  1. The dragon fire breath hits up in the 30's if you don't have the shield, but drink an anti fire potion. YOu can no longer drink an anti fire potion and pray "protect from mage" and not get hit by fire breath, so that is why veracs is just considered a deathwish now...lag for a second or type something and within that short amount of time you could be dead.
  2. Well, I would like to note that I am 99 defence which means i will get hit less, i am also 86 prayer so i can have another shark in inventory, and i still hit 30-35 fairy often with diamond(e) bolts. I always do the 10% range boost, seems to work better to hit for me. I also stand next to it and pray Protect from Melee.
  3. Like it says in my guide...mix and match around with stuff...you don't have to use what i do :) Use what you have and better suits you.
  4. I would like to now note that using any barrows set or any method that doesn't require an Anti-fire shield or Dragonfire shield is completely absurd and should not be done unless you wish to die, using the protect from mage prayer and anti fire potions does not work anymore, so don't try it, unless you want to die.
  5. Well, I was able to kill 14 mithril dragons in one load, find out in the updated guide on page 1 ;)
  6. I really have not seen a cannon down there, nor have I seen people use guthans, so I tried the guthans method that I heard about, truthfully...it isn't good. Yes you will probably use less sharks, but it takes sooooo long to just get a kill that you will practically be wasting potions.
  7. I'd like to note that I have updated the guide to have Veracs down there. Edit: I have added even more strategies. Super Edit: Veracs here is dangerous and you will die if you use it...so don't!
  8. Ok, to the person who was talking about using guthans or veracs...the problem with that is, you are subject to massive damage from the dragon's melee attack which hits into the upper 20's, which would you rather get by? something that can hit close to 20 or close to 30? Little harsh of a comment, yes i know, but...killing dragons w/o anti-fire shield just isn't right...anywho...for all of those who have posted about using prayer pots instead of super restores...please read the whole guide before posting...SIDE NOTES...to be exact, and thanks to those that like the guide.
  9. Yes yes yes i know i know...warrior ring? just a substitute for the Archer ring i don't have, well i moved it to the right forum, thanks.
  10. eh...where would that be? like where should i repost?
  11. So after you have access to the New Barbarian cavern, you want to go kill some of the talked about Mithril Dragons. I have compiled a mini guide to help you kill these dragons, it may not be the best, but it is what I have found to be the best so far, especially since they fixed the bugged Safe Spots :P Before attempting to kill these dragons, I would suggest you have at least these combat stats: 80 attack, 80 strength, 80 defense, 80+ hitpoints, 75 range, 75 mage, 56+ Prayer. Suggested Combat Level for melee: 99+ Another Thing to point out: WEAR ANTI-FIRE SHIELD AT ALL TIMES. People have brought barrow sets down there and yes they can be effective, but the risk is just increased to pretty much a FATAL trip, the dragons Melee damage can be over twice what most of the mage or even the range hits. Using Veracs is a pure Deathwish and you will die pretty darn fast, using "protect from mage " and anti fire potions DOES NOT WORK! Melee If you decide to melee the dragons, they will not range you. There are simply two ways to melee the dragons and one way is better than the other. The two ways are using the "protect from mage" prayer and getting mauled by the dragons melee attacks, which hit frequent mid-high 20's. The 2nd and Best Way to kill these dragons, is to wear armor with a high Magic defense bonus. You then pray "protect from melee" and only the dragons magic attacks will hit you, I have yet to see one hit over 18 damage which is way less than the dragon melee'ing you for 20's.Here are some pictures to help you better understand this. Low Risk Melee If you feel like you are safe enough, you can bring better items down there and it could look something like this. High Risk Melee This is the type of Inventory you should have when you go to the Mithril Dragons while Melee'ing. Inventory For Melee Everytime you have to take a drink of anti-fire, drink a dose of your super set as well. Random Pictures of my friend Melee'ing the Mith Dragon: Range If you feel like you just can't melee them, you can choose to range them, I wouldn't suggest anything other than using Rune Crossbows. I also wouldn't suggest using anything under mithril bolts. What you want to do when you range them is pray "protect from missiles" and let the Mage attacks hit you while standing a safe distance away so you don't get melee'd. Here are some pictures to help you understand what I am talking about. Low Risk Range The reason for the Helm is for the prayer bonus, yes it doesn't give a range bonus, but you will be thankful for the prayer bonus when you see how much you use. If you are willing to risk more, here is what it could look like. High Risk Range After all of this, I did try ranging these, and even with Addy bolts i didn't hit too often, but they were hard hits, so range is an ok way to go. If you really wish to hit, use enchanted bolts, diamond (e) bolts were working wonders for me. Don't use Drag Bolts (e) for the simple reason that the special effect doesn't work. Here is what an inventory for Ranging mith drags could look like. Inventory For Range My Favorite Range Outfit This outfit seems to work VERY well for me, as I was able to kill 14 mithril dragons in one load, and many others that are 10+ kills a trip, I found my way to this by mixing and matching, im sure others can do the same. :) Here is what I would do for potion purposes. Every time you drink a dose of anti-fire, drink a dose of super defense and range potion as well. Also be sure to watch your prayer. Random Ranging Pictures at Mith Dragons: Besides just standing back and praying "protect from missiles" you do have a 2nd option of standing close to the Mith Dragon (melee'ing distance) and pray "protect from melee". The reason this works is because if you are within melee distance from the dragon, they won't attack with range, so you won't have to worry about that. Of course, this also helps because the dragon will now attack with an array of 3 attacks insstead of 2. But, if you move away, it has the chance to range you and could hurt you. Another downside to this is that the prayer drains faster than the other way. Mage If you want to use what most people did the first day and Mage the mithril dragons, it is fine to, but here is the deal, Jagex took out the safe spots because they were bugs and didn't belong there. (I used them for 9 hours, hehe) Ok, so here is what you do when you Mage them. You pray "protect from missiles" and while staying a safe distance away, get hit with the mage attacks, which still hit, but definitely not as hard as range would against a mage. Here are some pictures. Low Risk Mage If you feel like you can risk more, or just don't want to be hit as much. Here is what it could look like for you. High Risk Mage If you are wondering what spells to use and what your inventory should look like, here is a picture of what I came up with after the update. Inventory For Mage The best spell that I have found so far is Fire Wave. I have tried Slayer dart and have seen others as well, and my conclusion is that it doesn't hti that well against these mithril dragons, at least not as well as fire wave does. I suggest drinking a dose of super defense every time you drink anti-fire. I would like to note that I don't have any good pictures of maging the mithril dragons, because I didn't mage much after the safe spots were taken out. You will get hit more if you mage rather than range, because you won't have as high of a Mage Defense bonus. But as the range pictures showed, you just stand back, pray "protect from missiles" and let the mage hit you. It still won't be that bad. Another thing you might try, is just like the option for ranging, is to stand close and pray "protect from melee". Simply because if you are in melee'ing distance, the dragon will not shoot its range attack you. But be warned that if you move back, a range attack might shoot out. Map of Cavern Here is a mini map I stole off the runescape KB, I changed it a lil bit. It shows you were you start and where to go to get to the Mithril dragons. What you do when first dive into the whirlpool is: 1) Drink a dose of Anti-Fire potion. 2) Pray "protect from mage" 3) Go down the stairs and follow this map. Mithril Dragons are on the 2nd floor, while Green Brutal dragons, confused and lost barbarians, and waterfeinds are on the 1st floor. Barbarian Cavern Map. I would like to note that the Blue ground area surrounded by my pink lines, is the 2nd floor. The rest is the first floor. And if you are ever in any danger or need to run, go down to the first floor, pray "protect from mage" and head to the very west side of the first floor, take one of the aged logs out and it takes you to the bottom of the baxtorian waterfall. SIDE NOTES Most of these items can be switched with others, such as: ~Super Restore - Prayer Potion ~All The Rings - Ring of Wealth ~Boots I use - Boots you use ~Mix and match items that might suit you better ~Use what you have, you don't have to copy me ~I don't own a Seers or Archer ring, so I just put a DK ring in the slot, so if you wish to use a Seers or Archer ring, be my guest, I don't use a Warrior ring for Maging or Ranging. You don't have to use exactly what I use, I don't have everything, but I did try my best to set you up to succeed. I hope you can kill these mithril dragons without any problems at all, I have come close to dying but those Quick One-Click Teleports in your inventory can save you, I have the Tiny Elf Crystal for when I want a Safe One-Click teleport out, not when I'm in danger. When I'm in danger, I use the Home Tele Tab so if anything happens, I could die in my house and respawn outside my house without losing anything. Enjoy Killing the new Mithril Dragons. ^_^
  12. 6kc for barrows item and less runes, 12kc for mainly runes
