On the topic of the Butler does anyone know the costs, labour wise, that you need to pay them? and how often? I've heard rick at about 500gp but nothing else. Any help appreciated -
Each ring has 140 uses which is 5 runs with a full invent of iron ore.

Ok, logged on, here are your books: 1. Book on baxtorian 4. Battered Book That is glarials amulet. That is glarials pebble. Number 5 isn't castle wars manual went and checked. But looks familiar. Basically if you find you've done the quests involving glarial, or those books then you can dump them. Hope that helps some.

As you said one of the amulets is the gnome one, I believe the other is Glarials amulet but i can't remember the quest. Book5 seems to remind me of the castle wars manual :/ but saying that it would be called that and thus you'd know. As I am guessing all these books just say things like "battered book" etc etc. LOL! Correct myself they probably all say "Members object". Well I think book5 looks like castle wars manual. The others I'm not sure but to be honest I don't know any books that you need to keep after you've completed a quest (so make sure your member quests aren't yellow). Even if they are needed jagex will provide you with a way to obtain that item again. I'd lose the books personally, give you more room. [edit] Oh and the pebble is glarials pebble I think. I know I have it in my bank somewhere :/

what would 70 range cost picking up arrows?
kahor replied to soupnatizzle's topic in Help and Advice
Ok, so from level1 to level70 you need 737,627 XP. 737627 / 4 = You needing 184406.75 successful points of damage (assuming using accurate where you'll gain 4xp per damage). First we buy arrows. Bronze = cheap and best. From the shop I think they're 6gp each so 1k bronze = 6k coins. Ok, so we kill 97 chickens to get to level10. w00ty! So thats 291 hit points you done. Shall we assume, since you're picking up arrows that you lose say 50% (worst case). It makes calculations simpler. For the purposes of my sanity :P we'll assume that after buying another 1k bronze + left overs you'll be able to get to lvl20 killing chickens again or zombies (30hp). Now at lvl20 you should still have some bronze left but again, stock up another 1k. I'm not a ranged expert by any shot so training places I have no idea, but zombies in varrock sewers can't harm you but its a long run to your arrows, yet there are safe spots, either way exp. So 3k arrows bought and used you should be nearing 30 and for the purposes of worst case senario i'll add another 1k to get your to lvl30 for sure. So you've now spent 24k to get to lvl30 (ish ;) ). Upgrade your bow etc for more hitting power but keep using bronze, they'll break more but are so cheap its not even funny. Worst case, 5-6k arrows to get you to 50. So woot level50 and spent 60k on arrows, and picked them ALL up (ouch). 50-60 is your next hard slog and arrow quantities will go even higher. Complete plague city quest and train at ogres in kings training ground. Easy safe spot, no melee ppl allowed and only a door standing between you and your fallen arrows. 50-60 --- We'll estimate 7-8k arrows. Worst case. Total spent so far: 108k Gratz, 60 range, a magic bow, some d-hide armor and you're well away. You'll be hitting about 7-8's with your Bronze arrows now :D and should be killing quite quickly. 60-70 --- For the purposes of worst case, doubling the amount of arrows. 14k bronze. Probably not needed as you're likely to have a couple of k's spare from previous levels. Well done, 70 range, go grab ur magic bow or crystal bow, some black dhide and head off to barrows as you've just spent around 192k + extra costs of armor and bows. I'll remind you though that with bronze arrows it'd be much much quicker to simply leave them on the ground and train faster but your choice dependant on your time. My calculations are probably wayyyy off but hopefully give you an estimate or at least a maximum. -
you could be a little more subtle about it and ask how his levels are so fantastically high and if he could let you in on his secret (note the flattery, always good)

AAAAAAGH!!!!!! This is driving me crazy!!!!!!!!!

What food are you using? Lobsters or better i hope. Weapon? Was gonna say rune but i think you fight bare handed? Armor? Was gonna say rune but no armor I think Prayer? Don't know your prayer level, but protect spells help. If i recall correctly your prayer is only drained when you get to the 4th version, so you can use it up until then anyways. As for strategy, since you're not using weapons, you key is prayer and food. Thus pick your best prayer to use (use +attack if you dont seem to be hitting him or +str if you're not doing much damage). For food, remember how much each item of food heals and ensure that it uses all of it. i.e. lobsters heal 12 so if you have 42 hitpoints, you shouldn't use a lobster until you hit 30 hitpoints or lower otherwise you are wasting some of its potential healing ability. Hope that helps. -
If possible, since you're starting at lvl1, i'd do the non-member quests that give magic xp (witches potion, 3 others I can't remember). They should get you near to lvl10 straight away, I think. Correct me if i'm wrong.

I know what you mean. Haven't been able to see my g/f at all this term but exams are kind of filling up my thoughts. Luckily I finish 2 weeks early so I will be able to see her :D

Quitting, What to do with the cash lying around.

I am unsure whether you meant to give 25m to one person or a group but here are some options for you. If it were for a single person: 1. Your best friend on runescape. Seems simple, and it is, who better to give to? 2. Loved One. I was just posting on a couples topic so I thought this may be appropiate if you had someone as such playing the game as well. I would not give that sheer amount of gold to anyone else as a new player would not know what to do with it and is likely to tell someone who would eventually scam them (not the purpose I expect you have for this gold). If it were for multiple people: 1. Gather a small group of people who you have grown close to in the community and give them a proportion each (whatever fraction you decide). I would say this is better than a drop party as it would be your friends who remember you rather than a random group of people who would not remember your name the next day, only the item they bought with your gold. 2. Maybe not all, but with some you could give starting players a helping hand for any items they may need. A few gold pieces in their pocket, some basic items and some armor go a long way in convincing a new player than runescape does have nice players around :) 3. I believe you can put gold into the party room and this goes on the assumption that you can. Again, using a proportion of your total gold, in 500k or 1m or whatever increments, put X amount of gold into the party room without releasing the baloons. Do this over a few scattered worlds. Someone will get a nice surprise when they next visit. Almost a St.Nick sort of thing. Hope that they are helpful to you in some way and sorry to see you go. Good Luck with whatever you choose to do. -
Strangely enough it was only after my girlfriend and I got together that we discovered we had both been playing runescape for about the same length of time :D we don't get to do much online together as our stats/lvls are too different to make training practical, but she loves to make all the new types of food so we'll often go to some deserted place (near waterfalls are good) and have picnics. I know that some don't agree that this should be right in a computer game and should be irl blah blah but at the moment I'm at university and am always 2 hours drive away :( thus I am unable to see her. I guess this is just a nice way to interact :) did anyone else meet irl then discover you both played runescape? Or are my g/f and I alone in this :D
