  1. I guess I will be the first to recommend Java. It is less complicated then C/C++ (no pointers, garbage dump), yet more powerful then VB and Pascal/Delphi. I have 5 years of experience with Pascal, and a couple with VB and Java, and the most powerful so far is by far Java. Just get a hold of the OOP concepts first, from some online tutorial or something.
  2. Hello. The problem your experiencing is not client side, it is server side. That URL cannot be found on my PC either. That path that your noticing (res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm) is simply a windows file that is called whenever your browser experiences a DNS error.
  3. Hi. No, it cant be a matter of dimensions exceeding 80X80 or the error message would be something like "File size cannot exceed 80 x 80 pixels", what your problem is probably wrong file extension or too many large graphics.
  4. Hi Kiel, I recommend water cooling. Only con is that it can be a disaster to set up, but once you get it hooked up you can run your pc at about 39C average. Search Newegg.com for Water Cooling if your interested.
  5. Hey, Exactly which Logon window are you talking about? The Windows Account Logon?
  6. To answer question three, yes, you will need to open your computer to install a new video card. Installing RAM however, is very easy, and will take you about 40 seconds. I dont recommend installing a new video card until you have some more experience though.
  7. That is good for a first script. Mine was a hello world type... You should get the book Learning PHP 5(O'reilly) if you want to learn alot more.
  8. Hey Punk4Ever, I have a great solution to your problem, as I was in the same situation last year. I went with a laptop, because it really does make a difference when you are in college, you will sometimes want to take it to your classes or the library, etc. All around better machine to have in a college atmosphere. As to which one you should get, I would go with the Dell XPS Gen 2 : http://www1.us.dell.com/content/product ... l=en&s=dhs It has dual ddr2 memory, great battery life, excellent video card and a good processor. I highly recommend this laptop to anyone, I bouhgt gen 1 last year, and it hasnt put me down yet.
  9. Hey Username388, I can probably help you, I just dont quite understand the problem. What do you mean RuneScape has to download every time you play? Do you get a "RuneScape has Updated, please refresh this page" error? If not, please tell me exactly what it says. Also, the JDK is a software development kit, used for writing programs in Java. What you should get is the Java Runtime Enviornment 1.5.0_4 (update 4), which is the latest and most stable version, and you are using update 1. If you want to update your JRE to update 4, jsut go to My Computer>Add or Remove Programs> and then Remove J2SE Runtime Enviornment 5.0 Update 1. Now go to the following link to download the latest version: https://sdlcweb4b.sun.com/ECom/EComActi ... 6E6784D31C
  10. Hi Spark_FX, I think that any Dell PC will be capable of what you are looking for. I was running adobe Photoshop, several forums and RuneScape at the same time on a Dell 4700c (cheaper model) with no problems at all. As for Dell, I cant recommend anything else. They are a great company, and have amazing customer service. If a part of your PC breaks, even after the warranty has expired, they will send you a new part identicle overnight. If you have any problems with setting up your Dell or getting it to run, theyre technicians will help soret out your problems. I would get a Dell 4700, that is a descent computer for a great price. If money isnt an issue, go for the XPS gen 4, which has superior graphics card and processor speed/RAM. The only other company I would recommend is Cyber Power Systems, go to http://www.syberpowerpc.com for more info.
