  1. Eh? What you say? I attended this event, and in my view, it simply was a larger scale version of our last week's event: "Monk's Pilgramage." I saw the faults in both with people trying to kill their team leader, and fighting amongst themselves. But in the end, for both events - once we got to the battlefield location, it was a great time. I enjoyed myself, and the battle was an thrilling experience. So what do you think TET could get out of this event? Don't worry, I'm not angry or anything, but any advise to help TET host better events, is good for me. ^^ ~ZidaneCT
  2. Aww don't be mad I type faster than you. ;) Next time make sure you check every single word you type before you type anything from now on, b/c I'm sure you have made an error or two before. Don't flame someone on how they made a typo. (very mature..) Also this topic wasn't flaming jagex decision to put a bank there. It was a discussion of was it nescessary. Pfft. Discussion or not, it seems for every constructive comment of why the bank is a plus, is responded to by a unconstructive rant. The bank is a nice touch, something I thought was needed ever since RSC. As you seem to enjoy belittling the ability of new players to play the game so much, let me bring up this point: would it take the same amount of effort and thought to figure out there is a bank on the top floor, as much as it is to travel to with Draynor, Al Kharid, or Varrock? It's not like there is a "$" symbol found on the ground floor. So either option takes some sort of higher cognitive ability. The point of the bank, is simply to have a bank, at the starting hub of the game. When you get off Tutorial Island, your inventory is packed with new items. Wouldn't it be nice to deposit these items off the get go, so you can start interacting with the environment without a full inventory? And in case they do get lost and die while in route to another bank, before they find one, they would then have to start from scratch item-wise, which would probably lead to negative outcomes like begging. The bank is a win-win situation across the board for F2P, and a plus for P2P, cept' to the people who got all angry over a reward bonus lost in RFD. That is all. ~ZidaneCT
  3. I want to thank everyone who attended, for their words, wisdom, stories of their experiences, and remembrances. It was a lovely service. I was glad to remember the victims of that day, that many will surely not forgot. We had server troubles end the remembrance, so I'll close off with saying, "Lest we forget.." ~ZidaneCT
  4. 1 hour til the Remembrance from the time of this post. See you there. ~ZidaneCT
  5. Just as give people an update, from the time of this post, it is 3 hours until the Remembrance. I can hope that all goes without disruption or difficulties. ~ZidaneCT
  6. ^^ What he said. This is always the problem with holding memorials though, the question is left to stand as to why it doesn't happen for other events. I know you mentioned this in your original post, but still. I don't remember ever seeing a Holocaust memorial event, and considering over 6 million people were killed in the holocaust, you would think that someone would think to do it. It's all to do with current affairs, people seem to be more affected by things that have happenned reently, but forget that whilst remembering the happenings of events such as 9/11 is all well and good, there are really no lssons to be learnt from it. There is a lot to be learnt from events like the Holocaust. I think it's nice that people want to respect the dead and hold a remembrance service for them, but I don' think it's necessary to do it in game. It would be much better to do it in real life. Just my views, I'm prepared for the flaming I'm going to get  I haven't forgotten those tragedies myself, and have even mentioned them in previous remembrances. Though, once you mention one tragedy, people ask why an similar one isn't included, and thus the list compiles. That's why I am keeping the event singular in default, while allowing the people who attend to bring up the ones that also impacted them personally. On the issue of that it should not take place in Runescape, it's a matter of preference, and I do understand your points. But not everyone has access to real life remembrances or thus forth. Everyone has their methods, real life or in-game, personal or amongst others, to pay respects. ~ZidaneCT
  7. ~ September 11th Remembrance V ~ <>{ Hosted by ZidaneCT }<> //> This event is not sponsored or affiliated with the Tip.it Events Team (TET) in any way; hosted personally by ZidaneCT as a separate entity. / Hello Everyone. As noted by the roman numeral in the title, this will be my fifth year hosting a Sept. 11th Remembrance. My first remembrance took place all the way back in 2002, back in Runescape Classic. Over the years I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve remained at the same Ice Mountain, though it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s figure has changed from the days of Runescape Classic, it remains a tranquil and peaceful locale. We shall return to the mountain once more, to pay our respects, and hope for a brighter future for all. We each have our own accounts and memories of that day, and for myself, I still remember that day clearly. Started that day just as a normal day of middle school... with limited details being given out, and later being given verbally what had happened. Even then, I didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t know the scale of what was happening. With my father working for the government, I worried if he was alright, if he was targeted? In my case, I had no visuals until I got home and saw them on the TV and online. I didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t even know what the World Trade Center was exactly until the day, but I knew after the event. I learned that the world isn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t a simple, happy place, war and terror is real, not just something in a far-away land that couldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t affect me. It opened my eyes to the tragedies that occur worldwide, and the suffering and pain that is a reality. Everyone was impacted differently. A great loss of life, with a new existence of reality following. Onto the details of the Remembrance: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Date: Monday, Sept. 11, 2006 Time: 5:00 PM EST, 4:00 PM CST, 3:00 PM MST, 2:00 PM PST, 10:00 PM UK Location: Ice Mountain (Above Fally) Server: 85 (F2P - NYC) Attire: Formal Attire (No Armor Please) Reason: To remember the victims of Sept. 11th & hope for peace and tranquility in the future. Notes: Read Below. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In-depth information about the event, that you should note; as well what this event / post is and is not: We will be meeting on the summit of Ice Mountain, which is north of Falador and south of Black Knight Castle. Once there, you may pay your respects, say brief words, say a poem, remain silent and listen, or other offer other tokens in your own personal approach. In paying respect, you are not limited to Sept. 11th, it is perfectly fine to speak of other tragic events that relate more closely to yourself, or has impacted yourself or others. I would request that you don't wear no actual metal armor or weapons, although robes, clothes, and staffs (other hand items that are not weapons) are fine. There really isn't no set plan of events, we will go with the flow, the people who attend leading the event along. I do understand that over the course of human existence, other sad events have brought disruption and loss of life, in tragedies of both current times and of the past. There's a long list that I could never put here in its entirety. Overshadowing them, or considering them less significant ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ is not the point of this event. We all differ, and we each hold in our experience, memories of many tragedies ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ past or present, that we will not forget. The event will follow generally what the event describes. But like I mentioned above, if you wish to bring up thoughts or words for your own personal remembrances, go right ahead. I would wish that politics would not be brought up, as the nature of it is volatile. It shouldn't become an issue of countries or other arguments. Deep discussion is more suited for Off-Topic or the event itself, not this forum post. As well, some people think it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s pointless to bring such an event into Runescape. Think as you will, but it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s another outlet for people to speak their minds. As for the event itself, the last thing we need is people coming to cause trouble, so please be respectful. Let's just keep it calm. ~Sept. 11th Remembrance I~ "In Remembrance of those days... Never forget them..." On the above image, I remember one Tip.it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢er that actually lost his father in the event. When he and his mother saw the image, they cried together. Touched me in a way, myself. My heart goes out to the people who lost loved ones. I hope to yet again to remember all those people who lost their lives that day, and to hope for a brighter road for the future. Thank you. ~ZidaneCT
  8. Nathaninch; an oldbie party host that I sure am glad I met. Sad to see you go. You were one of the key people who brought TET from a pipe dream, to a reality, and from a reality, to a staple of the Tip.it Community. I truly admire the work and dedication that you brought to TET. Too bad I was retired so long during your leadership duration, that I didn't get to work along side you more in the later days. When I speak of TET's history, and the history of RS in general, your name is sure to be mentioned.. I'll make sure to alert you for the next Classic Freak Train I host, with a bunch of oldbies included! We'll "Choo Choo" down memory lane, and "throw green" like ole' Lead did. I hope to see you again then. Best of luck with your new family -- your wife and child. Instead of planning parties for Runescape, you'll be hosting your baby's birthday parties! Just remember... dropping cake and beer on the floor isn't the way to go. Best of luck in life, Nathan. ~ZidaneCT
  9. I haven't been to a party that someone else hosts for a long while, it is usually me doing the hosting or the planning. That's the life of a TET / RPHC party host. Heh. I'll definately be making an apperance, and taking a notice to see how player owned houses can be used for future TET events. Party Masta' Ziddy needs to get out. ^^ Good luck with hosting, and expecially the trivia contest with the large crowds that are sure to be there. Having done it for RPHC/TET's Halloween & Christmas Bashes, it can be hell. With people all answering at the same time, it's almost impossible to determine the winner. My advice, make sure you have your friends also watching, so you can discuss together who is the winner, and continue swifty during the trivia section of the event. Re-reading, I see you actually got a strategy, sounds good, but you still gotta watch out for the crowd. See you there! ~ZidaneCT
  10. "Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. "Mankind." That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight!" We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!" Best Speech ever...! ~ZidaneCT
  11. Yes, the event is over. Null X001 came back from the dead, and had a good time as a result from that decision. Good times. I'll be sure to host another "Clone" type event in the future, so keep your eyes peeled for another great TET event. Chow for Now. Woo? ~ZidaneCT (a.k.a. Null X001)
  12. I regained "Null X001," getting his old password through sheer luck. Null X001 (As well, as Null X000) lives! Wootsauce! Maybe he'll make a quick visit. :) ~ZidaneCT
  13. Hey Everyone! ZidaneCT here! Some of you may remember as the one who invented, and hosted the "Doppleganger" and "Null" clone-type events of the past. As a member of TET, and the leader of my own RPHC (Runescape Party Host Committee), I wish to thank Trojann2 and Arctic Runite for their excellent work on getting this event back for your entertainment. I take great pride in other party hosts bringing back this event, and you guys, for your excitement as well. It's always great to see people remembering previous events that you hosted. :) Onto some history, since I feel historical tonight: It's not surprising that some folks didn't get the name correctly under the format, or got the dressing format correct, but as I learned from my previous Doppleganger and Null events, even if you try your best explaining in directions to prevent it, someone always messes up. That's one of the wild cards in event planning and hosting. =P I'll definitely be there tommorrow for the [TET Clone] Freak Train, not sure of my TETFTW number name yet, but I'll be there to help host and make this event an success. For the wild section of the event, remember, we always have clans and random PKer's ready to slaughter us. So just don't attack surprised and have some fun with em. Nothing wrong with hide and seek, eh? Let's have a Clone-tactular day tommorrow! ~ZidaneCT
  14. The Attack of the Nulls.... Prepare Yourselves... Terror and Confusion... Cities will fall... The Wild will be ours... July 30, 2005...
  15. I'll add to this debate, for World of Warcraft PVP, on the topic of the Battlegrounds. Battlegrounds has been what Blizzard has been working on even before release, and not too long ago it was put on a Test Realm for people to test. I've played alot of Battlegrounds since it's release, and I'll tell you it's alot of fun. Currently, there is two Battlegrounds open. Alterac Valley (Major Battle - 40 People on Each Side = 80 Total) and Warsong (Capture The Flag - 10 People on Each Side = 20 Total), with more to be opened in the future. I can say that both are great fun. Alterac Valley is Massive. Basicially the goal is to Capture/Destroy certain points such as Towers/Garrisions and Graveyard, and in the end Capture the Enemy Base and kill their Leaders. The Battle can range on for hours, the Battlefield is Massive, and there is a bunch of Quests inside the Instance that you can do to help your side. For example, loot blood from your fallen enemies to summon a Giant Ice Lord, or Bring Armor Scraps to you Blacksmith to Upgrade your troops. It yields you also alot of Honor Points, which increases your rank on the PVP scale, and increases your Reputation with whatever side your on, to get Powerful Armor and Weapons. It's great fun. For Warsong, It's a simple CTF game. There is a few special boosts, but otherwise, you're playing against 10 others to win. These games go alot more faster the Alterac, but are still alot of fun. PVP outside Battlegrounds is fun too. Although, there is usually Zerging sometimes, and Rogues ganking you, It's always fun to hunt down the opposite side, and defend your outposts when Alliance attacks. The newly added Honor System is pretty cool as well. Always nice to get Rewards for killing. Here's some Links with Information. They explain better then I do: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/pvp/hono ... m-faq.html --> Honor System http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/pvp/battlegrounds.html --> Battlegrounds FOR THE HORDE! ~ZidaneCT
  16. Hehe. I'm not Surprised the LEEERRROOOYYYY JEEEENNNKKKINNS craze have reached Tip.it. I play WoW as well, regardless if you play or not, it's still funny as hell. It's a term that is common in WoW now, and Leeroy Jenkins comes up alot. On the Test Server testing Battlegrounds, there is Leeroy Jenkin Guilds. According to Urban Dictionary: n. 1: One who does not grasp the concept of caution. 2: One whose success is based purely off relentless aggression and pure luck. 3: One who likes chicken. 4: One whose battle cry consists of their own name. v. 1: To destroy all hopes of success. 2: To rush headlong into danger without regard to consequences. 3: To satisfy one's own desires at the expense of all around oneself. - I can't believe he just tried to headbutt that dragon. What a Leeroy. - We were doing great until that idiot totally Leeroyed us. - The party was really boring until Bob pulled a Leeroy. So the next time you run into a dangerous situation, yell out your name as your battle cry! Or just use Leeroy Jenkins! Leeroy for the Win! And on the topic of WoW, who also plays it? Basicially all the Tip.it'er's I know play Alliance. Horde pwns the Alliance. Gnomes are smelly! For I am Torenos, Level 60 Tauren Warrior, on the Server Warsong (PVP). I own you all! FOR THE HORDE! ~ZidaneCT
  17. If your willing to donate that money to the party fund, I can be enslaved for 30k. Rawr. ~ZidaneCT
  18. Lol you didnt edit your post haha (it says edited last on xxxxxx if you edit it). Heh usually you write EDIT if you edit it but I see now what you were trying to do haha. Only does that if someone else posts to the thread before you edit... Nonetheless, it's still open for 2 more days :P I feel so stupid now heh. I was big into pokemon cards in grade 5. My rattatta kills your wannabe sandshrew. god this is stupid eh? Oh yea how did your eeveeee get raibies? You must have bitten it or something. ash + misty = rabies ash + misty + pokemon = rabie infected pokemon :| just please, dont take it further, it only gets more scary with more cute, evil, brightly coloured creatures of doom... :| Ash and Misty aren't rabies! They are a cute couple! -fwaps Eev- Bad! Remember as a reminder, whoever wins Oergg also gets me as a slave, as an extra bonus, as a party host myself, since I personally want to thank whoever helps to make a cool party in the future. ~ZidaneCT
  19. I feel generous, so whoever buys Oergg, also gets me as a slave. I wouldn't mind being a slave again. :P ~ZidaneCT
