It's just one of those things people associate with to be creepy and mysterious and then they look around for signs or creepy stuff which freak them out further. Most of the stories about them are also made up, more myth then reality. Me and a friend played with it and I remember we saw a massive spider afterwards just above us in this web. Creepy then, normal now. The spiritual side of things tend to scare people, but for me it's honestly mostly just crap people make up.

Errr.. it tells me that the average MMORPG player is addicted? 24 hours a week is the average. Holy [cabbage]. I'd consider more then 2 hours a day addictive, but 3 hours? That's getting serious gameplay. And isn't your first data also a bit biased towards people who have subscribed to the game? This doesn't include all the little crazy addicts who are addicted to the "free" drugs :)

Maddox was quite funny, but his lack of posting and care for his site and also his recent lack of any really good articles makes me not like him anymore. Ninjapirate however has stepped into his place quite well. His articles are much more entertaining and he actually updates. Maddox just [bleep]es about [cabbage]-all lately and isn't funny at all :\

Obviously none of you have. :wink: In case you haven't noticed, those who have quit are willing to admit they are addicted, those who haven't are simply in denial. Addiction is not what most of you think. Bad side effects happen from addiction to a game. The side effects of drugs will not follow you for the rest of your life. Quitting school is a sign of addiction, but I was addicted and I didn't quit school. My grades did suffer though, but I must admit that after quitting the game I have improved myself substantially. Noone has posted any counter-argument evidence yet compared to my evidence. No. I have evidence. Substance can be defined as my use of the word. Yay someone agrees with me. Therefore I rest my case.

Cool, so you agree that at least 25% of people are addicted to games :) This is not taking into account the mass amount of players who are inevitably addicted through other games you mentioned, thus raising the average far above 50% I would imagine :). You claim you earn money on poker, thus taking money from other people and making them unhappy. This is illegal for your age. You're not trying to help through your experiences. I've spent maybe 1 hour replying, all while researching. People who play baseball 30 hours a week by definition are addicted. And yes I have a life, but no I don't want to go out and have the life you evidently describe due to the fact it's pointless and even more wasteful then wasting time on MMORPGs.

You can't legally make money from Runescape unless you work for them, and at your age you can't legally make money from Poker either. I can make [cabbage]loads of money from selling drugs illegally as well, but I consider it a poor decision. You say you have $1200... from your part-time job? You didn't say anything about making the money from Runescape.. did that ever occur to you? 5-6 Hours of sleep a night will not allow your body to properly do the repairing and needed tasks every night either, a poor life decision. Possibly you only sleep 5-6 hours so you can play Poker and Runescape.. aka addiction aka proving my point. Your views are based on your sole views and not on facts. That ends that argument. On top of that your definition also fits the view of MMORPGs being drugs. You absorb them through your mind and become addicted to get pleasurable effects.
