    2006 movies

It's not like that authentic feel gets ereased of the old movie. I like it that they have one that has that 'authentic' feeling and a newer one that is graphically optimized. That's two different things rather then remaking something that has been done before. Also it makes links to older movies other people might have never heard of and makes them start seeing older movies.
  2. Mr. and Mrs. Smith - Surprisingly good. Finally a good action comedy with other actors than Will Smith or Jackie Chan, with a rather new concept as well. The scenes with the couple in relationtherapy were a very nice touch. It was action packed and had some nice 'gadgets'. Sometimes the action was a bit too much, for example in one of the later scenes at the warehouse where they only get hit on their vest, but that didn't really spoil the fun for me. Maybe they could've cut a bit more so it was 10 minutes shorter or something. But overall I thought it was pretty hot, just like the couple Pitt and Jolie. 7.5/10 Pitt and Jolie in Mr. and Mrs. Smith The Chronicles of Narnia (1988) - What a sassy serie. Now I don't have problems with 'childish' movies/series. But this was just too much. Not to mention the bad acting, poor studio-scenery. So I stopped wasting my time after 20 minutes. Sid and Nancy - Movie about Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious, seen 40 minutes so far and it's okay, will see the rest later. Gary Oldman as "Sex Pistols" bassist in "Sid and Nancy". Hoop Dreams - A documentary that was on my "to-see" list for a while. I finally had the chance to take it with me from work. We follor the lives of two children who have a dream to become an NBA player. We start following the two children and their families at the age of 14 when they are scouted by highschools for their basketball talent, till they finished highschool. In the meanwhile we get a really good insight in the lives of the children and families. We get to see the home situation; how they deal with poorness, divocerces, drugs and the birth of new children. And we also get a pretty nice insight of the school and basketball lives the children are having. It was very interesting and I don't think I was bored once in this three hour documentary. A recomendation for all basketball fans and non-basketball fans. 8/10. Arthur Agee taking a shot in basketball documentary "Hoop Dreams". Bad Santa - A sexing, drinking, smoking, cursing and stealing santa. Sounds charming, and the movie starts really good. After thirty minutes it becomes a lot of the same and from a promesing comedy it changes to a rather tasteless comedy. Billy Bob plays nice though. 6/10 Manhattan - Very, very nice. Gives a nice display of the city live in New York. Great characters, a great score and wonderfully shot. One of the better, if not the best Woody Allen movie. 8.5/10 Woody Allan's Manhattan Jacob's Ladder (third time) - A very, very well done horror/thriller. It's not the physical forms of threat you are getting in this movie, it's all mindjob. Very claustrofobic (sp?) and surrealistic. A must see. 8/10

    SCREAMO!!

It's understandable though. They feel cool because they found something nobody knows, they have that real elitist feeling, and then, when they need to share that feeling with the 'normal' public they (the elitists) aren't special anymore.

I would say CGI are pretty important in nowadays cinema. I don't see how those remakes were very bad. And that there was a King Kong in the 70's is very well known. If only for the rant that came when Kon was located at the World Trade Center instead of the Empire State building.
  5. Yea, she's good indeed. And she looks good too!

    2006 movies

I don't think that's going be good at all. They are taking all the cool/wacky gangs out of the first, and I think it's in like L.A. It's hardly even a remake. http://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles ... tory.jhtml Plus, even if you refer to it as a remake, it's only like 25 years old. What's the point of remaking that? It's not like some great new movie invention has come in (ie. colour, or something), and there's no special effects to update. I don't think it will have the charm of the original at all. But I guess we'll see. There are more movies that are being remade from the 70's than The Warriors. For example Dawn of the Dead, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, King Kong (which was remade from the thirties of course). Of course you can do much more with special effects, new techniques, lenses, sound etc. etc. do you think it stopped evolving after the 70's? And you could face a worse director than Tony Scott.

The Fountain Hostel Inglorious Bastards Brokeback Mountain MÃÆÃâÃâünich V for Vendetta Indiana Jones 4 (2007) Jurassic Park 4 Spiderman 3 (2007) X-Men 3
  8. My fav. Schwarzenegger movies are: Predator Terminator Terminator II Kindergarten Cop Last Action Hero Jingle All the Way His comedies are a great watch aswell.
  9. Why would you say that? I think being a vegitarian goes more against nature than eating meat and use animal products for example shoes and clothing. The possibility to be a vegitarian is just a luxury.
  10. Hook, lol. The movie is good fun, but to name it as one of his best preformances goes a bit too far.

    B-movies

Jesus Franco rocks. Also you can't talk about B-movies without mentioning cult hero Bruce 'God' Campbell. Anyway, some recommendations: Billy the Kid VS. Dracula Dracula Has Rizen From the Grave to Steal your Drugs Dracula the Dirty Old Man Tentacoli The Calamari Wrestler Basket Case Frankenfish Zombiegore Hersenhonger Squirm Splatter University Curse of the Queerwolf Chokin Hazard Bone Sickness Blood Gnome Satan's Cheerleaders Haven't seen them all, but some friends guarantee you good fun! 12. Dustin Hoffman is good; Pappilon, Straw Dogs, Kramer vs. Kramer, Tootsie, sleepers and the list goes on
  13. My mate is a fan of him, I didn't really liked the first album. This one seems to be more promosing, nice and bluesy. You can see him preform "Who did you think I was?" live at David Letterman's Late Night Show. Click, click
  14. Own bought presents are the best. :D
  15. Well that was a pathetic attempt to be funny. :P Thanks for sharing though, I now completly lost all fate in mankind. :P
  16. Oi, better double check when you're tryin to make somebody look like an idiot in the future, Cj.
  17. I'm not really into stand-up commedian type of stuff. But I do want to give a small contribution so I am going to name an actor and then I choose Bill Murray at this moment in time. I find the serie "Bottom" (read those guys who do it) hillarious as well. :)
  18. Maybe he's dead and reincarnated as this little kiddo. Or maybe Democratic Sen. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts, Republican Rep. Don Young of Alaska and Democratic Rep. John Lewis of Georgia ate his soul and now are spies for the terrorists. Heh, you never know what̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâôs gonna happen in this crazy world. :P
  19. I haven't maybe they just aren't there? Maybe they are there, but on other fora. I don't think you should see this as a protest specifically against this animal, but more as animal skinning in a whole. And I think there is a difference between the bugs we poisen for 'healthier' food (not pers̮̩̉̉ healthier, we eat biological food at home) and an animal brutally skinned because a rich woman/man wants to show off to her friends at a party. And the second part, I don't agree with that but that's not what the topic is about (so let's not get into that), it was merely an example.
  20. Maybe he's dead and reincarnated as this little kiddo.
  21. I've seen the video one or two times. It's pretty darn cool, nothing I'd do myself though. :P
  22. Snakes get killed for skin aswell. Obviously this topic isn't about the killing of the animal for fur, it's the way they handle things that is bad. And I don't see why we shouldn't care for other living creatures other than ourselves, and nobody is crying. When somebody throws your computer out of the window you get mad at them too, right? I bet you don't think of the millions of hungry people suffering from AIDS at that moment and the next hours, maybe days. And then it's only a computer, it doesn't even have feeling. Skinning is okay, but it should be done properly instead of this way.
  23. Yea, believe the Oscars, that's the way to go. NOT. The Oscars are corrupted and not to be seen as evidence to back your opinion. I think Titanic is the ultimate example. You're just defending Lord of the RIngs because you're from New Zeeland. :P And I'd like to add that Lord of the Rings is an okay movie with good visuals, but far from the best movie ever made.

    SCREAMO!!

    Because they can't sing.
  25. Heh, I tried my best to translate a "Spinvis" song, since he is my fav. Dutch artist at the moment, but it's kind of hard since his lyrics are rather complicated, deep and hard to translate (for me that is). So if anybody wants to adjust my translation: Please go ahead! I gave a go to the song "Smalfilm" by the artist "Spinvis". English words are my poor translations. Spinvis is rather non-commercial but well known artist here in Holland, he records his album in his own attic. His records are about life and I think everybody can find some of theirselves in it, but at the same time his albums are very personal. Everything is guided by a bit poppy background. Spinvis with son The song is taken from the album Spinvis. I think people from America need to download it because it's not available there.
