The bible
But, Creationism = Christianity = Religion. And that's your opinion; while yes, occasionally there are sites such as "God created the Earth and all the heavens because the Bible is read by billions of people!!!!!" (or millions? not sure) Then, there ARE sites that back up Creationism with real facts, and I've posted those before. Ok, then. Lets say you hate vanilla icecream. Therefore you hate icecream, which is food, and by extension you hate food. Now you can plainly see how ridiculous saying TalkOrigins is against religion is. I hope so anyway. And of course there are sites which claim to have real science and facts to back up creationism/debunk evolution, but on close inspection I've never seen one hold to scrutiny. Maybe you'd like to share with me one of these so-called facts that back up creationism, preferably to do with biology and not geology so I can have a better idea of what they're trying to argue.

What are your wishes for Christmas?
Interesting choice of avatar there. Did you watch the recent series on the ABC about him? I found it pretty damn interesting myself... Tangents aside, I hope for a good Christmas with family. Just good times and good food, not interested in presents. I'm also hoping for good weather on boxing day so we can all see a great match of cricket at the MCG.

The bible
That is a totally bias website, despite its name, its whole purpose is to support theism. I don't even want to begin to disprove it. This is what I don't get, no offence Pio, I'm just using you as an example. Why does it matter? I understand that bias websites are bias and usually shade their evidence, but what about when you post sites that 'prove' evolution and 'disprove' creationism? Aren't those bias in the same way? First off, the context in which he posted the link implied that it should please both sides of the debate, with him saying "[/thread]". Secondly, the context in which I post sites is to support my argument. Also I'd hardly consider scientific theories bias, whether your a theist or not, you gotta consider the validity of quantum physics and the like. Oh, well I never clicked on the link. But, what I mean is, that usually when someone posts a site like TalkOrigins and the like, the site itself IS bias against Religion. Since when does creationism = (all of) religion? All TalkOrigins seeks to do is debunk creationism, not religion, and it does a pretty good job as far as I'm concerned considering it actually backs up its claims with sound science and links to peer reviewed research. I've generally found that creationist material seriously skews the relevant science and misrepresents evolution. That's all creationism really can do to attempt and debunk evolution, considering it is sound science.

Human by Death (album). To think I originally didn't like it...

Most brutal band ever?
Torsof**k sound good and are nice and brutal, but some of the song intros are too long. Seriously, when it's a 3 minute song and the intro takes up half of it, it gets annoying. An interesting piece of trivia that I learnt from the metal archives is that apparently two of the guys in Torsof**k used to be in Finnish band Demigod, which released a highly acclaimed old school death metal album called Slumber of Sullen Eyes.

Who wants to live forever?
What would happen to your brain once it is filled? I'd imagine it's a gradual process whereby old information is gradually replaced by new information. It should be a seemless process; I don't think it's like you can pinpoint information capacity in your own brain.

After Christianity: what will be the next big "Religion"?
Scientology. But seriously, I think it's likely to be atheism, although that's not a religion. Perhaps a better term to describe what people will be is "secularist", i.e. they just don't have/care for religious beliefs.

Who wants to live forever?
Interesting question. The desire for knowledge and the opportunity to gain as much as possible is a bit of a draw card, but I don't think I could deal with losing loved ones and I think I'd eventually get way to bored having done everything there is to do. I'd much rather just die peacefully sometime. Personally I'm not into the eternal life thing as much as I'm into having the best life possible. The best life possible should be devoid of suffering and angst and full of good times, good relationships and the search for knowledge. Edit: That's another good point that I didn't think of. Imagine how lonely you'd be if you were the only "human" left and everyone else evolved away from our current form. I suppose that depends on how stably we can maintain our current environment. With things like global warming and ice ages, I suppose that might not be so easy.

Elvenefris by Lykathea Aflame. Some obscure experimental/progressive death/grind group that released their one and only album in 2000 to rave reviews from fans. Thought I'd check it out. It sure is unique, and pretty good so far I must say.

Joe Satriani accuses Coldplay of plagerism
Yeah I know. Anyone would think musical preference is subjective. And yet you made the statement like it was fact. Anyway, it doesn't matter. People usually state their opinions like that, unless they put the obvious "IMO" or something in front. It should be pretty obvious as to what's opinion and what's fact. Music preference is the easiest to determine of all, because it's all just opinion. As for the topic, I can definitely hear a similarity there, so I think Satriani might have a case. I'm no expert on any legal precedents, though.

World Downfall by Terrorizer (album). I must admit, I didn't think I'd like this that much, but it's excellent. Pete Sandoval continues to impress me. Surely he'd have to be one of the best drummers in metal...

Most brutal band ever?
I'm being purposefully nondescript, but brutal by sound alone. For what it's worth I completely agree, the majority of brutal death metal bands seem to have the sole purpose of being brutal for the sake of it. As a result, the music suffers, hence why many people deride the genre for being uncreative and derivative. Having said that, there are some diamonds in the rough, like Suffocation.

Law of Conservation of Mass
Ok, I see what you're saying, and you'd be right. Thanks for clearing that up.

Law of Conservation of Mass
Really? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conservation_of_mass It would make sense to say that conservation of mass holds in a closed system. As it applies to the science of chemistry, it basically means that the mass of products equals the mass of reactants. Are you looking at it from a different perspective?

If you were President, what would you change/add?
From: http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charte ... cript.html This is commonly taken to mean separation of church and state. The fact that congress can't pass a law respecting the establishment or preventing the exercise of religion means that religion is down to the individual people to decide.

Poverty Can Cause Brain Damage
What type of welfare are we talking about here? A free bus ticket to the library/museum? I'd agree with that. According to this study that kind of thing can help. I agree with what Barihawk said: I've always liked the idea of giving people the tools to get out of their situation themselves. Constantly giving everyone welfare isn't exactly conducive to people getting out of their situation.
