Probably not then. What is your mobo model? :-/ I found it out to be D915GRO, and it's not on the list of supported mobos. However, in talking with a few other people, some have advised it may be the heatsink, and i'm inclined to believe them. The sounds now seem to be coming from the back area, and sound like grinding noises. All the visible fans don't seem to be making this sound, so i'm inclined to believe its the heatsink. Any precautions I should take?

Found the Motherboard model, but motherboard monitor doesn't support it, it seems. Any other utilities I could try?

This may seem really stupid to ask, but are differing sounds from the computer tower whilst doing nothing symptoms of a hardware problem? Just that I lost one computer due to a whirring sound I got. The computer would always freeze up and have major slowdown. I just spent $1000 on a new computer, and 3 months in, whilst i'm idling, the sound i hear from my computer (which I guess is the hard drive) seems to change to a harsher whirring sound and back to its 'normal' sound, yet performance isn't affected at all. Any feedback or advice is appreciated. I apologize if this is seems like a dumb question, but I've already one computer, and I don't feel like working to repair this one.
