I've been thinking something like engineering, but I know that's been used in MMO's before, maybe something either based around that OR maybe something to do with weather, using the weather to open up a whole new spectrum of weapons, for other skills like farming and sailing would be a good way to train it up.... Very unique, and yeah, just a thought.

I think you could fix up the corners of the towers abit more, diagonal bits don't even seem to hit the right points on them. The tree's leaves could be darker, as with the tanks, or atleast show the difference in distance and maybe allow them to show abit of angle as well. As for the battle ground I suppose it is, then allow some mayham (Not sure how to spell atm) but yeah allow some action in between, to show there is warfare happening, someone being shot, someone getting ready to shoot. The actual characteristics between everything need to show more, because at this moment in time it just seems like some tanks rolling back into camp, if this is happening, then it's not the most interesting plot, but otherwise you can work on fixing up the colour's on everything, make it more realistic, and yeah. That's all my advice for now.

Umm as the title says, it's just a pixelated tree, I drew it up last night, only took an hour. It was made pretty quickly like I said, so it isn't the greatest, but I have been needing to fix up drawing tree's so tried it out anyways, and since I haven't posted here for a while since I've been at Uni, thought I might as well. The background isn't that special, just wanted to focus on shading a bunch, and I thought the colours would go easier if it was drawn as if at night time, since I mostly wanted to focus on the figure of the tree and it's shading anyways. Okay I'm rambling on so here's the picture  PS: Add the guy in the corner for fun lol.

He's stating that it's not really a "pixel art" due to the fact you didn't place each individual colour in each spot, which is obvious because of the amount of colours used. You must of used something like blurring or something to change multiple pixels at once, which takes away from the fact of it being a pixel art. Also yeah, Png saves the quality, so if it has had the same quality saved, then theoretically he's put on the entire 300 pixels by himself, which if he really DID do that, then he really could of used a heck lot less and probably made it look more effective. Point is he didn't put on all 300 pixels himself, thus it's not a pixelart technically.

The feet seem too small, he needs knees and his hands look a tad odd. I like the style you have done everything in, just as said above could use some fixing up in a few areas. I am not all that great with shading, so I won't give you any criticism there, just the anatomy part of it could help alot.

Hard to tell what angle this is on, since the top shelf has either things about to fall off of it, or it's on an unusual angle to everything else, whilst the bottom shelf only shows a side view.

Love the background, it will be good once you have put in the detail for the actual characters, but I think the rocky edge looks a tad odd at the moment, just how smooth it is I guess. Other then the night sky is one of the best I've seen :D

King Black Dragon [ NEW: Desktop wallpaper versions ]
Exbaj replied to misterxman's topic in Art and Media
Your a freak, didn't think you'd be able to get it twice either but I guess it is hard not to get chosen when you keep throwing the best arts they have at them. Congratulations, but seriously... your a freak... Stop being abnormal! :shame: -
Lol thus that one was made 1 year ago, and the second one was made this week...( I really shouldn't of posted the old one, but ahh wells) Glad you approve of my current work anyways, thought the contrast was okay, guess not :?
-
Okay don't really want you all to bother CCing on this one too much, simply because I made it a year a go for my old laptops wallpaper and just felt what the heck I'll post this one coz the characters pretty cool anyways lol. This was before I knew anything really about pixeling but yeah. (Fair few mistakes in it as well shhh!) WALLPAPER PIXEL Okay yeah, this one is a more proper one, made it during the week, it's meant to be of me, just was practicing anatomy and light (Which is mostly just hitting the shirt but yeah) I don't think I fully completed this one simply because I didn't really finish shading the jeans but oh well Enough chat from me here it is:-

Jopie211's Pixel Gallery (11) - Update July 22th! - >Look!<
Exbaj replied to Jopie211's topic in Art and Media
I like the backgrounds in a few of those, probably just adding in minor details, or work on shading on characters abit more, I don't know, but experiment with different effects by going outside your current boundaries (Things that can provide more shading on the characters for instance, or working with light sources more) Keep up the good work anyway. -
Mmmkay, ratings are obviously bad, anyway I think you should think about actually looking at the pictures, do you see where the mistakes could be, if so then fix them up... Look at the curving, the fact that the legs have different lengths, adding things to the background maybe and pretty much making everything look more smooth... I've got to say if you want to pixel, you should put more patience into it, try doing one for an hour atleast and making everything, the shape first off look good, if your not sure how to improve the shape then look at a bunch of other peoples works first, and understand how the structure of things, as well as special added details is added. I probably wouldn't recommend shading yet, but it will help in the near future once your get the actual shape of your objects corrected. Anyways you can find guides at the top of the page, in the announcement The Gallery Rules, FAQ and Resources Check it out, and hope you get better :D PS: Enough with the flames guys, just give him the advice, and hopefully he'll spend more time improving

Thanks, yeah I'm working on an idea atm to link them together, but heading off tomorrow which seems to happen alot half way through whenever I get into these modes... Ahh wells I'm having fun with it all, so I doubt I'll stop, but I did just get back from Uni, so best go see everyone that I haven't seen in a while first. I'll do the colour more at the end as well, just simply so I can work with it better at the end probably, and decide how detailed I want it in my final one anyways :D
-
Yeah made a new version kinda, just been trying stuff out... Not really a storyline or anything like anyone wanted, but a little more detail and adding ideas bit by bit, then I'll put them all into one big animation I think.
-
Coolio thanks Terl, yeah I'll start thinking more into storyboards and stuff now I got the basic understanding on how to use it all.
