I liked your signature quote...games are meant to be played and enjoed, and by autoing you miss the primary point of the game...which is to have fun! -

Tip.It Times Presents: Pure Essence, Pure Disaster?

I like the 3 number idea - it's so random that it wouldn't have much interference in the game...although lagg would be a problem for some ppl on the time limit -
Tip.It Times Presents: The Exclusive ZEZIMA Interview!

Great article through to the very end, he seems like a guy that has his head on straight and knows his roots (Classic) - I liked hearing that he sees himself as equal to Novalyfe and the_old_nite. I'm suprised he spends so much time on the challenge scrolls, I never could get into the rhythm of doing them due to how rare i got the challenges should've asked him what his thoughts were on the new Pest Control game -

i like that idea too...they could give them the benefit of the doubt by making the requirement 25 rc lvl, but the idea is strong...peronally i don't think the lvl 30 mining lvl is much of a punishment...seems like a slap on the wrist, i bet i could make a new character and get his mining lvl up to 30 in about an hour if i tried! -

from what i remember, before rs2 was introduced these were some of the rune prices: Bloods: 2k each Death: 1k each Law: 1k each Nature: 350-450gp each Chaos: 300-400gp each Mind: 40gp each -

I think this was just another article that puts down Jagex! I think the update was well thought out and perfect for what they were attempting to adjust. Do any of you realize that it only takes a little less than 2700 rune essence to get 30 mining? That means in 100 trips you'll have high enough mining to get the pure essence. It would even take less time to just mine tin or copper to get to that lvl and mine your pure essence. To the people that were free server players, didn't have a high enough mining lvl, and spent "millions" on essence...they got what they deserved! Get the lvls and get your skills up! I doubt there are many ppl that fit all these criteria, but if you do, you're an idiot for spending "millions" stocking up on something you can't even use. This article almost sounds like somebody is feeling guilty about macroing, or like they've been "found out" and they want to take it out on the same game that compelled them to do this act...stop whining and making up situations, and just play the game! -

just to add...i wouldn't even go as far as calling him a kid...he has a master's in EE, which usually takes about 6 years....so I would guess he might be about 24 - that's a pretty big kid...hey N0valyfe, how bigga boy are ya? by the way, I gotta 42 on the quiz -

By far the stupidest comment i've heard in this topic. These forums are about runescape, and who is the subject in this topic that everyone is talking about? Or did you not even read through the whole thing? don't be taking my words out of context by the way, I couldn't read the whole article through all the smug -

You're a idiot. If the man choose this to be his life, let him be. He's happy, then who are you to judge whether he wasted his life or not? BTW, grats to him for beating the game. to novy...love the name! to prima...he hasn't beat anything, cept himself, which i'm sure he does (spending 12 hours A DAY on a computer game)...lol...little vulgar, but nobody heard that MUST I REPEAT IT AGAIN??? - HE HAS NEVER SET FOOT ON A RUNESCAPE CLASSIC WORLD!!! He is a nobody in the world of runescape, and he must not have a life or is macroing to gain that amount of xp in the little time that he did The key words there are "only when i don't need to go to school"...and i am glad you still keep school ahead of runescape, I have heard of some cases where kids skip school, go to the library and play this game all day...this is what I found BAD about the interview, the guy doesn't realize that ppl DO look up to him, and by saying that it takes a dedication to the game (i.e. 10-12 hours EVERYday) he has sent a message to a lot of little kids that it is alright to spend that much time...and when he says 10-12 hours a day, he IS talking about everyday of the week, Monday thru Sunday, 52 weeks a year... I just hope that everybody rereads the news article that was published on March 23, 2006 And if you're really looking for a good read, and maybe a laugh, check out the "Health and Safety" or "Responsible Gaming Policy" of Runescape -
Tip.It Times Presents: N0valyfe Speaks!

First of all, i wasn't deciding what he does with his life, I just felt like he came across as if it was okay to spend 10-12 hours a day (which means everyday) to play runescape. I have spent 12 hours at a time on runescape, maybe more, but what keeps me sane is not playing it for a week and doing something more productive, this is the message that should be emphasised to the youth that plays the game and reads the "Tip.It Times", that you don't need to play the game for 2 years straight, getting your skills all up to 99! Take your time and enjoy your life away from the computer. Second, he doesn't own the game, he's only been playing it for less than 2 years, he's probably never set foot on a classic world, and I've heard it a lot lately and I agree with it, RS2 is easier! What about the few of us old school players that enjoy going back to our roots on Classic just to appreciate where we have came from in the last 4 years (maybe 5) and pay homage to how the staff of this great game has consistantly expanded the game and our minds with their creative ideas. -

No disrespect to N0valyfe, but Y2g2003 explained it very well. I was just about turned off from the whole article when I read that he has played since july of '04!!! What? That's not even 2 years, that was after the major release of RS2! He is showing off his bank account like it's an accomplishment! - you have no life, you spend "10-12 hours a day" and you say that to be one of the best it takes an "every-day dedication to the game"! - that's a horrible way to live, and I don't refer anybody with a weak mind to read this article! So after reading my last paragraph, I take that first comment back, I do mean disrespect! I do not consider myself as an "elite" player. However, I have been playing since august of '02, and at that point "the_old_nite" was a god of the time, but I assume that he always played in moderation. I would always check the high scores to see if anybody was even near him (which there wasn't for a while), and when there was, his xp total didn't move much (which I saw as him taking time off from the game) - which is what everybody should do! - the best way to enjoy the game is to take a week off and play a sport, be a weekend warrior on Runescape, but be active when you're away from it. I would even bet that this is the reason that some of the top players (i.e. Zezima), aren't too inclined to talk about their lives, it brings out their flaws, and I hope the younger players are able to realize that runescape is addictive and it takes a mature person to actually succeed in the game (which N0valyfe hasn't)! -
Tip.It Times Presents: The Greed Factor
clayton_2003 replied to oddfaery2's topic in General Discussion
You must not be doing it right if it takes you 3 hours to make 1k law runes! - you should be able to use the first 3 pouches, and by using them you should be able to make 43 law runes per trip, also if you take a glory ammy and teleport to draynor after you bind your runes then it goes a little faster...usually I can make 1k law runes (36 each trip with the large pouch) and pick up about 700 seaweed (25 each trip) and that will take me about 3 hours. If you don't think that timewise you are doing very well, try a new skill....crafting, smithing, and fletching are easy skills to make money (by high alching what you make)!
