  1. Ok, here is the secret.... I really don't want to give it away because then everyone will be doing it... but in Brimhaven pub there is a bronze axe spawn on one of the tables... just grab it and wait for another spawn.... then high alch it. So what if you use a nat, you get 1gp for alching the axe. If you get all of your nats for free, then in like 10 years of continuous play (have a friend play for you at night) you'll have like 10 mil, all because of a free spawn location. Phr33 stuff pl0x!
  2. I would have given him his stuff back too if he hadn't been such a rude person prior to his untimely demise... ;) In total he dropped like 8 mil worth of stuff...
  3. Dumbest thing I ever witnessed: I was ranging black demons in taverly and some guy wearing full guthans, carrying a whip, full rune, obby shield and cape was meleeing. So this level 79 calls me a noob for ranging the black demons and is in general quite rude. So he's whipping for a while and once he's at half health he switches to his guthans... only the guthans special by random chance only is firing when he hits zero... the idiot failed to run away... and I got quite rich. The only way you die in RS is if you're greedy... plenty of options to run away. :)
  4. Yeah, triple digit combat levels make you more popular than you want to be in f2p... But it can be utilized... someone following you, give them a task, "Shear me 10k balls of wool and I'll give you a rune longsword."
  5. barrowing all the way. Most barrows armour sells 2mil+. I made like 10 mil in 2 days like this. Way more fun than doing power alching. I've also seen alchers hanging out at dharoks waiting for people to die. I bet they pull a pretty good haul.
  6. I did my dumbest thing today... I've been barrowing hard core for a week now, got t hammers, ahrims hood, guthans skirt, guthans spear and veracs brasard. So I figure, I'll sell all of the non guthans stuff and buy the plate/helm to finish the set. I hit world 2 fally and fall for the classic "read the !8@! confirmation screen" scam to the tune of 2 mil. Thought I was buying guthans plate, but it was dharoks. Of the course of 10 minuntes while I continued to try to merchant what I needed, 3 more people tried the same dharok scam on me. Warning: The dharok/guthan plate thing in pretty rampant. So after trying to unload the dharoks for a while, I end up selling it back to the scammer for 1.6. So I lost 400k and some pride. People have tried to item scam me so many times and I have always been a good boy and reviewed the confirmation screen. This time I didn't. :( Frequent scams: Buying pray pots, swap for attack pots. Buying guthans spear, swap for leaf bladed spear. All forms of herb swapping (the icons, especially when noted all look pretty close to the same) ditto for seeds.
  7. I used to like dagganoth assignments for the easy xp but it's just gotten out of control with the number of cannons. I went there the other day and there were 5 cannons set up! Insane... or the !*!@*! multicombat noobs that wait for you to attack one then they attack it too. (thus you recieve the hits and they get free xp) I hate dag slayers now... too much grief. In regard to bronze drag slayers, just do it. They're always under 20 dragons, quick an easy... beats the crap out of burthroping them and ending up with "50 bats". If your level is low just take a pray pot or two. I've never gotten a shadow slayer... hoping I don't... I haven't done that quest... For right now I'm barrowing... man the money is just too good.
  8. The weird thing is I think RS in general is more appealing to an older player. All of the non-combat skills, the poor graphics etc. Personally I'm in my late 20s. Everyone I know closer to their earlier 20s and younger plays world of warcraft because the graphics are better. The most problematic people in RS seem to be kids and people that live in the pacific rim. I can't tell you the number of times someone asks in engrish, "runes can I hav? plz." "No." "noob" runs off. Although these folks that run around saying noob noob noob are a bit annoying, they identify themselves as noobs by using the term. The only times I call someone a noob is when they're griefing for no reason than thier own entertainment (IE, closing doors over and over, xp leeching in a multi-combat area, etc). We were all lvl 8 once trying to scrap together enough gold to buy full bronze. I try to be polite and helpful to the low leveled people so that perhaps as they level up they will be polite to the next generation. I guess the core problem we're discussing here is a broad lack of manners in many of the players... :(
  9. I think the odds did change. I believe they changed when they did the update a few weeks ago that added wyverns... nests used to come around every 2-3 loads of mahogs... After the wyvern update, I cut (and burned of course) around 1k of logs with no more nests. Finally gave up :(
  10. Metal Dragons At my combat level (see stats below) I can finish a bronze assignment with whip, one prayer charge and an inventory of sharks. Most bronze assignments are less than 20. Iron or Steel. These assignments are always like, "Kill 120 Steel Dragons" which is way more than you'll ever get done in one run. 2 strategies are successful depending on where you want to spend your money. Maging. Lots of safe spots down here. Hold your anti-dragon shield, drink an anti-firebreath pot, and use your magic dart to attack the dragon. You should be able to kill around 3 (or 4, we'll assume 3) dragons per dose. Therefore 120 dragons / 3 = 40 doses = 10 anti-fire pots. Rune wise, I didn't keep very good track of number of death/mind's consumed per dragon but if I had to estimate it off the top of my head, I'd say around 40 deaths/200 minds per. 4800 deaths 24000 minds. Wow this is getting expensive. BUT! You can at least theoretically complete a steel dragon slayer in one trip. Monking. Put on your full monk outfit, bring 6-7 prayer pots, some sharkies and whip away. Overall I find anti-dragon pots to be unnecessary as when you're meleeing them they tend to melee attack 3 times for each breath blast. this method is much slower and will require a minimum of 4 trips but is much much cheaper.
  11. I did a quick search and no one seems to have posted this "bug" before. You can open the reward chest without killing the 6th brother and get an armor drop. I did and got t hammers. Opening the chest before killing the 6th brother might drastically reduce your chances of getting any armor at all, but in this one case it worked for me. EDIT: Removed some stuff that was wrong.
  12. I appreciate the video a lot. I've been meaning to try the fight cave and now feel I've got a better feel for the execution of the strategy I'd previously read about. I'm tepid about something that takes 2 hours without logging out and has a high probability of failure :(
