  1. drugs taking ur life is not about not working and going to school even if it seems like it

    it will be a chain it will take over ur life compltley and u will be a slave to the drugs and ur need for them...thats what they mean

    (the softer drugs are not this [cabbage] but they often lead to stronger stuff)

    True, many people can't handle soft drugs, and end up going to harder stuff, and that is when your life gets screwed up.

  2. If there is one thing I dread, it is old age. I go to my grandparents house, and at first it might seem great to be old. Assuming you've spent your entire life working, and saving up for retirement, you can just relax and spend your time doing what you want, without committing to anything. But the older I get, the more I realize that that is just an illusion. As you get old, your mind goes, and after 20 years of retirement you'll do nothing all day but yell at your wife because neither of you can hear each other, and watch TV.

    I was unaware that there was more than one way to spell marijuana (marihuana), thanks for letting me know :)

    I agree with 98% of what you said, except for the alcoholism point, and I believe we can agree to disagree on that.

    Unless you can provide a valid medical reason why you'd have to run through smokers with your shirt over your nose, I will forever call you a little girl. It's just smoke. Should we ban bonfires, too? I find fire smoke much nastier than cigarette smoke (secondhand, that is. I've smoked cigarettes, and they're just nasty. I've never smoked a fire, though...). Maybe we should ban chimneys, too. They smell good, but the air isn't clean.

    Waaaaaaah.

    Wow... just wow. Did you know that there are 43 cancer causing chemicals in cigarette smoke? There's your medical reason.

    LOL. It doesn't even contain tobacco. It contains "Tobacco Extracts". Talk about humor. That must be a blow to anybody who thinks they're smoking tobacco rolled up in paper.

  4. Wow I'm surprised how many people are brainwashed, and believe everything their 7th grade teachers tell them -.-

    Banning smoking because you don't like the smell? What the f**k, grow up! Inhaling some tobacco smoke (which I admit can be pretty nasty) is not that bad for you in the slightest and thinking you'll get cancer from that is like me saying I'll choke if someone farts near me (which is not entirely impossible, but the chances are .. small).

    It might smell like poopie but deal with it, I hate looking at fat people for example. They hurt my eyes, and make me feel uncomfortable inside. Should we ban them too?

    /sigh...

    I can't believe I have to do this.

    I know you'll just blow these off, but whatever.

  5. Pitbull is actually really awesome. It has a thing in it which shows roughly how much you'll heal your target for with a spell while you cast it, so it's real nice to see if you'll overheal or not. I can also see how much people are healing for so, if you tank, it can be nice as well.

    That feature is awesome in raids as a hunter, or 5-mans at least. If I pull aggro from the tank, I can tell if the healer will have time to get the heal off, and if I need the disengage, kite him around, or feign death. Great addon, highly recommended.

  6. EDIT:

    Unless you can provide a valid medical reason why you'd have to run through smokers with your shirt over your nose, I will forever call you a little girl. It's just smoke. Should we ban bonfires, too? I find fire smoke much nastier than cigarette smoke (secondhand, that is. I've smoked cigarettes, and they're just nasty. I've never smoked a fire, though...). Maybe we should ban chimneys, too. They smell good, but the air isn't clean.

    Waaaaaaah.

    I have to point out that there is an obvious difference between walking past a bonfire, and walking past a person smoking. If somebody is sitting on the beach smoking, I would not have a problem with it. If a person were building a bonfire on the sidewalk you can bet your [wagon] I would have a problem. You admit that cigarette smoke is nasty, but I don't see how fire smoke is any more nasty. Although most people who walk past smokers dislike the smell, I doubt the issue would be nearly as controversial if the smoke wasn't awful for you. If I was walking past Vons, and they installed a chimney out the side of their building that vented smoke from their chicken roaster in front of the Starbucks next door you can bet they would have it removed. As it is, chimneys are installed on top of buildings. And I don't see many people complaining about how global warming is caused because people won't stop puffing on their cigs.

    Just for your enlightenment, I might add that here in california, there is a ballot seriously being considered which would ban chimneys due to the smoke they emit. By your logic this ballot should also ban cigarettes.

    Drugs, even marihuana. They make serious mess out of people, change and stereotype them. I know marihuana has medical uses, so I'd restrict her same as morphium is.

    Yes I smoked pot. Yes I've seen great people being wrecked by drugs. I'm not making this out of my A_s.

    Assuming you live in the US, pot is already illegal. And that doesn't stop anybody I know from smoking it. If it is legal where you live, I can tell you right now making it illegal won't stop anybody. All it will do is drive up the price, causing people to go broke over it, which will lead to more homelessness. And sure, people already go homeless spending all their money on pot blah blah blah. Imagine the problem 5 or 20x worse. Prisons will fill up with casual marijuana (spelled "marijuana", not "marihuana") smokers, who haven't broken any other laws. People may want to come home after a hard day's labor, relax, and smoke some weed. I see nothing wrong with that as long as the person doesn't beat their wife or anything (and marijuana hasn't been linked to domestic violence -- no source links sorry). And don't tell me the price will stop people from smoking. Trust me. If people want to get their hands on the stuff, the price won't stop them.

    Please, be my guest. Do a search on google. If you search "Effects of Marijuana", most of the results you get will be research that has proven nearly no, if any, negative side effects of marijuana use, aside from a very small increased risk of cancer, which is to be expected when inhaling any type of smoke. We aren't even talking about orally consumed (eaten) marijuana. Now if you search "Negative effects of marijuana", 50% of the results you get will be websites about "How to know if your children are using marijuana" or "How to talk to your children about marijuana use".

    I thought I would add this to the end. The comment about the drug messing up people (your friends). I hope you plan on making alcohol illegal as well. The amount of deaths from alcohol is innumerable. Not to mention drunk driving, and how many deaths that causes per year. Show me a valid test that has shown any link between marijuana use and increased driver fatality and I'll eat my socks. Figuratively...

    In summary,

    boolean societyDeteriorates{

    __if(marijuanaOutlawed)

    _____return true;

    __else

    _____return false;

    }

    For those of you pointing out the fact that I oppose cigarettes but not marijuana joints. You're a little off. I don't oppose cigarettes completely. I oppose the fact that they have been proven so often to be awful for people, yet use is continued. If you want to go smoke a joint in your back yard to get high that is fine. If you want to go into your backyard and smoke a cigarette, although far more detrimental to your health, by all means go ahead. As long as you know the dangers. Likewise for marijuana. But if you can't smoke cigarettes on the sidewalk, I don't see why you should be able to smoke marijuana on the sidewalk. (Does anybody have a link to the effects of second hand marijuana smoke?) Additionally, I think public intoxication laws would cover both alcohol and marijuana intoxication.

  8. My new UI:

    [hide=]ah101408daedhir_big.jpg[/hide]

    And damn is it sexy. And it's great for raids too; tells me the time remaining on my stings (being a hunter), or any buff/debuff I apply. Makes it great for shot rotation in raids. Everything is transparent, so my vision isn't blocked. It also come with a ton of great addons that make my life much easier (chatter for example). Also, the version shown is a few months old. Link to the website for the UI. If you download it, make sure to import all your old keybindings and settings. His can be a little weird.

    About that mage who soloed that quarter of Naxx...

    Did they change one of the mage spells (spellsteal), or did they change the instance?

    ...So I decided to give this game a try.

    Screw Burning Blade, there always is a queue. Shadow Priest is pretty fun. I'm only on the trial though :wall:

    The game is much more fun when you can join a guild. And just so you know, healers (such as priests) are always in high demand when running instances, so you should have no problem finding a group later in the game.

  9. Some of the top DPS is up to like 6000 or something I thought. Saw a post with like the top 100 DPSers in WoTLK. (not sure what raid encounter)

    Thats insane... But I'd say I'm doing alright seeing as I'm still wearing a few questing blues, and my gun is from that level 77 instance in dalaran. Plus I'm just starting heroics. Only ran two or three, and the only loot I've gotten is some blue ring.

    EDIT:

    No, this was insane:

    Naxx Heroic Military Wing soloed by Mage

    Hot fixed already, but damn it was a clever use of in game mechanics. :lol:

    What was the person using to keep herself immune to everything? Or rather absorb everything?

    Double edit:

    [E] I was looking at WWS reports and came (in both ways) across this one.

    http://wowwebstats.com/eognwf1r1jv2y?m&s=721845-775613

    Someone please tell me how this is possible. :shock:

    The only explanation I can come up with is some sort of glitch.. I seriously have no idea how that is poossible.

  10. Woo, heroics. About to run my first one. I was doing 1450 dps on my last run through reg HoL, and I got 3 new pieces of gear since then, so I should be doing (hopefully) a bit over 1500 this time around. Yeah, I'm such a noob compared to you guys.

    Raid stacking on patchwerk last night our BM hunter managed to pull 3.7k dps on patch, Wahey for BM hunter nerf next patch because his gear isnt particularily good, just tier 7 with 1 valorous item and the xbow that drops of heroic ingvar.

    I'll just point out the fact that I'm out dpsing most people in heroics, even if I'm out-geared.

    My first heroic, I was doing around 1540dps (sustained), and up around 1610 while using explosive trap + Volley. Mind you my group had two hunters (a MM, and a BM[me] -- I was on top, even with worse gear), two shammies (elemental and healing) and a prot warrior. Overall a horrible class spread. I imagine I could have boosted my dps around 1000 if we replaced one shaman with a ret pally, and the other hunter with a druid.

    Btw, how the hell do you pull 3.7k dps??

  11. 7% reduction in dps isn't too bad... although considering the top dps is usually only 3 or 4% ahead of second place, this could make quite a difference...

    Anyway, all I need is a new set of hunter legs and I'll be off doing some heroics. Just got a belt and gloves from CoS. Ran the Oculus too, but I didn't even get the achievement since I died on the second boss (the tank pulled before we were ready :| ).

    -------------------------------

    What is this thread doing half way down the page?!?

    Anyway, still looking for a cool new UI. Don't be afraid to post one...

    Please. :pray:

    http://www.beska.net/ui/

    I think most of it should be up-to-date now.

    Thats a nice looking UI. It doesn't work too well on my old computer, but I'm installing it on my new one right now.

    Edit: After half an hour of trying to get it to work, I give up. The chat logs don't work, the hardly any of the unitframe addons work, the bag addon doesn't work... If only these were updated it would be wonderful.

    Btw, I think we hold the record for the largest thread on these forums :thumbsup:

  12. So from what I understand, you download different parts of the UI from different places? And where do you install them and delete the ones blizzard gives you?

    and questhelper cus i hate questing

    and Damage meater cus im a hunter and hunters are officialy the best PvE DPS

    (which is why we are getting a huge nerf! >.<)

    Hunters?.. Getting a nerf?.. What would that be?

    Just so you hunters are ready.. Here are the main hunter buffs/nerfs in the upcomming 3.0.8 patch

    [hide=3.0.8]Hunter

    All Hunter pet abilities with a cooldown of 30 seconds or more are no longer on the global cooldown.

    Aspect of the Wild - This aspect is now raid-wide.

    Call of the Wild: The benefit from this pet talent now applies to only the Hunter and their own pet.

    Deterrence: Design changed to grant 100% parry and 100% chance to "deflect" spells coming from the front, but prevents the Hunter from attacking. Lasts 5 sec. 60 sec. cooldown.

    Improved Tracking (Survival): This talent has been slightly re-designed. Now reads: While tracking Beasts, Demons, Dragonkin, Elementals, Giants, Humanoids and Undead, all ranged damage done to those types is increased by 1/2/3/4/5%.

  13. Not just physics. QUANTUM physics.

    Edit:

    Anybody know (specifically) what professions employ both [quantum]physics (by that I mean I would prefer physics at the subatomic level rather than basic physics) and programming? Or possibly relativity (special/general) and programming? Or all three?

  14. I have to point out to you that the bible is a compilation of writings. Not just one writing.

    When it is said

    On the first day He created [such and such]
    , that isn't necessarily the same person speaking as when it is said
    It rained for forty days and forty nights
    .

    Aside from that, the words

    The world was created in six days
    could easily be figurative language, meaning the world was created in six chunks of time. One could even view the statement as just a way of stating that God created all that exists, not portraying any sort of time frame at all.

    I just thought I would point out how you are being a bit of a hypocrite saying that this thread is only for discussing the bible, and then going into a comparison between Jesus and the Egyptians.

    Btw, the sun rises and sets because the Earth is turning, not because the Earth is revolving around the sun. This causes different seasons, not different times of day.
