  1. Here it be: "Prev 6 June 2005 - Seeds, Bankspace And Advisors Next Start Collecting Seeds In Preperation For July's Farming Update A new farmers market has appeared in Draynor Village next to Diango the toy seller. Members can buy the seeds needed for the upcoming farming skill, which will be released in July. Players with sufficient thieving levels can also pickpocket the master farmers and steal from the stalls themselves. Other characters in the game may also drop various farming tools. Players chopping down trees will also notice the odd nest tumbling down from the branches. These nests appear randomly for woodcutters (in a similar way to gems appearing when you are mining) and may contain useful items, including farming seeds. PLEASE NOTE: We have separated Farming from Player-Owned Houses in order to bring it to you sooner. Player Owned Houses are still being worked on along with the Carpentry skill for release towards the end of this year - Honestly! :-) "
  2. I forget where, but I know they(Jagex) posted in an update that PROMISED us carpentry by the end of the year.
  3. "Alright." Said Jagex. "We'll release it in December, that cool wit' ya?"
  4. I think you guys are getting a different impressions of tattoo patterns then I. I don't see warriors at all wearing full body length tribal scar patterns. It sounds more magical to me than anything else. (What self-respecting warrior in their right mind would run into a battle almost naked? Well...probably lots of them...but that's not the point!)
  5. I've had this idea before, but the return rate would have to be pretty crappy if it were to be implemented.
  6. What's so awful about farming? It benefits lots of other skills. It may benefit other skills but it is the most poorly implemented idea in ANY mmorpg I have seen to date. it forces you to sit around for a half hour and watch your plants grow (average) Jagex made a really stupid mistake with the timeing on it. They should have either had plants take a few days and had a VERY low chance of getting sick, or 15 minutes MAX. Correction, it's the most poorly implemented idea in ANY MMO to date if you don't possess something called COMMON SENSE. Don't tell me you're one of those fools who stood around the Falador Plot for the first week screaming, "OMFG!!! GROW POTATOS!!!"
  7. Actually, something like that could be accomplished with a sort of "message board" in markets or banks or something, where, you could suspend items of your bank onto the board, where you would post a small bit of text, price you want to sell it for, and perhaps after it sells, you could either collect the money from the bulletin board, or from the bankers. The board itself could be organized into categories the way the official forums are. Perhaps buying could be accomplished in the same manner, you post a buying price, and that amount of GP is suspended from your account, until you take the notice down or until someone sells the item to you. I think if done well, it could work, although, it might replace some markets on the forums...but also eliminate some of the annoyingness of places like W2 Falador Park.
  8. now this is an oxymoron if i had ever heard one Not for us sailors har har har!
  9. Also, in some of the marketplaces, they go by too fast too add. I would think it'd be fine if we could just have the option to put one message above our heads that'd stay there for however long we wished, could have a lot of functions as well. So you could wander through Falador Park, looking above people's heads see what they're selling, but I bet something like that would be abused too often, people just going: "*********************************************************" You know RS people.
  10. I had this idea just the other day, perhaps make it a new mage armour of sorts. Different coloured tattoo patterns that are full body, when the full outfit is there, perhaps just a loincloth or something.
  11. Most people seem to be in favour of just mixing the two skills together, but, I think they have different foundations, but I guess it'd be improving the skill, since herblore needs it anyway. It'd have to go under a new name though.
  12. It would be easy to get around barriers with limitations on it. I like prayer better, by the way. You could click on a "Heal other" prayer, and it would say, "Use Heal other on...." like spells, if you used it, would heal say, 10 health on them, and cost you 10 prayer points, perhaps a heal self too. But if it costed immediate prayer points, no worried about unlimited invfentory, heck, add some delays on it too, can only use it every 5 seconds.
  13. Well, I can do it with me and 2 friends (I'm 102 and they're 90 and 97) We can take down a group of three of them with ease, but a second one not so much. Upon hindsight, that's a little low for kills I guess, but seems worth it. Did it like 8-15 times, got a seercull bow, so we still profited, we split drops down to the coin. I think I like my queen better though, perhaps sometime when I can get a bigger group of better levels to get a lot more kills a run. By the way, from what I've seen as a mage, you can stay out of Prime and Supreme Range's pretty easy if you're careful enough. In any case, I might try it in a larger group sometime.
  14. Well, herblore is a lot different from Chemistry... Plus the entire basis of the skill is different, not based off HERBs, per se, and that is the name of the skill.
  15. Not enough love for Shilo village in this topic, Great Crafting facilities, fastest Fishing Exp, sweet slayer master, Closest furnace to bank (well, before Phasmatys, but still like 2-3 steps closer >_>, 20gp to use though. RS's only true Hotel >_> A great vacation spot, with wild natives ready to stab you. Yanille is a close second.
  16. Now, before you condemn me about how it'd be identical to Herblore, hear me out. Just because it involves mixing stuff in vials doesn't make it the same. Herblore is a more of a combat boost skill. Most potions aid to combat in some form (And when I say MOST, I mean just that, most, not all). Chemistry would be more about benefitting other non-combat skills (and perhaps a little combat as well) by allowing you to do things that you would not be able to do normally. Not just a temporary percentage boost to a stat or something. Utilizing chemicals and chemical reactions to do new things. For example, applying a chemical to ores that allow it to achieve a lower melting point, therefore, requiring less coal or something, in blast furnace fashion. Or, applying a chemical that reacts with blades and armor to make it tougher and able to perform better. Anyway, chemicals could do a lot of things, and it would be a great way to introduce new things to skills at levels that might be too hard to obtain for it to be worth it, or that have maxed out already (aka, smithing). Anyway, it has a lot of potential, and could be implemented pretty easily, I mean, chemistry is already apparent in the game, lotsa quests use chemicals and such. Now, onto more fine tuning of the skill, how would you obtain things needed for chemistry? I'd like to think for some part, it'd be a little bit like mining or woodcutting, where you go out in the field and collect things needed for chemicals, but more steady, like rune essence. For example, there's a gas in swamps that'd be useful, but it is polluted by other substances, use instruments to collect the gas from the swamp, and then process it in a Labratory or perhaps have a tool that could process it in the field. That sorta thing. Or simpler like just collecting Sulphate from mines or something. Anyway, it could have a lot of uses, and I think the idea has a lot of potential.
