.

Lucky is not the right term :$. We did about 15 rounds today, but we have done like 15 other rounds other times. The first time I met him, he got 34 M on me in like 3 duels, but then I won like 20 M back. Next time, I won like 27 M off him in 2 duels, and this time... I won like 35 M to start in about 5 duels, then it all went downhill... He won about 8 duels, and I won maybe 3 or 4, bringing me to minus 55 Million gp... since I had to 2x him n all.

Thanks for the response :). Greatly appreciated... but I once heard somewhere that defense levels have nothing to do with magic at all... High magic is the best magic defense =\ Do you know that defense helps in magic resistance for a hard fact?

Help! I am getting cleaned! Title says it all... I lost like 55 Million gp of stuff to some guy. He's got 71 defense, 81 hp, 71 attack, 82 strength... and of course, 94 magic. We mage staked, and my stats are 92 hp, 85 str, 89 attack, 85 defense, 96 magic. Well... doesn't logic clearly show that I will win !?? Well.. sometimes, yes, but for the past 30 minutes (in which i lost over 80 M, 30 M of stuff which was originally his), it hasnt. Logic fails me again and again as I lose continuously to this far-lesser player. The rules? nothing on at all, no food drinks movement or prayer, no range, no melee, no specs. I will 2x. In the beginning, I use my attack style as defensive, and win a lot of duels... was up about 30 Million gp in fact. Then... it all came crashing down suddenly. It was the same rules. He was totally killing me. I know something was changing... since I wasnt 3 hitting him anymore, and instead, he was the one 3 hitting me. There would be duels where we just stood for like 2 minutes splashing on each other. If you were there... you would definitely have suspected that something was changed without your knowing... And I did lol. I first suspected that I was fooled by the highscores, that he gained a magic level (to 95) after he logged onto world 2. Well... after logging out and in again, he was still 94. Then, I suspected he changed attack styles. I still am suspecting that. I continued to use defensive until he was just 3 hitting me lol. Then I switched to accurate, and I lasted slightly longer, you know? But I still lost miserably for a lvl 96 mage with 92 hp. Here are the questions: I need to find out whether attack styles affect magic performance in duels. For example, does accurate beat defensive, or the other way around. With a wand on, I can reason out something in using different styles, but in a mage box! You cant even train defensive while boxing... so supposedly it doesnt matter at all. If that is not the case... I need to know if choice of spells affects magic performance in duels. I noticed that I began owning him (kinda) when I alternated spells a lot. I use shadow barrage first, then blood barrage to finish it off. Blood barrage and blood burst look entirely the same, and hit similarly too. max on barrage is 29, burst is like 21. I noticed he stuck in a few blood blitzes as well... which is far more visible than the barrage and burst situation. When I beat him... I used a combo of blood blitz, blood barrage, shadow barrage, and blood burst, so I suspected he was using blood bursts. However, that didnt hold long... I guess he caught on and started using all barrages. Anyways, sorry for the long lecture... I am just a little panicked atm =\ he won so much he is gonna go buy a purple p hat today, and tomorrow is when we face off again. I got about 120 M left in stuffz... even after losing like 55 M, but if he stakes a purple v my 120 M or something, its gonna be over fast if he still does what he is doing. Clean or get cleaned. I need some advice here. Please note whether you are completely sure or you are just guessing/inferring. Luck is also a possibility, but I dont like to narrow things down to that :S. Everyone says it is luck, but... that means I am one unlucky guy lol. Thanks in advance, and please post your thoughts :)

Aww... darnit :(. I've had a few close calls with various barrows brothers, especially dharok and karil, and sometimes verac... I never got outright hit by dharok -- its always some twisted situation. There was this one time where I had a dharok, and I was low pray. Was like 20, then it drained, and I figured I didnt want to take chance since dharok was low. I went to the other side of the door, potted, then came back to face dharok. Guess what? Forgot to flip on prayer l0l0l, *boom* 53, but I still had like 20hp left, so I flipped prayer on just in time and made it :). Next time... I was cloning dharok, got two, but I didn't attack them yet, since my prayer was 0 and I was wearing full torags + obby shield. Usually, that is more than enough to stand up to a single dharok at full hp, and they just hit 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 over and over again. Its either an 0 or a 28, and most of the time its 0's. So, I went in the room, trying to get a 3rd dharok, and guess what? The two dharoks on the same side of the room hit me hard. 28-26, at the same time xD. Just as bad any dharok at low hp. I was quite frantic, with about 30 hp left, so I clicked on the door. I guess I was kinda nervous, so my nerves were all fast. The door didnt open fast enough, so I got frantic. I clicked again. My mistake :). kay, so I went thru the door, to the other side, where there were no dharoks, BUT!! The second click... echoed right back about 2 seconds later. I walked right back into the tiger's den... l0l, crazy, innit? Dharok 1 hit me a 14, dharok 2 hit me an 0. I didnt get a chance to heal, but the hits werent that good, so I clicked again to go back to the other side. Guess what ??! it happened again! I thought I was lagging a lil, with my anxiety, so I walked right back, only eating 1 lob in between that. luckily, this time, dharoks hit double 0, so I got to the spider room. I was 0 lobs left, but prayer pots were still plentiful, so I killed both dharoks while i was at like 20 hp lol. With prayer of course. There were a few more close calls... but to this date, I have not yet died at barrows :). But when I do, its gonna be one helluva pile... xD

Great vid!! xD. Just one question for anyone though... Is full guthans absolutely neccessary? Cause I am a little hesitant to spend 11 M on full guthans... I have seen this done with full karils, except the people had full inventories of saradomin brews and super restore potions. Sara brew = 60 hp a dose + 20% def - 20% atk and str, but that is restored through the super restores, which restore 1 more prayer than prayer potions. Thanks in advance, please give your opinion. xD. 86 ranged. at the moment.

Mhm.... kewl. I am in for the easy 92 xp onyx enchants xD. Quick way from 93 to 99 mage, though I will probably use a mix of onyx enchants and fire bolts to get hits to at least 92. Great and cheap alternative to alch's and cammy teleports for xp! xD

Trust me... I've have similar experiences with Dharok :P. One time, Dharok was at like 10 or so HP, and my prayer runs out. I was kind of pihssed off, since my mage was hitting bad, and I had already used 2 doses. Didn't want to use a third just to deal 10hp, but I decided to play it safe anyway. I potted, and went through the door, forgetting to flip on my prayer lol, and in full ahrims (relatively weak). Dharok hit me a 53, and I had like 20 or 30 hp left. I was so shocked my heart skipped a few beats, but I quickly flipped to prayers and clicked on protect from melee. If I died, I would have lost about 8 M in barrows items + obsidian shield and like 100 four dose prayer pots, and a load of other stuff :P. Luckily, I did,nt.

A really effective Barrows Inventory, but its very costly :S. Here's how it went (roughly): -Used Mystic Robes -Got Ahrims top -Bought rest of Ahrims -Got Torag legs, used in tunnels -Sold Torag legs -Bought karil x-bow, used on ahrim -Some other stuff... kk... so eventually, after modifying my barrows outfit like a dozen or so times, I winded up with this, the most effective one yet :). I cant imagine a more effective one... but who knows? Next I'll be bringing guthans to barrows lol. No whip :oops:... I remember owning one for like 10 minutes, when they were like 4.5 M, but I sold it for a 100k profit at the duel arena :P. Haven't had the time to go buy another, and I am quite sure the prices will continue to fall, so not yet... :P. instead, I use the 60k alternative, dds. I restock at general store, hence the noted prayer pots (4 dose) and lobsters. When I get a barrows item (happening too often these past 3 days) I go and bank. No teleport runes because... I dont need 'em. =.= and its 2 wasted inventory spaces. This barrows inventory is basically fully self-sufficient, and I never need to go buy runes or bolt racks, since I get them from the chest, and wind up with more than I had before. I used to bring only 2 prayer pots, and did 1 barrows run per 1 trip, but then I brought 3 and did 2 barrows runs per 1 trip. Now, I bring 4 prayer pots and can manage up to 3 or sometimes (if I am lucky) 4 barrows runs per 1 trip. I mage dharok, verac, and karil with my full ahrims gear and prayers. Then, I go range ahrim with my karils and farseer helm (no prayer, if I have extra food). After, I go and mage torag and guthan, wearing the torags armor (they really cant hit through it... its quite pitiful :S). Ring of life is self-explanatory, since wealth doesn't work and with it equipped, the chance of me dying in the tunnels not due to a barrows brother is greatly decreased (only possible way is if skeleton hits a 10 through my barrows armor when I have exactly 10 hp, so you calc the odds :P). other than that, its basically useless (dharok hit me a 53 once... scared heck outta me). Goals from barrows: -Get enough runes for 99 mage -Get all barrows sets with their weapons (only 5 more items till this: guthan spear, guthan helm, dharok full without axe) -Get rich :P. I advise this method to basically anyone in the level 95's or higher. Ask me personally if you have questions, or if you wish to buy some ahrim skirts/dragon med helms. My Stats: Attack: 81 Strength: 81 Defense: 77 Hits: 87 (lotsa fire bolts on Iron Drags :P) Magic: 91 (50k to 92) Prayer: 62 Ranged: 86

Already whine about new item?! Before said it. It might useful for Bind/Snare/Entangle. :roll: Yes I'm whine because people always whine for every times new updates release. :roll: Yeah... Its very useful for saving all those water and earth runes in the stun, enfeeble, and vulnerability spells, as well as the bind/snare/entangles/confuse/weaken/curse spells.
