  1. 1. X< -2 1/18. Remember, when dividing or multiplying a negative number to the other side of the equation, the greater/lesser sign changes directions.

    2. X = -1.575. Same as above.

    aha, I got here

    1. 9(2x+3) > 10

    18x+27 > 10

    18x +27 (-27) > 10 (-27)

    18x > -17

    x > -17/18

    what went wrong?

You missed the negative sign on the 9, may be more, but I'm too tired to mess with it now.. even though it is ridiculously easy.

    Stupid Calc.

  2. Do you like the Magic card game?

Do you prefer PvP versus Roleplaying?

If either or both of those was a yes, you'll probably enjoy Guild Wars. It has some adventuring PvE-type (Player versus Environment) content, but the real strength of the game is PvP, and character building.

Read Nadril's review and/or google for more information.

  3. I had a friend who dropped a can on her pinky toe and broke it as well.

I also think that I cracked a few ribs today. A friend of mine and I were driving in another city (where my boyfriend now goes to college. We were going to visit him). We were on our way home when an 18-wheeled truck carrying a load of huge metal pipes passed in front of us. I had just unbuckled my seatbelt to reach into the back seat to grab something (my friend drives an SUV). When the load of pipes on the truck in front of us came undone. My friend screamed and threw on the brakes, sending me flying past two rows of seats and hitting the back window. I'm so thankful that I didn't hit my head. #-o Just my left shoulder and ribs.

Your story defies the laws of physics...

If your friend slammed on the breaks while going forwards, you would've flown forward and hit the windshield... you wouldn't have flown backwards.

    Mis-type?

  4. i caught an ingrowing toenail in its early form, if i hit anything with my foot it would hurt. I got rid of it on my own using a computer repair kit.

Ah yes, the noble DIP switch setter, is there anything it can't do?

  5. coming from the country where pokemon is still the most popular thing pop culture

Well, I wish you would've said something like that sooner so I wouldn't have wasted my time arguing with a blithering nincompoop.

  6. compare graphics for one, one of the main arguments for wii is 'wii isnt about graphics, its about game play'

this entire topic is opinion. i enjoy more action games with newer plots and excellent game play and graphics so ill get a ps3. wii is more 'innovative' with a remote control for a remote although ps3 is taking a big risk and being innovative with blue ray. wii provides more of a classic game play with a new twist which im not too fond of(the remote for a controller),but one problem with wii for me is that it has very few new games, its mostly just continuing games from the 90s with a new plot and better game play

and to people saying it is 600 dollars it isnt, thats the fancy version so i will give you the specs of the ps3

    Upgradable hard drive Yes

    Blu-ray drive Yes

    Bluetooth controllers[5] Yes

    Built-in flash card reader Yes

    Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity Yes

    HDMI port Yes

Silver logo and trim [1] Yes

    Wii specs-none listed

Upgradable HDD - dunno, possible point..

Blu-Ray - No, why the hell would they? It's entirely pointless.

    Bluetooth Controllers - Yes...

Built-In Flash Card Reader - Who the bloody flip cares? And how does a pointless feature make it more advanced?

    Built-In Wi-Fi - Yes...

    HDMI Portn - Possible point.

And you list "Silver logo and trim" as a point and you claim we are going off of opinion? I won't even talk about how bat-shiat farking loco that is.

Ironic that you cite "new games with new plots", except that all of your "action games" are just the same plots, recycled with a different characters and settings. Moreso than with other games.

Also, calling Wii's controller a "remote-control" is just a bit of pig-headed arrogant fanboyism more than I think is appropriate. I mean, you're not even considering the plethora of controller extensions that can increase control possibilities in ways that haven't even been dreamt up yet.

  7. i win. its all opinion, it is a fact the the ps3 is more technologically advanced, thats my argument.

if you like a remote as a controller and games you played when you were 8, get a wii. if you want a new fancy and shiny console with new games and amazing graphics, get the ps3 \'

Tell me how, exactly, the PS3 is "more technologically advanced", aside from the blue-ray, which we've already discussed.

  8. Wait, wait, so the PS3 is better because it's got some hardware that's exactly like what we're using now except in higher ammounts and at higher speeds? The only technology being an (admittedly) advanced new optical drive?

Yeah, cool. You know what the problem with that is? They're biting off more than they can chew. The technology is too new, too expensive, for relatively little pay-off if any.

The PS2 was amazing, nobody doubted that, they should've just made a better version of the PS2 and left blu-ray for the PS4.

Whereas the Wii, with it's revolutionary controls and I would consider revolutionary philosophy, not to mention better launch titles and a far lower price that actually turns a profit is only better by opinion?

Are you sure you're not just playing devil's advocate or something? I'm seriously confused here as to why you're bashing a clearly superior product on every axis.

I'd be fine if you were simply lashing out against fanboyism, but it's pretty much a general consensus that the Wii is better. There's not as much fanboyism as there would be if the quality was debateable.

And how is the psp a better product than the DS? Ooh, better graphics, how coool! All the DS has is longer battery life, a marginally brighter screen (on the lite), more games, and far better gameplay.

Give me a DS and an iPod any day.

  9. You guys do realize it's a parody, right? Nintendo would never do something that below-the-belt, unfounded, and bias.

    Leave that to Apple.

It is funny though, especially since it's much less unfounded and bias than Apple's commercials. :D

  10. If you're interested, I comment somewhat frequently as "Andrew", although there are multiple Andrews, so I think I need to start changing my name...

    *shrug*

It's a great community. I wish he'd create some forums or something so the community could interact more.

  11. I run that many and more all the time without this problem. This just happens at random times for some reason. Why does all the CPU usage go to system instead of the individual programs? I'd think it would show more usage of the programs themselves than System.

I've tried closing most the unnecessaries in the past though. They always open right back up so I just gave up and stopped trying. Only ones I close now are ones in the tasktray that I don't use.

The ones that "open right back up" are likely spyware or some other sort of nasty. I've never encountered a legitimate system process that would reopen itself the way that nasties do.

  12. First semester:

    Advanced Network Topologies (10 credits)

    Internet Security (10 credits)

    +2 modules which I haven't chosen yet (20 credits)

Project (40 credits over 2 semesters)

    Second semester:

    .NET Services (10 credits)

    Global Network Architecture (10 credits)

    Realtime Networking (10 credits)

    XML Development (10 credits)

    'Networking for the win'.

The options I have for modules in the first semester look awful and boring and it will be a case of choosing which I dislike least.

"I'll take some apple pie without the crust" - Nick Mason on the 'making of' Dark Side of the Moon video?

Wtf kind of credit system is that?

Or is the credit system I'm farmiliar with only happen in the US?
