Thy argument is illiogical naive squire. They believe that God was invented to give people power, and they misuse that power. Religion Invented ----> 'Superior' people rise -----> Superior people abuse their power. Our arguments are based on the perspective that religion is false, your counter-argument is based on that you think it is true. My counter-argument is based on that the whole religion thing is irrelevant to God's existence. Religion and God may be different things, but how can you believe in a God with nothing to back it up? Religion is your argument to Gods non-exsistence.

Live your life and make others a bit more bearable, in my view, we are all alone, we must look out for eachother because some Omnipotent being aint doing it for us. A world without god = Meaningless, Lonely, pointless, complex... Thats why god was invented, to give meaning, give hope, make a point, make stuff easier to understand. I hate it, because its false hope, false logic, overshadowing the better issues of life.

dinosaurs and man co-existed. It is suprising that we should evolve so little in millions of years... We have evolved into machinery only in the last 100 years.
-
Chance that mutation is favourable? With millions of different mutations on a sub atomic and genological nature, I would hardly call the chances that varied. I guess the chances are about 99% for a favourable mutaion (geneologically) Evolution isnt intelligent, weeding out the unfortunate isnt humane, but its natural. You prove my point: "God created life." *Evolution comes along* "God probaly used evolution to create life."
-
Evolution and survival of the fittest run hand in hand. We wouldn't exsist if a comet hadn't wiped out the dinosaurs. How can you evolve if theres a t rex on your [wagon]? Natural selection is NOT about traits showing up by chance, infinite mutations occur, if the mutation is good then that microbe or speices will be better than the other, he or she will get more partners and be better than the others. If the mutation is bad, the organism is killed off coldly. Survival of the fittest.

As an atheist i find that believing or not believing wasn't a decision, it was just that way for as long as i can remember - no one influenced me to believe or not believe, i just plain didn't. I think that a lot of atheists are atheists for this reason. They never made a conscious choice not to believe in God, but it just never fit into the way they thought about the world. At least, that's true for me. For me, its [cabbage], and no one told me it was [cabbage], I attended church as a kid (forced to) yet still knew it was [cabbage]. Seems to me like the biggest scam in the world, some guy trying to declare himself king so he can rip people off.

Actually the biggest topic was "discussion on religion" It was like 46 pages long or longer. Edit: yeah, I am a christian. I believe in god. No, there was a discussion called "Do you believe in god?" it reached around... 120 pages before the mods stole it as it messed their moderation abilities up.

Theories dont explain observations and evidence. It's the other way around. And evolution and the big bang are unproven theories which scientists have yet to be able to find enough evidence to explain coherently, imho 8) Evolution hasnt been proven? Dangnabit, must have been my imagination when someone posted the link to some proof.

Debating = Arguing Uncontributive and unintelligent = The_Coolness

If something has not been disproved, then it is still possible, no? God is outside of this universe, he is supernatural. He cannot be directly studied, observed, or proven. Therefore, since he cannot be proven or disproven, his existence is still a possiblity, not to be completely discarded as myth. prove P Pronunciation Key (prv) v. proved, proved, or prov̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâ÷en (prvn) prov̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâ÷ing, proves v. tr. To establish the truth or validity of by presentation of argument or evidence When something cannot be proven then it is false. When a false idea is thought to be true then it is a THEORY. When one believes that a theory is true because people have claimed it, and NOT for scientic reasoning and LOGIC... I call them gullible. Theorys I dont believe in: God (Illogical, everything has a beginning, an infinetly complex being cannot exsists for an infinite time) The Big Bang (Also illogical, something cannot be created out of nothing.) Theories I believe in: Evolution

Learn the mistakes of the past, and dont make them in the future. So, with the hundred of religions in the world, you still consider it 'safe' to believe in God? And what if another religion turns out to be true? Boy would your face be red :P .

You are using the constant state as a basis for your argument. What about renewal? The world around you regularily breaks down and rebuilds itself on subatomic levels. Its like the legend of the pheonix, from the ashes of the past, the future will be born. You talk of god and claim everything else is impossible? That is completely unreasonable, you said it yourself, a being that has been for all eternity. Ifgod isnt physical, then he exsists only in your mind. Your bizaree reasons are nothing more than an attempt to justify the impossible.

Why must it be god as you see him?
-
Creation is like this Unintelligent inanimate object coming into being through a simple process, implosion, explosion and renewal? V Intelligent being capible of doing everything and knowing everything coming into being and making something so infinetly complex, AND manage to design it in a way that life forms. Which seems more plausible? Inta-Chicken? Or bacteria mutating into a nucleus, forming a protective cover where an embryo grows inside, producing an animal that with enough procreation, gives us the chicken?

The second law of thermodynamics states that given enough time, all matter will break down into it's smallest possible particles. Surely eternity is enough time ;). The universe still seems to be somewhat structured :). I like mad's loop idea, Reminds me of homers theory of a doughnut shaped universe  .

Science does need something "greater" then what is possible according to science in order to support it's existence. Let's go back in time. Back all the way to the beginning! *booooooooom!!!!* the big-bang! What caused the big bang? an imploding universe? What caused this imploding universe? What caused that? It's an endless line of cause and effect. This would mean that there is no beginning. Something without a beginning? Doesn't that sound as something not from this world as something that is impossible? Or was there a beginning that had no cause? I'd say something without a beginning or cause is definately supernatural. There is No way to describe t=0 without the description being supernatural. It can't be explained by science because there can be no causality at t=0. The funny thing is that we can never know what t=0 really is. How can we know of something that we cannot understand with normal logic whether it really is the beginning or something that happened after the beginning?? this supernatural beginning could be the christian god or whatever you want it to be, if you believe that bush created everything then I got no way to prove that you're wrong. For me that means that I respect all different faiths as long as they do not claim to be the one and only true religion. What I believe in is pretty much Spinoza's pantheÃÆÃâÃâïsm with as "super natural beginning" the formation of laws of nature. But well like I said I can't really know :P btw: the da vinci code is a GREAT book I can recommend it to everyone. the bernini mysterie written by the same person is also a great book What created the creator? You cant use and argument to support your cause when your argument defeats your cause at the same time.

Respect...others? *kaboom*
-
No, I do not. To believe in God is nothing short of gullible.

That game is cool, I've played it with a friend. I dislike the font colour, the background is low quality but the font itself is good. 6/10
