  1. Sounds like the party will be a great time, but 3p CT = 1p PT and I will be at work, not home until 5p. Have fun everyone with the good fortune to attend. :)
  2. Smithing and its corollary skill, mining. Lots of fun and I'm very proud of the levels I have (68 smith, 72 mining) but I'm at the point where getting another level is starting to get extremely tedious. :)
  3. And I thought I was the only anal-retentive freak... Coins upper left, tools/spare weaps top 1-2 rows, seeds (if I'm picking them up that day) down the right side, runes down the right. Food towards the top or bottom, and bones or space filling garbage all together as well. I even go so far as to group stuff within groups. Not only do I group say, shields together, if the black shields aren't together in a small, tight group, it drives me NUTS! If my Nats and Laws aren't right next to each other, it drives me NUTS! I am SO relieved to find out that I am not the only nut-job that obsesses about his invo... And don't EVEN get me started on my bank...
  4. Go back and read the 1st post in this thread. He explains the reasoning behind it. And yes, I'm thinking to myself 'Duh!' DOH! Great puzzle. Thanks for putting this together. Look forward to the one in July.
  5. Congrats, Aperson. I've given up on banging my head on the keyboard, and have now moved to the brickwall. We'll see how that goes... :wall: :wall: :wall:
  6. If you think the internet typing of these folks is bad, you should see their handwriting/spelling/punctuation on job applications. Absolutely horrific. I would have been caned by any significant adult in my life if I had dared to show someone else paperwork completed as poorly as the average job application I see. Illegibility seems to be the rule nowadays rather than the exception. (And yes, I did walk to school in the snow, uphill both ways, etc., etc., back in my day.) :P Great article. I'm very glad to see someone has made an effort to address the subject. However, I fear that only the choir is going to get the message, and they are the least in need of hearing it.
  7. Wife, 2 kids, full time job. 38 years old. Been playing for 1 1/2 years. Love seeing more older folks playing. I have been surprised lately by the number of folks that I think are in their 20-30's and later find out they are in their early teens. I think the maturity thing has more to do with the player than the number of years they've been on the planet. But I could have just been lucky. :)
  8. I think I'm out of intelligent guesses for #10. Moving on to the unintelligent ones now. ;)
  9. Anyone gotten anywhere with #10 yet? I have keyboard imprints permanently indented in my forehead from this one...
  10. RS Name: Gz_Sijan Reason for wanting to come to your drop party? I've been playing for about 1 1/2 years, and you have stuff you're dropping I've never seen, much less had a chance to own. Why should you invite me to your drop party? Any reason I give is going to sound like every other noob asking for 'phree stof plox!!!111!!!' at best, so I don't know how any reason I give is going to convince you in and of itself. I play for the fun of the game - I don't PK, I'm not huge into quests, though I have a respectable (imho) number of quest points, and I'm not a merchanter solely after wealth, and I *gasp* only have one character - and spend most of my time hammering away at building my skills up. Other than that, all I can say is that I would really appreciate the invitation. Thanks, James/Gz_Sijan PS: Regardless of whether I get an invite or not, sorry to see another of the 'old-timers' leaving the game. Good luck with whatever you take up to replace RS. PPS: Question: How much does literacy/literary quality of posts count towards getting an invite?
  11. Crud. I am an ubernoob... At least one person is done and I can't through #9... Congrats to those that got there ahead of me.
  12. I think I understand why so many people succumb to addictions... it's things like this that will drive a man to drink. How about a less gentle hint?
  13. I really don't know anymore. Between lack of sleep and the paint fumes, I'm pretty sure I'm incoherent right now. ;)
  14. I think I understood that one, and the one hobgoblin threw out. I am having a heck of a time figuring out what to do with the info I have - 12 items that need to go into a particular order, and I can't get them to line up in a rational fashion.
  15. Still stuck on 9 and just about clueless about what to try next. A gentle hint might be nice. ;?)
  16. Yes and no. All the spaces between the green lines count, even the one that look like they might not.
  17. Don't count the green pieces the same as the black or white ones.
  18. I'm going afk for about 15 mins. be back asap and we'll knock our heads together.
  19. None of my answers for the 1st translation were 3 digits...
  20. #4 was almost a 'duh, why didn't I think of that...' #5 - technology was a good clue. Think old school, way analog technology #6 - BIG hint, imho - "think outside the box" working on #7...
  21. #3 was pretty straightforward - ROYGBIV is the best clue you could possible hope to get. #4 on the other hand is a bear and a half. Thought outside the box and got a blue border around the right and bottom sides of it, and the brace on the gibbet changed. No luck other than that.
