  1. How would that be better, unless they further reduced the token costs. Then you'd still need to get 80 Dung to buy the ability to wield a Chaotic Longsword, but you'd also need to spend more tokens or GP to actually obtain the item. If they reduced the "ability to wield" to like 100k tokens for a Chaotic Weapon and then sold the weapon for like 10m, I'd be okay with that... As long as you also received a "proof of purchase" item that you could use on the smuggler if you die and lose the Chaotic Longsword in order to allow you to rebuy it for half price. They also need to allow you resell items for like 75% of what you paid. I'd prefer not to have a reselling option. The game needs more legitimate money sinks. And they could just keep the prices at current levels, but just give you one free item when you initially buy the ability to use it. I just don't like the idea that it's possible to lose items that require hundreds of hours to obtain. how is this a money sink? no gp is taken out of the game. your just spending minigame... err, skill reward tokens. you should be able to get a different item if you dont like the one you bought.
  2. I'm speculating you will need the set to star the quest, so it's isn't only you ;) Then you're speculating wrong, Jagex stated after Nomads Requiem they dont want to force people to play minigames they don't want to that's why only tutorial completion was needed.. having a set is a totally absurd requirement. When does Jagex EVER keep promises? inb4 all 3 sets are required "In order to appeal more to WoW fans, rs will now be known as World of Runecraft!"
  3. wrong, its BETTER than a gs :D i got it too, found it on a lvl 131 warrior. also got promethium plate that my 99 smith friend made for me :D
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLWwWsM22eY&feature=related dude, thats just insane. congrats!
  5. i usually hate pest control, (hell, i only got full void like 3 months ago!) but i love lores and histories. this should be interesting. hopefully they will reward us with zeal, and higher def versions of void robes.
  6. can we please stop bumping the old topic? oh wait.... >_<
  7. Ah, they said nothing of the maul, and being that there is only three weapons, you'd think they'd have time to mention the third, unless it was different. So I imagine it is. or, more likely, he didnt ask, so they didnt tell.
  8. you know astronauts secretly get a kick out of buzzing the ground.
  9. all in all, awesome update. first thing i did was try the demo mode to hear the new voices. (couldn't help but think, wow, there needs to be an American voice for our characters! ) (and they said they wouldnt be adding voices to any quests when I asked the audio team about it in a Q&A. so much for that!)The reward pricing is much more reasonable now. Got myself a gem bag, no more leaving gems on the floor while slaying :D and the slayer challenges seem nice, wont really affect me tho, as i wont go to lower masters just to try them. as far as the bonecrusher, it is interesting, as i dont bother to bury normal or big bones. however, for the pice, i think ill wait until after i have chaotic long and kitesheild.
  10. Glad to see this is finally getting on topic. Also, the price reductions released today make it so that you can actually buy the items at their level requirements. However, this still doesn't change that it should have been like this from the start.
  11. more reasoned discussion, more of this, less arguing please.
  12. Hi opinion dressed as fact. How are you doing today? I've seen you a lot in this thread, but forgot to actually say hi properly. Stereotyping is fun, isn't it? What is your place of origin, ethnicity, and religion so I can have fun, too? ^_^ Now, in regards to the thread: It isn't a bad thing that Jagex releases skills with holes in the content. It allows them to develop what the players en masse want (and to change what players don't like [summoning shards, familiars, etc.]). This leads to better success of the skill in question. Some people might not agree with the method, but it is a very good method from both a business and a customer satisfaction perspective. If you want changes, you can post on the RSOF. Make a big enough noise and you'll get noticed, even if it doesn't look like it at first. wow, a calm reasoned argument that i dont agree with, and noone got hurt. (yet.)
  13. QFT. besides listed items, everything looks amazing, and i wish that i could buy them all without detracting from my goal of chaotic longsword.
  14. I have a lot of fun with summoning, actually. Gathering charms, training, and using the skill are all enjoyable to me. I also think dungeoneering is the most entertaining thing released to RS so far. My previous favorite thing was Stealing Creation. Before that, it was Slayer. You cant just say that skills "are NOT fun". It seems to me there isnt a whole lot you DO find fun so maybe a different game would be the right fix for you. granted, i dont like most skills. what i DO find fun is slayer, and hell, i do like dungeoneering itself, jsut not the points i listed before. and yes, i dont like to grind as much as i used to. agreed, but people rehashing the same lines that they use when they are flaming does.
  15. somebody who gets what im trying to say and isnt flaming?! IMPOSSIBLE! that argument would be valid, if said skills were actually "fun". hunter is a boring grind, summoning is again, another grind (tho some of the familiars are fun) and no one was talking about construction, because that was a skill done right.
  16. WHEN THEY WERE RELEASED. i agree, summoning is now indispensable.
  17. no of course not, and jagex sometimes forgets this.
  18. witch of course, allways works out extremely well.
  19. oi vey. You guys just dont get it. Im trying to avoid a flamefest. you guys just keep putting your views overtop of mine. ill say it again, i LIKE these skills, they are jsut initaly flawed. this thread was SUPPOESED to be about why jagex was blind to this. i am NOT whining about the game, i hate whiners as much as you do. if i hated dungeoneering that much, i wouldnt be playing it. and i onyl called omalii an an attention seeker rather than try to argue with him, and cause a bigger blow up. It seems the lesson here is the one of the movie Wargames... "The only way to win is not to play."
  20. i NEVER said any of these skills had nothing to add to rs. you may call me a liar, but you will NOT put words in my mouth. and for the umpthenth time, my opinions are just that. you can disagree with me, i dont care if you do. dont say that my opinions are facts, i never present them as such. coming off high and mighty does not change that. also, i will be the judge of what i have the right to think tyvm. Player A: Makes absurd statements. Player B: Refutes said statements. Player A: "lol nerd" Remember when we could have legitimate discussions? I do, but everyone seems to be in a flaming mood. not that i should be surprised. I came here to have a legit discussion, and so for the only one who has done that is qeltar. Also, I have yet to call anyone names. speakign of queltar... =D> i think that pretty much sums it up. as a player it's easy to have 20/20 vison, and not see it from their side.
  21. Translation: WARNING: THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT OPINIONS BUT IF I CALL THEM OPINIONS IT MAKES ME IMPERVIOUS TO PEOPLE CALLING ME WRONG. Are you sure Hunter was abandoned? Because these complaints I've been seeing since Hunter's release of overcrowded spots tells a different story. Summoning was only a fiasco until they made some fixes and released batch 2, after which it became a pricey change to a huge change to the game. Yes, it needed balancing after it was released, but it became eons more useful when batch 2 released. As for the batch being delayed, cry some more. Delays happen. Lulz gona maak sum nee slappurs. So the skill actually takes time to level? I'm sorry it doesn't suit your tiny attention span. You mentioned every skill after construction, but: 1. You didn't point out any problems with summoning other than that it was unbalanced at release. Obviously broken? Huge failure? Summoning was neither. 2. You didn't make any valid points on Hunter other than some lame-brain comment that it was abandoned which, if you talk to any hunters, can be easily refuted. 3. For Dungeoneering you just made some comments that it's "not a skill" and "doesn't make sense". Yes, it takes long to skill up and the very useful rewards are expensive, but other than semantics for your other talking points you bring nothing to the table. In short, you're wrong. Not only that, but you kill any valid comments you had on Dungeoneering because you threw out lies on the other skills, made yourself look like a smartass child with your regurgitated condescension (It's a minigame, er sorry, an activity). Key to Dungeoneering is it is different. Your average whiner hates change as it is, but different change? That's [bleep]ing terrifying. and you feel the need to refute every point i make to draw attention to yourself. that's all ill say.
  22. Nope, keep looking. Sure its disappointing if there's no update this week, but ill live. idc when the next skill is, and I was never a big pk'er. I was glad to see those whiny idiots go. next comment. Edit, crap, didnt realize i double posted >_<
  23. Alright, people don't seem to be getting the point of this thread.. its not about "I don't like X skill" Its about the things that were wrong with them when they were released, and why Jagex couldn't see what was wrong with them. If i go saying " Skill Y was bad, But then was then fixed by update Z and now i love it" doesn't really help me make my point. Anything Ive said about the skills were just examples.
  24. I never meant for this post to be fact. (time for a first post disclaimer....) I understand long term goals. its jsut that the "easy" levels of a skill shoundt take forever, IMO.
  25. hmm, it seems i did this wrong >_< oh well ,rest of post is still valid. I cant speak for everyone else, but personally it just seems the "skill" part of it is just forced. its too awkward. Idk, maby this will pass with time.
