  1. You're right it's not terribly bad. But hey my method just needs about 2-3 clicks, way more faster and a million times more convenient. Plus you don't need to even start building a house, and building a decent rack would cost you something whereas this is free. Honestly this isn't meant to be that deep, all it would require is a few simple scripts and it's done. As for the f2p thing, no of course it's not bc of bank space. I'm just adding to the argument, that when p2p go to f2p if they want to show off their skills, they just click a few times instead of changing worlds etc etc. And the bank space thing is just a extra benefit, again not meant to be ground breaking, but little things add up. And the main reason I mentioned the f2p things (aside from the p2p experience) is that this would be a very good way to stop all these stupid arguments about f2p and skillcapes. And honestly when i quit this game it would be nice coming back once in a while and not having to pay 6 bucks to change my hp cape (a bonus for retired members). Final thing is this isn't mean to be all that deep, just a few simple scripts added and it's done.
  2. Haha good idea, could a mod move it to bugs and suggestions?
  3. Great lol, but this isn't about cape racks ffs (and I dunno if they're flat packable). I already said the argument why my idea is way better than cape racks. Clearly my idea is a lot more efficient and in comparison cape racks are crap. So end of discussion of cape racks ffs >.>
  4. I don't think there really should be a censor in the first place. That's the worst thing anyone can do...pretend something doesn't exist because they don't like it. Yes there will be immature idiots...o well at least people can express themselves. Sure you're gona get pissed, but hey remember one thing "IT'S JUST A DAM GAME", if you're insecure enough to be offended by something in it (by pixels lol), well then you have other problems. People will eventually get bored of it bc it won't be "forbidden fruit" and will wise up a little, sure there will be some blatant violations of the english language. But hey rather that than censorship, I mean bad enough rs is a controlled economy now. Of course the censor will never be truly gone mainly because jagex would lose business, but hey maybe they can have worlds for ppl mature enough.
  5. That's what a Cape Rack in your Costume Room is for. Um...I specifically stated that the cape racks in a POH house are a pain, plz read more than one line of my post. But taking your argument seriously on the other hand, even if it wasn't a pain there are problems. Let's look at the requirements first of all for a cape rack: lvl 54- Oak cape rack, Holds all capes except Accomplishment capes lvl 63- Teak cape rack, Holds all capes, but just 1 accomplishment cape lvl 72- Mahogany cape rack, Holds all capes + 5 accomplishment capes lvl 81- Gilded cape rack, Holds all capes + 10 accomplishment capes lvl 90 +99- Marble and Magical cape rack, Holds all capes So a player would need a minimum of 72 construction, or in the 60's with a few quests done to properly store them. Which is absurd imagine a player just spent 150 mil for 99 summoning, and say he has 7 99's and a lack of bank space or simply thinks it would waste space. Is he then required to spend x amount of more mills so that he can properly store the capes? What if he despises construction and doesn't want to train it? The point is if you want to store them without wasting bank space, you as a player is forced to spend x amount of mills to train up construction (without any choice, if you already have the level it's fine). Now the main reason why the cape rack simply doesn't work is because it's so out of the way. A bank is many times more convenient than a cape rack. And for the money a decent cape rack costs to be beaten by something free in terms of convenience simply makes a cape rack inferior. So like I said before my idea would greatly improve convenience, you wouldn't even need to go to a bank, simply click on your cape and change the appearance. No forcing to train construction, no inconvenient out of the way trips to banks or cape racks, and you save bank space (2 spaces less than a cape rack at the cost of efficiency). Simple, efficient, and no bs.
  6. Alright well I'm planning on getting 7-8 99's. And that would take up about 14-16 slots in my banks, I think that's a tad bit excessive. So my idea about skillcapes is to make it so you can combine them into one and just switch between looks, such as have a option on the cape "change" so you can display your other 99's without the hassle of many things. Reasons why this would be a good idea: 1. Skillcapes along with the hood once they start to stack up take up way too much space as I said. There is the option of a cape rack in POH, but that's a big hassle in and of itself. Ultimately it's making people's banks more efficient. 2. I would really hope this ability could be transfered for f2p trips, as changing capes is just purely annoying. This would to an extent stop the rants about f2p needing skillcapes (simply make the people go to p2p to buy the cape and any extra 99 skills to imbue on the cape, then give them the ability take it off and change the imagine on it, no stats and all these arguments will come to an end, while needing only 2 extra bank spaces.). Possible arguments against? 1. Having only one cape would take away from the magic of getting a new one every time you reach that 99. Well that is quite true, so what I propose is to create a interchangeable system. One when you reach a 99 the master gives you the option to buy a cape or imbue into a already existing one. And at any time a player that has imbued his skills into one cape can revert back to single capes (if not enough inventory space the capes will go to the bank) and vice versa. 2. Each cape is unique and special. Um...cosmetically? sure. But the capes in terms of stats are identical, which really is ridiculous but this thread is not about that stupidity. No in my opinion in fact each cape has the same stats, therefore combining them into one would just be logical. Again players that do not wish to do this have the option of keeping the system as it was before (the two systems can easily coexist). 3. What about when you die? Very valid point, this actually requires some thought. In my opinion there are two solutions; one that the capes are always kept when you die along with the 3-4 most valuable items (I mean cmon a 99 is a 99, and all we get is a obby cape with a prayer bonus for some. And when pked the other player does not receive anyway, maybe give them a destroy option for those that want to get rid of them?). The second option is that one cape would disappear/left on the ground from the combined skill cape. 4. What's this crap about f2p and skillcapes, it's getting old? Well very very true, however it would stop all the pointless bickering. Simply put f2p would still need to pay for membership to get each cape. But with this it would save jagex from having to create extra bank space for f2p (other than 2 spaces, and of course requiring the cape to be a combined one to have any function in f2p). The capes would have to stats and be purely cosmetic, with an option to "change skill" and the ability to be removed and put back on. This would also benefit retired p2p player who get bored of wearing that strength cape all the time. I will at some point stop playing this game, and after that I would hope jagex would have enough decency to give a former paying customer of x years the ability to show off his accomplishments (not just keep the capes as useless mementos in the bank). All in all a simple interface change that would go in good with the theme planned for the new few months by jagex. Discuss, suggest, and dissent pl0x :D
  7. Too tired to read... Anyway this is a dumb idea, i think this whole controlled economy thing jagex has going on is a very bad idea. The junk trading is a good and great thing!!! Yes it doesn't change the prices, however it stands up to this absurd thing jagex has going on. It's actually guess what...omg omg omg...a economy like before where it's supply and demand o.O...amazing. I personally am against all these dumb limitations in rs now, completely ruins the game and makes it a single player game with occasional player interaction XD. To be honest all these limits and regulations set in place are just shortcomings for two simple facts, 1. Illegal business, means etc etc w/e, are always and I repeat ALWAYS going to be in place everywhere, it's just how the world works some play by the rules other's don't, and with these new changes on trade and pking it's only making the good ppl suffer, which clearly is not fair (jagex needs to realize this). 2. The fact that jagex has no considerable means of stopping this problem, maybe if they spent half the time they spend on pointless quests and stupid things like banning ppl for "offensive language" they could come up with a viable and intelligent solution to this problem. But i guess that's simply too much to ask. Nway yes this turned into a rant...etc etc FLAME AWAY!!!
  8. Uuuh too lazy to read this thread. Only read the first post. Anyway yes many many junk items that are p2p should be made f2p. Honestly i got no use for it, maybe make the requirements higher for f2p? Point is high leveled f2per's don't get squat, and now of course ure gona get all these things like "but we pay etc etc etc". Well having played since the end of classic i can tell u there wouldnt b a membership without f2p players to begin with. And i think jagex should at least reward some of the higher leveled f2p player with something for sticking around for so long, because let's face it getting high levels in f2p is a big accomplishment. Also the formula for f2p armor/weapons has essentially been the same ever since the release of rs2. Which is kind of sad considering players are getting stronger and stronger. Honestly i think things such as wave spells should be made f2p, honestly there is no use for it when you have far superior magic like ancient and lunar in p2p, maybe some armor like mystic or enchanted from clues?. And ranged haha full void, d bow, xbows, etc etc, f2p should at least get blue if nor red d hide bc those things i usually just drop as they are a waste of space and some arrows or etc. As for melee yes things like granite maul etc etc, or make the corrupt dragon be like barrows for f2p? Honestly lately no use for dragon whatsoever, purely a decorative waste of space. With this also I think there should be better food to accommodate for the higher hits. Skillcapes should be made f2p with like half the def bonus or something but still require membership to get obviously, this is just for pure convenience when p2p goes to f2p, switching capes is always annoying. I also think there should be stronger p2p armor/weapons...but that's a debate for another day. Oh also as a side note attack and def pots f2p for sure, waste of space in p2p. Some random ranting etc etc, have fun flamming lol
  9. Yea there are a few that lately have been made completely pointless by skillcapes/are useless Fletching-well willows, maples, and yews are f2p, the skill is pretty much pointless now since there is no profit in it, and plus people can make bows for themselves that they will actually use, and hey it's boring anyway. By all means if f2p wants to do this skill let them (of course with limited lvls for them like addy arrws etc) Thieving-yes there are no stalls, some can be added no biggie, and there are plenty of npcs to thieve, but once again quite pointless, thieving wouldn't be a good money maker (again limited). Early levels of herblore-yea yea taverly will have to be made f2p, so what there's practically nothing good there, and then f2p can get some basic pots like att, def, some restores etc. This would be usefull as mems dont use them whatsoever and it would be a nice bonus to f2p (once again limited). Now farming in my opinion is a dumb thing to give to f2p, what will they plant potatoes? Honestly they won't get any better and the skill in early levels is really pointless (they won't get herbs and limited tree if anything). Agility in my opinion is one of the great reasons to become a member so you can run faster, no offense this should be kept member as it is very usefull and is worthy of being paid for as a bonus. But some things that should be made f2p in my opinion are things like being able to make green dhide, pretty usefull just add some drags in deep wild. Also add some better armor/weapons for higher lvls in ranged (yew bows? blue dhide?), mage (mystic, splitbark etc they're not used anyway at least zammy), and melee (drag meds maybe, they're pointless now, and granite too, as well as granite mauls)...honestly with the intro of god armors/weps and barrows some weps and armors are now completely arbitrary so there is no harm into putting them into f2p, hell it will make f2p more fun. And at least show that jagex cares a little about the f2pers and maybe even make some new mems. Yea people will say but we pay for this blah blah blah, honestly mostly all the stuff mentioned is almost no use to p2p as new contents comes out.
  10. i just play this game for one reason lol, u don't g2 instal....i got a lotta pc problems/changes and over the years the game is always there....its free and i play w friends lol (although is has been messed up since i started in rsc lol)
  11. um i'm p2p big time...lvl 120 and i think f2p should get skill capes lol, its just stupid to argue over it, not like it hurts members when f2p get it and u know the stats of the capes aren't that good anyway.....lol
  12. lol, hm yea fletching is boring and useless enough (which is why i'm gettin 99 lol :P , easy as hell to lvl), and the skill capes are a definite yes for f2p, as are the forums and another thing u know those poh members spent mills on, should be available in f2p lol (sure i'm saying tat coz i payed mill but w/e lol), and f2p should be able to make houses at a substantially larger lvl to conserve memory lol
  13. lol get 99 in a skill u should be rewarded irregardles....i mean i got 99 att and str and i like the capes, i dont see why ppl shouldnt get rewarded for all the hard work, that dedication should be rewarded irregardless if u pay or not, and tat's just being selfish who ever said they dont pay coz skill capes are such a small percentage of the benefits that the argument u said is just irrelevant
  14. yer they should get skill capes, i mean hell kinda hypocritical when jagex said everyone should be rewarded for 99's, but oh wait only if u pay 5 bucks lol, nways any 99 deserves it. Trying 99 fletch atm :P so boooring.....but the cape lol
  15. yea makes gettin my 99 att slower =(
