  1. sweet! we could teach the pple of runescape the glories of gambling and spending their entire life savings on mostly useless tickets. lol, srry dont mean to flame im just messin with ya. actually i think its a worth while idea.
  2. by the way im a really bad spiellier lol
  3. srry wasn't payin attention, for some reason i was typin it pheasant, meant to say peasant (surf, just to make sure u know what i mean).
  4. k thx for clearing that up, maybe I miss read the statement. I just got excited cause I thought that would be a cool idea.
  5. ok, thx for the feedback guys. Let me just clarify a couple of things i didn't get completely clear. Um, srry about the coat of arms thing I guess I got my difinitions a little mixed up when I said coat of arms I meant the more simple less complicated versions applied to the sheilds. About the graphix: you wouldn't design the it completely by urself. U would have the option of certain shapes and colors at your choice. Also simple animals could be aplied like eagles, lions, dragons, ext. If the heraldry is kept to simple shapes colors and minor animal graphix I more than believe that runescape can handle it. Look at god armors and how they have a sort of little simble on the pl8t and how kites have a simple cross shape on them. That is the kind of low pixel graphics im talking about only you can change them up a little bit. and thank you for clearing the armor thing up but im still sure that knights did where a seperate layer of chain under the pl8t that has chain pieces.
  6. cool, im glad you like some of them, thx for the feedback
  7. Okay this might sound a little history nerdish to you: During the early middle ages Knights reigned suprieme on the battle field. With their expensive armor and weaponry they could wipe out tons of enemies. Soon however a revolution in war tactics occured. Kings discovered that an arrow fired from the newly invented long bow could easily pierce a knights armor. So, kings supplied pheasants with long bows for which to fire upon the enemy knights. Thus the pheasant army archers became far more powerfull then the knights, and dominated the battlefield. Thus history has shown us that an archer and his bow is way more powerful then a knight. So obviously runescape's battle system is not completely practical. Frankly I think that a ranger firing a gun at a knight and not killing him is any less likely than with a bow and arrow. Besides the cannon thing kinda makes sense.
  8. Has anybody heard anything about an eastern themed area coming up? I was just wondering because I think I saw someone mention it once. If not I think it would be a cool idea. Along with possibly asian style armor and weaponry like Katanas and samurie armor. Please dont flame me for not knowing this if its true.
  9. oooooo, u on fire bro
  10. Ya i think the intrade chat option would be cool, maybe as a second window or something that pops up when the trade starts
  11. I think its a good idea. the tats dont have to be extremely detailed. Lke he's saying: the tutorial dude has one and it looks cool. And ur character doesn't have to be nearly naked to show them, u could have face tats and stuff.
  12. here some assorted skill ideas I was thinking about, tell me what you think: Mounted combat-ability to ride horses and other animals around runescape and fight while ridding them. good for transportation and a new form of combat. Ability to buy your animal for which to ride on. The animal could have slightly better energy stats then walking by foot and maybe go faster at a running speed. The higher the lvl the better animal you can ride and fight with. Fighting could include jousting with a jousting stick, mounted sword fighting, mounted ranging, and mounted magic. could also include a jousting minigame against other players. Medicine-ability to heal generall hp and poison without food or antipoison. Instead supplies u would need is a sort of medical kit that would last longer with your medicine lvl to be able to cure. Skill could also include certain types of conditions that gradually take away hp. Skill would allow you to cure such problems. possibly money could be made by players to mend other players injuries. Supplies would include medical kit, surgical tools, medicine for sickness, ext. Music-ability to perform music with certain intruments that can manipulate certain things. example: can play a slow sleepy song near guards to put them to sleep temporarily while stealing. Same can be aplied to an agressive monsters who u dont want to fight. the higher the skill the better instruments and music you can use. other uses might be to play mystical songs to open entrances to new dungeons. Create a parade of animals folowing you just for fun. Rally npc's to your aid when fighting by playing a song they like. Playing a song near a fishing spot to attracted fish to the spot and increase your fishing rate temporarily. there is all kinds of other possiblities to this skill Hunting/falconry (subdivision of slayer and cooking) ability to hunt for certain animals sort of like slaying monsters. Except with this you can obtain trophies from the animals you kill which you can display to other players and hang in the future POH's. Aslo allows you to obtain new types of meat which heal better (sort of like how you can catch different types of fish that heal different amounts). The higher the Slayer and cooking skills the better animals you can hunt and obtain better trophies and better meat. Animal care-ability to raise different types of animals that do different types of things. Seeing as pet care has become a little bigger with the addition of fish, why not make it a skill and add tons of different types of animals. With the skill you could raise certain animals like a cow or sheep or chicken and put it in a future POH to privide service to you. Other animals could be used as fighters to help you in combat. You could also raise animals to ride on with the possible Mounted combat skill I mentioned earlier. Or, if you dont want to keep your animals you can sell to other players that want them for lots of money. The higher the skill the better the pets, and animals you can raise. Charm/merchanting: ability to lower npc prices by haggeling them down. also ability to sell items for more to npc. Also ability to influence other npc's example: instead of stealing from a master farmer convince him to give you seeds. gain access to areas with guards by convincing them to let you in. The higher the skill the higher the succes rates of haggeling prices and better npc charming. well, these are just some ideas. If you think they're stupid please let me know kindly. Once again, they are just ideas im throwing out. If you like them please let me know, if you dont, please tell me what needs to be changed. Any additions to these would be appreciated.
  13. Um, well, im srry that ur getting torn to shreads by these pple. Its not that I think its a bad idea its just that I dont see a point to it with slayer and all. Maybe it could be a subdivision of slayer
  14. Okay, ive got two ideas to throw out for you guys: Back in the day (middle ages) Knighst would be dressed in an undercovering of chain mail, and have a breast plate over that. I'm thinking it would be cool if jagex allowed players to wear chain mail under their pl8t. It could give you a chance to raise your defence even a little higher. My second idea is sort of related: Not only did Knights wear both chain mail and pl8t; but they also used to have surcoats or tunics that they would wear over their armer. On them would be the knights coat of arms. His coat of arms would also be displayed on his shield. I think it would be cool if in runescape you could go to a herald (person who makes the coat of arms) and you could design a coat of arms for your character. Which could then be maped to your shield and armor. I think this would be a cool way to further personalize your character. just some ideas, tell me what you think.
  15. I saw a thread about a bank sorting system that mentioned a runescape donation system. Its simple, the idea sould be that while your sorting your bank and gettin rid of stuff u dont need there would be a feature that lets you donate right from your bank account. This donation would possibly go to another room or area by the bank and be droped on the floor for another person to pick up. I dont believe that anyone is going to get really rich from this idea because who is going to drop anything worth much money??? The things that will most likely be droped are stupid stuff that an experienced player wouldn't want but a new player would want. Example:bronze armor and weaponry, shrimp, beef, bronze/iron picks or axes, reg bows, cheap arrows. Also seeing as there will be several pple donating several different items the chances of someone picking up say 5k of any item at all. This feature should deffinately be included on ftp seeing as most of the noobs are on ftp. This might shut them up. Oh one last idea is that to enter the donation area your not allowed to have anything over a certain amount of money. so if your loaded you wont be able to pick up the noob donations.
  16. WELL OBVIOUSLY ENOUGH HAS BEEN SAID ABOUT THE CAPS LOCK THING. But an way I think the problem with your idea is the whole raise the range lvl to 60. Think about all the lvl 40-59 rangers who have been using the guild and not complaining. All the sudden jagex decides you need to have a higher lvl and now all these pple cant use the same guild they were allowed into before. This would probably make alot of people mad because they would have to go and train their lvl up to 60 before they can use the guild again. Besides there are worse guilds to pick on, like the cooking guild. Its only lvl 32 cooking and has hardly anything.
  17. This is a really great idea you have, and wonderfully exicuted. One thing I think should be added is a type of autosort feature for the individual slots. Example: You can choose to sort your fish in your fishing slot by most expensive fish first, least expensive last. Or alphabeticaly, or by amount of that item you have.
  18. I was thinking about this idea as well only with a different twist. Instead of stores I think jagex should include player owned stalls or POS. It could probably go along with the possible carpentry skill where you build your own stall using the skill. In these stalls you can put your junk up for sale that you would normally have a hard time selling manually to players and possibly end up selling to stores. All the prices would be based on what npc stores would sell the items for. that way you make more money with a stall then by selling to stores because as u know, stores buy for alot less than they sell for. I believe if u gave the price option to the player it would become a hastle because you would have to input all the prices for every single thing you want to sell. Also some players might put really stupidly high prices for items. Finally I think the player should be able to input what type of stall it is. ex: general stall, food stall, armour stall, weapon stall; u get the point. that way other players will of course know what your trying to sell. About the problem with players and to many stores causing server overload problems: The solution is to make the stalls a sort of rent process: you pay a small amount for say 20 min worth of selling, or u pay more for say 30 min worth of selling. once the time is up all the money u made and the unsolled items automatically go back in ur bank. then the stall area is free for another player to rent for a short time. This could be a really good resource for both the stall owners and the buyers. Stall owners could be making money while they're doin other things, and could be able to get rid of some junk; and buyers could buy items that might be difficult to obtain through normal means. srry my post is so long.
  19. Personally Im excited for the new skill if it ever comes out. Think of the possibilities with carpentry and POH's. You never know what else besides POH's that jagex has in store for the skill. Who knows, maybe you could build your own ship sort of like how u fix one on D slayer only you get to keep the ship and sail to certain ports. Maybe they will have community projects, for instance large plots of land that players can build upon together. Maybe you can build ladders or steps to reach certain areas. Im just saying that there is alot of potiential to this skill and that pple should give it a chance. As for POH's I think the best solution is to have possibly public areas and private areas for which to build upon. For a small fee u could buy a plot of land, build upon it as if in the sims, possibly buy animals or monsters for it, and maybe certain resources for other skills. and input who you want to allow access to if specified pple or everybody or even nobody but urself. Other pple could come to the entrance type in the player who's house they want to visit, and if permitted by the owner would be allowed in. There would be of course limitations to the land resources available, maybe even the better the carpentry the better skill resources available for you to use. such as ground for farming or a yew tree on the land or what not. As for Public POH's that are seen by everyone I believe the solution is to have certain areas of land that you could buy temporarily and build upon that land for everyone to see. that way the land can be used and still be available to later players. One last comment is that I strongly believe that land selling should be purely an npc opperated purchase. that way players cant buy land for cheap and sell to other players for huge unfair prices.
