Well Ring World wanted one reason he couldn't find answer for why free trade is bad suddenly?

Try doing a black demons task in taverley dungeon: I'm the only legit player in there surrounded by bots and their cannons.

I've never experienced that before tbh. This is the first year where I have trouble doing tasks due to bots. If it wasn't for the Kuradal dung I would have given up tbh.

Now I had to change my tasks and unblock hellhounds & block black demons. Although hellhounds are no profit at all (except the clue scroll drops) where black demons give

decent profit nowadays but if I want decent slayer XP I had to black 'em. This is why I'm against the free trade. I couldn't care less if some idiot grinds XP while he's sleeping just to brag to the RS world he has 99's (botted but still).

But once I feel my gameplay has gotten worse X10 compared to last year that's simply WRONG.

At first Jagex allowed autoclickers for the vote, since you could keep voting on the same pc. Then they realized it was getting stupid since there were 5x more votes than there were actual players. So they changed it you could only vote once per IP-address and then many PVP clans (and probably bot companies) ran all kinds of tricks to reset IP's & clean browse history/cookies so unlimited votes for free trade could be added.

I said no back then and I still say no. I don't want cheap resources for my leveling since I gather all my stuff myself. I never pay for XP. Maybe that's the reason I only have one L99 atm in 8 years. BUT I always enjoyed every bit of XP was self earned. Nowadays there are players called IllIliLi and sqjdfdsfkj running around gathering all kinds of stuff and nothing is done against them. At first I believed Jagex was actually gonna attack the bots and try to stop them. But that's all a joke if you watch it now...

    SAD

Its bad because it became known that they are great effigy droppers and people are there for level-up purposes with money making intent as well. If I was a botter I would run my character at black demons to get levels/money/effigies. Bots are a problem however restricted trade does not act as a solution.

Black demons will ALWAYS be botted since it drops effigies and is a good money maker good for both advancing your own character or to sell gold. They werent historically botted because they would cost money before, the change wasnt in the free trade but in the update that made them useful.

Not going to deny that the vote was rigged. All im arguing for is that the effects of restricted trade are worse then free trade. Hopefully you take this response as suitable but I can explain more if I was vague or didnt really satisfy your complaint (kinda half asleep atm)

Euhm you're missing the point AGAIN. You really should pay more attention before replying. I wasn't talking about main characters. But multiple idiots in dmed helms, granite body & dlegs...

They all look the same and some of them in the room even have the same names with just a different number. Like mvb4200 & mvb4300 etc. These aren't main accounts playing to use the effigies.

These are 'bot armies' all ran from the same pc/computer network with one purpose. Leveling up asap and gaining as much ashes and valuable stuff as possible. Every day they transfer the money (to be sold for real cash).

As I said before these guys don't care about XP, but only about hard cash. And that's the big error in your thinking. Reintroduction of free trade allowed RWT'ers to setup lucrative businesses again.

So plz stop pretending nothing has changed... It has! Open your eyes...

    [/hide]

You do know people were still RWT during restricted trade right? ... Your post is invalid.

  2. Sorry Jaffy but I don't think you're listening to Ring world lol. The wilderness has been like that forever, this safe wilderness you talk about was there for but a brief stupid time. It's supposed to be hard, you're supposed to struggle to do clues in there, that's the entire point. This isn't a single player game, this is an MMO (apparently, though that aspect is slowly dying). You don't play this game to go about your buisness, you play it to interact with people, in both good and bad ways.

Jagex can get rid of bots, but the new money hungry Jagex led by MMG wants money above all things. If we, the players, can identify and report bots, surely these guys can. But no .... that would be banning free money. This is also evident in the ability to 'buy' back your account with irl money. Quite pathetic, but that's how jagex rolls, money over quality these days.

Face it guys, the free trade and no wilderness phase that existed for that brief time was probably the worst years of RS in history.

  3. A lot of the player base is children, and Jagex respond directly to increasing the quantity of players, not the quality. Players whinge, and Jagex promise weekly updates. I said right from the beginning weekly updates could possibly be the worst thing that could happen to this game. Every update that came out back in the day, was amazing. The servers went down, we all got excited, and actually took notice of a well thought out, well planned, GOOD update. Now jagex will throw anything at us and players don't even participate in much of what this game has to offer, simply because it's well, [cabbage].

I would much prefer Jagex to plan an idea for 2-3 months, perfect it, test it, and be proud of it when it's released. There's too much crap in this game that is unneeded. Let's look at well thought out update pre weekly updates that are still in use today.

    The wilderness

    Lost city

    The KING BLACK DRAGON

    Guilds

    Slayer Skill

Now, because there's too many fillers to name, I'm just going to have a look at the previous month to see if anything worthwhile came of it:

Deadliest Catch ... ( deserved to be called a quest? )

    Freminick Sagas ( can't comment )

    Troll Invasion ( what? )

Lava Flow mine ( k fun 10 hours now what )

Livid Farm ( yay more grind )

You might argue against my choices, and argue others should be up there. But that's going back 3 months and at the end of it we don't really have much to show. Instead, that 3 months could have been spent on something that could be actually useful, fun, non grinding or connected with anything in the game besides a green tick on my quest list. Or maybe, 3 months worth of time spent at Frost Dragons and using their "Bot Detection System" (lol) they could ban some players who have spent the time getting 85 dung. Oh wait ... that'll equal money loss right, MMG doesn't want that! Keep the bots to keep the money! Pathetic.

Why even bother with the rubbish stuff, why have it? To keep the whinging grinding players happy, only to have them quit and make a big post on forums saying they've wasted their life on rs because they weren't playing for fun.

Phew, end of massive rant. Runescape needs Andrew and Paul back running the show.

  4. K so I decided, since suomi is so mysterious, I will be hosting an adventuring trip to find his home in the icy wasteland that is finland.

We will be starting at rally point alpha, Sander's house in Norway, and embarking on the icy journey on December 21, 2012.

Oh and we will be using this method of transportation:

    NOW, who's with me?!!?

I hope you are aware that CrystalFarm and me still have an expedition planned to find Sander's cave.

OT: I personally think it's still awesome that an underdog that no one really cared about got this high in such a short amount of time.

I predicted it on page 5 cause I'm just that awesome. No1 believed me!

  5. Been slaying Ice strykewyrms a lot lately, and I've been very surprised with the amount of mage praying players are doing while maging. As soon as I started them at lvl 93 I immediently Soul Split flash as 1 or 2 hits brings me to full hp due to the larger than normal hits ( 700 - 1000 ). This only uses about 2-3 prayer pots for a full task of 200 +

So why are people mage praying? Am I missing something here, or have I indeed just blown ur brains.

  6. PKing these days is truly pathetic. In 2006 at MB when DI and RSD ruled the wild, anyone who dt'ed or prayed 1v1 was considered an honorless noob who is not even worth fighting. Now when I don't pray, I get called a "lol noob doesnt even have 43 prayer".

Edgeville pking used to be for the low level pures who would just fight eachother. Now it is full of maxed players teleing and praying without hesitation. I tried edge pking a few weeks ago because noone would fight 1v1 at MB, and I was disgusted. I had ATLEAST 5 level 130+ players tele from me. Don't even get me started on the korasi kids. I don't even want to mention how many people would attack with korasi, and if they didn't hit atleast a 400 they immediately tele'd.

The only kill I got that day was a 129 with full rune and a RING OF LIFE. Seriously. A RoL. I couldn't believe it. In 2006, if you were killed with a RoL on you, I'm pretty sure that any respectable PKing clan would have kicked you out

This, and the reason I no longer Pk. Noobs these days don't know what it was like back then, or they were the ones being complete fails in the wild. Jagex's pking system was pathetic, and it was up to players to implement a set of honor rules to make it more enjoyable. Now that the wild dominance and respect has gone, players are free to do what they like, resulting in the complete mess that is present now.

We had the honor system for a reason guys, now you can see how boring pking is without this in play.

  7. [bleep] theres some Jagex hugging brats on this forum. OP has had a legit rant, and our response should be, ah that sucks man, and offer advice. Not put him down, make assumtions about his parenting and choices, that's pathetic. Don't just assume Jagex is in the right, they literally have no way of detecting bots, it's out of their control.

Bunch of kids, [bleep] off out of these forums please, you make me sick.

Bad news about the ban mate :( Maybe get her to create a new account and communicate online / go to quick chat worlds. I'd more than likely guess this has been a very unlucky 1 off and shouldn't happen again. Jagex bot detection system is pathetic, and their custom support system is worse still.

    Okay.

I'm going to have to ask you to settle down.

Just as you hate "Jagex hugging brats," I equally hate people who seem to think it's edgy and cool to criticize Jagex for everything that they do and to basically discount any of their efforts whatsoever, because that's the flavour of the month.

Any system's first priority is to stop false positives from occuring. I'm sure Jagex would rather leave 10 bots unbanned than ban 1 legitimate player falsely. I know a LOT of people in this game, and not ONCE have I heard of anyone getting legitimately falsely banned at all. A sample space of one, unconfirmed example isn't enough to just start yelling "FU FU JAMFLAX OMFG STOP BANNING LEGIT PLAYERS YOU MAKE ME SICK!!!"

And the comments made about the parenting wasn't about the ban - it was about the fact that, as a parent, OP obviously has no trust in their children because they went all net-nanny on their 10 year old, instead of taking the time to try and explain to their child what is right or wrong to do on the internet, and to let them apply this knowledge themselves. Using this cavalier approach of just trying to ban them from running any executable files will just cause their children to question why these restrictions are in place, and hence, try to find a way around them - it's human nature.

Also, if the child is 10 years old, they really shouldn't be playing the game, unless under adult supervision. An internet blocking device is just a plain lazy way to avoid actually having to watch your child.

Open communication will do far more than any online filter can do.

Reply was so dumb I nearly didn't even bother responding to it.

Jagex famously banned the first person to 99 range because they didn't think it was real, he later went to Andrew with his laptop to show him it was legit.

Jagex had no control or idea of the famous dupe, so they banned anyone with 'suspicious' amounts of items.

Countless among countless wrongly banned people on these forums, with screenshots of conversations with TEMPLATE replies because their customer support system is beyond a joke.

From sleeping bags to random events, Jagex can't do [cabbage] about Bots, and the only system they have is players hitting the report button and wrongly accused accounts get no further look unless you pay them money, pathetic. (Don't argue here please, there is way too much evidence).

Please, and please, don't [bleep]ing post if you don't know [cabbage]. Jagex have terrible customer support - fact. Jagex have no resources to control exploits in their game and pinpoint disasters ( Durial, row, dupe, knife bug, the list goes on forever).

Countless people have been wrongly banned and [cabbage] all has been done about it. This is a rant section where players will whinge about this and people placed in similar positions can relate and discuss. What ruins these forums is the pathetic jagex huggers who don't know [cabbage] and actually believe they do the correct thing.

You're discussion on parenting matters isn't worth my time, you sound like a University student with 0 idea so I'm not even going to try to contest you're dumb views.

  9. Looking for an active Australian time based clan who participates in all aspects of the game (definetly PvM :P). Would prefer a mature clan if possible to have some decent chats in the Clan Chat. My stats are as follows:

    2180 Total

    99 Attack

    99 Defence

    99 Strength

    99 Hitpoints

    99 Range

    95 Prayer

    97 Magic

    92 Herb - working on it :(

    91 Summ - working on it :(

My Rl stats are: ( luls )

    Age: 23

    Gender: Male

    Location: NSW Australia

    Occupation: Studying Marine Science

--Most skills are 70 + (except dungeoneering) so I'm more than happy to participate in skill based activities.

--Previous war experience from 2001-2006, unfamiliar with the official clan war arena, but more than happy to learn.

--Experience with all boss monsters except Nex. Willing to learn with appropriate gear, will learn fast :P

--Your average member level doesn't matter, as long as you have keen willing members that's fine by me.

    ------------------

Even you're not looking to recruit and you stumble upon this post, pointing me in the right direction or suggesting some clans would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance :)

  10. Big ones are Zezima and Bluerose. Bluerose probably controlled this game, and Zezima was the big dominate Highscore force. Both stood above everyone else in their time.

Therefore Sixfeetunder and Durial deserve a unique place aswell.

  11. I'm not mixing up anything. If anything real life you;d be more likely to give it back. After pixels r worthless compared to rl stuff.

    My point still stands:

You killed him fairly; you had no prior agreement to give the stuff back.

    Therefore I'd of kept it.

This is the saddest post ever. Sounds like if you made good friends with someone for years and they lent u 10m to get back on your feet, you'd take it instantly.

I hate people with your attitude, seriously.

  12.

That's my latest highlight video I did for testing of Sony Vegas and Fraps, all footage from 2k diamond

Furthermore, if anyone wants to discuss Starcraft 2 I'm very keen and would love to hear how Tip iters are doing in the game

  13. Hi, been playing on and off since 2001, mostly pking and skilling, and usually assocciated with pking clans. Since the death of the wilderness round 1, I quit RS.

Came back to RS after the announcement of GWD, and have enjoyed it thoroughly, until the point WoW released their latest expansion, and Starcraft 2 was taking a lot of my time ( laddering, entering competition etc).

Back to RS again as of yesterday to hear everything I wanted has finally come.

    Free Trade

    Freedom of speech

    Wilderness

And of course, an extra added bonus, a difficult GwD encounter, NEX. Because of this, I'm seeking a skilled and dedicated GwD clan of mature people to down some NEX, share a laugh and hang out in the cc. Would prefer Australian based though it's not essential.

I don't yet have overload pots, but will be working on it now until at least lvl 92. Other than that my skills for GwD are

    1. Maxed Melee

    2. 19k from 99 range

    3. 94 Mage

    4. 95 Prayer

But more importantly, I'm highly keen in PvM and will dedicate myself to it. I am a fast learner and will adapt to any strats you throw my way. Evidence in my skill can be shown with 2.2k Diamond level Starcraft 2 ( search Eluce on rankings ). If a video is more your thing:

So that's my intro, looking foward to hearing from clans seeking more players, or even if people can point me in the right direction for the type of thing im looking for it would be much appreciated.
