  1. Akm762 uses Tip.it under the forum name "Lim_dul". You could try asking him. I also think Syzygy uses this forum rarely, but doesn't use his rsn as forum name.
  2. The show is up on youtube and google video already :?
  3. I'm sure if Jagex was actually sold to someone else, the game wouldn't change significantly. The current Jagex staff would stay around and keep working on it. The new owners wouldn't want to mess with a good thing. The only real change would be (probably) different advertisements, and less profits going into the Gowers' bank accounts. I trust that Andrew would only do what in the best interests of Runescape.
  4. I believe everyone (including self-proclaimed pacifists) has the capacity to take another person's life.
  5. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1160011 ... =yahoo_itp ^ There's the link to the full article :)
  6. Well, I was heading down to my early morning class today, and I picked up a copy of the WSJ to read before class. I skimmed through the front page for any important world news, and then I went to the B section (Marketplace), hoping to find something entertaining to read. To my amazement, I was greeted with the title "The Knights of Networking", and underneath was one of the CGI Runescape wallpapers. (here) The article went on to talk about Runescape, and how popular it's becoming among teenagers, for both play and socializing. According to the WSJ, Jagex demonstrated the gameplay for outside companies recently, possibly heading towards selling the business. "A person familiar with the matter says JAgex executives have indicated they wouldn't sell the business for less than $500 million. But Constant Tedder, the co-founder and CEO of Jagex, says Jagex isn't interested in being acquired right now, and hasn't placed a price on the company for suitors." The article then compares Runescape to other popular networking sites such as Myspace, noting the friend lists for easy conversations. An example is given of a woman in her twenties getting hooked on RS, and throwing a virtual birthday party for a friend, with cakes and everything. Nearly the end of the article, it confirms what we may have heard in the past about Runescape expanding to other languages. It says Jagex will focus heavily over the next 18 months on translating the game into other languages, such as German. However, my favorite part of the article was when it said how Jagex celebrates each time they hit a milestone. For their most recent "jolly", they'll soon charter a jet and send the entire company to the Canary Islands for a beach party. It was a very good article, not only for advertising Runescape to parents who read the WSJ, but also for displaying how popular it already is. I tried to find a link for this online, but you'd need to sign up on WSJ.com for a free trial to read the whole article.
  7. Theres a guy named "wyswys" who has like 48mil cooking exp, but it might be an autoed account. (or just a skiller that only likes cooking)
  8. Sell it to the general store in Lumbridge. :P
  9. I actually laughed out loud in real life when I saw the commercial last week for the first time. It looks rather creepy; I can't see anyone having too much fun with it, unless they find other ways to make it fun... Like the below links show  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2FEj5BC http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyCrVHxS8JU ...does the TMX remind anyone else of this classic child's toy?
  10. Just got 5 of em for the hell of it 8-) Now I'll have something that 99.9% of other pure f2pers don't have \
  11. I rarely talk in-game anyways so I'd definitely keep playing. IRC and forums would still work quite well to communicate with other RS'ers.
  12. Looks like another great event you guys have put together :D I'll try to make an appearance, hehe
  13. You can't really make quick cash with 35 fishing. The best you could do is fly fish and try to sell the trout/salmon to people, but don't expect to make much money. Try to get high enough level for lobsters, they sell for more than trout/salmon, and have more market demand.
  14. I'm in my third year at the University of Scranton, majoring in accounting and probably minoring in Criminal Justice. Scranton is a nice sized city, plus its within driving distance of Philadelphia and Syracuse.
  15. When I log off my account in RS, my account logs into RL and starts playing as me
  16. I made my main in the spring of 2003, so I was able to noob around in RS1 for a year or so until RS2 was released.
  17. 1218 total, 99 combat (f2p) 12.303 \
  18. Then it would still take over 130 straight days to get 200m exp in herblore, and thats playing 10 hours a day, each day, just to max out one skill. If you could get 1.5m exp/day in every skill, without Jagex adding any new ones, it would take 8 full years to get 200m exp in each skill.
  19. I skill, but that's led me to getting a quite decent bank also. Money definitely isn't unimportant, but I'd much rather train skills than merchant.
  20. I actually like this more than the Security Stronghold update \ The lessers definitely look more hellish than before, as do all the demons. The hill giants look kinda goofy, but they're still better than before :D

I doubt it'll be a top seller. There are so many fan sites around that you can get whatever info is in there for free. (Since it says 'Official', I have to assume Jagex gave her permission to write it) But like Trix said, it may bring another influx of players into RS if it gets enough marketing and such. Hopefully if new players have that guide, they won't have as many questions when they first start. If anything, this'll help Jagex get more players starting to play Runescape, since grade school students will see the ad and get curious about what RS is.
  22. I'd put the 3+ mil exp in cooking I've gotten after 99 and put it into smithing. I hate training smithing, and I'd still be 99 cooking so it'd work out quite well for me.
  23. F2p has enough for me as it is, and I still have a long way to go before mastering each available skill. Besides, as a f2per, I at least have above average stats. If I became p2p, I'd be one of 20,000 (?) people around 100 combat, rather than be seen as higher levelled in f2p. And there are much better things I could spend $60/year on, such as 1/3 of a college textbook #-o
  24. I like wearing a wiz (g) hat when ranging. It looks nice and kinda helps because I cast "curse" on the lessers to bring em closer to me so I don't need to chase my arrows all over.
