And why not?
-
I'm glad this is finally being implemented... I tried to introduce a system like this years ago..
TBH it isn't really being implemented. No one has updated these points since January..... SO i wouldn't call it working. I prefer winners of comps to get special prizes, like Underbanners, special titles, special avvys/signatures, packs, da subs and much more...
Shame.. Keiphus and I originally had a whole system worked-out, a point formula, a ranking system, underbanners...
I don't really think the ranking is really necessary. I think underbanners etc.. for rewards is fine.
Pft, what's the fun without competition?

life here is the same as always. i.e: wake up, go work all day, come home exhausted, sleep and start all over again. hehe
I'm good! You? Good to see some of the good oldies are still around.
Any more fun baking expiriments lately? :P

Various places.. I'm not here to stay, but I felt like stopping in to say "hello"..
-
also not a fan of the colors, and the composition, while fairly interesting, isn't balanced very well
you should do less trendy stuff, it seems when you reach outside the box your work is far superior

An update..
I thought perhaps his CPU fan was dying, and triggering the restart because it didn't want to run if it didn't detect a fan running.
He had some bizarre heatsink that required a propriatary fan, so he got a new heatsink.
Just installed it, put new paste in, etc, and it's still behaving the same..
The Temps are the same they were when this was happening last time, CPU idling at around 35-40, the rest in that range as well.
Anyone have any new ideas?

I had:
Pumpkin
Half Jug of Wine
Disk of Returning
Easter Egg
Full Mask Set (Green, Blue, Red)
Santa Hat
Full Partyhat Set (Green, Blue, White, Yellow, Red, Pink)
Also Bunny Ears and Scythe, but those are far less rare.
I gave them all to a friend when I quit, though I'm sure she still has them all.

Also, yes, thermal paste was applied.. Arctic Silver ftw.
He evidently forgot to blow-out the PSU, we just did that and got a good ammount of dust..
Could that be contributing?
I have very little experience with overheating.
EDIT:
Specs:
cpu: P4 Northwood 2.4 ghz
gpu: Radeon x800 XL 256 MB
mobo: Intel Bayfield D865GBF
CPU is running at ~28 C idling
-
CPU is a pentium 4 (will find out specific soon)
GPU is ATI Radeon X800
-
My roommate's computer is overheating, trying to figure out why and/or solutions.
He's completely dusted it out, taken heatsink off, dusted it etc.
His GPU is running hotter than anything else (35 celsius, mobo/cpu running at around 20) however the overheating message says "the CPU has experienced a thermal event (overheating)"
The question I have now is whether or not it's the CPU itself or the GPU.. I would assume it's the GPU since it's the hottest, but since the message is denoting the CPU-
I will update this tomorrow with exact system specifications, I was just posting this now to ask the question about whether it was the gpu or cpu, and see if anyone had any non-specific ideas. (i.e. sorry for lack of info, will update tomorrow)

For people who haven't seen it, I highly encourage it. It was very good.
The "Sexual Themes" ammounted to about 6 seconds, of which there was 1 that was marginally bad that lasted half a second, the other two were just the 2 penguins on top of eachother for half a second while they were sliding around on the ice. Completely innocent unless you want to look for innuendo.
The "scary bird" wasn't scary at all. The leapord seal was pretty freaky-looking, and I'll agree it could've been toned down a smidge, but, nothing to base the entire movie on.
Next: The whole conservation theme ran througouht the movie. From the beginning there was constant allusions to the fact that they had a fish shortage, and that there were "aliens" (humans) possibly behind it, and possibly doing other things.
The real reason mumble is rejected is because he thinks that finding the "aliens" can help the fish problem. The whole tapdancing not singing part is completely ancillory.
You could say that the "religious" penguins are like environmental conservatives now, thinking that they just need to do nothing and the environment will be fine.
Mumble gets captured and sent to a zoo where he becomes miserable, then at one point he gets to tapping again, which gets the attention of the media, and then he's sent back to his home, so people can follow him. He convinces everyone to start dancing, and it's basically implied that the dancing penguins are a tipping point where people start to care about the environment.
I think it does fine justice to steve irwin's name. It's not the best movie ever, but it certainly gets a point accross, and maybe even to young viewers, which is who is going to matter here soon.

The heckler deserved it.
if you've seen the video...you wouldnt think he deserved it
here you go...be prepared
I've seen the video, the heckler deserved it.
I'm not saying Richards was dealing with the situation in an entirely appropriate way, or that he wasn't out of line at all, but it's not something to get this worked-up over.
He was trying to shock the audience and the heckler to get the show moving and possibly to prove some point, some of the things he tried to say hinted at that "this shocks you..." etc..

I'm going to agree with Ghost here, in that comparing something like Star Wars and something like the Bible is sort of silly.
He's right in that people are beleiving in something that is purported to be real, rather than something that isn't. This doesn't help to prove the Bible's stories are actually real, but rather to argue against the idea that people who beleive in the Bible are completely insane.

I see nothing wrong with a comparative theism class, or something. I know that some parts of islam were covered in my HighSchool's comparative government class.
Whatever religion they teach, it should be taught as just something to study/learn about, not as facts. Like interpretations of literature or history.
Creationism/Intelligent Design shouldn't be taught though, especially in a science class.

I know that this has been posted before, but I've done an extensive search and can't find it anywhere.
Basically what I'm suggesting is a forum mod that would automatically make it so that quotes are only 1 deep, do you don't have to scroll-down half a page to see a 10-deep nested quote that doesn't even really matter anymore.
Opinions?
