  1. I agree. I remember when bluerose was the richest player simply because she controlled the r2h supply. But the specialization skill is too complicated for runescape. This is a simple skill system where all skills are seperate. For example: you can raise both smithing and fletching by makings arrows, but the two skills don't raise at the same time. I think a core value at Jagex is to not complicate the game by making skills that raise in unison.
  2. Uh, the Command Prompt is DOS. Yes pretty much every OS is derived from Unix, but pretty much every car is derived from Benz, does that mean that one car should be above others? Each OS has it's place. Linux won't catch on enough to rival Windows anytime soon, and I doubt that Linux will EVER be bigger than windows. Usability- Windows Security- Linux Design- Mac the "average user" doesn't understand anything about security, they figure that as long as they have a firewall they are safe, so therefore Linux is always gonna be in the shadow. I think it's great that Dell is selling computers with Mandriva, but I don't think it's fair to the average PC user if they force them to learn an entirely new OS. I learned Linux by choice, I also CHOOSE not to learn Mac.
  3. Only problem I have with Firefox is that if I have RS in one tab I cannot type anything in any text boxes or the URL bar. As I type it moves the cursor back one letter for each letter I type, almost as though I have the OVR option in Word on, but backwards. Oh well, I've got better things to do anyway.
  4. You sound quite sure of yourself mercifull. Actually if you know any of the machine language then it would be quite simple to build a secondary driver that did that. Who knows, your printer may have the ability too (I have never heard of one that does though) Have you tried cleaning the heads? Most modern printers have some sort of cleaning process. If that doesn't work though I would just get a new printer.
  5. Why do people expect an invulnerable program? It's IMPOSSIBLE. There will always be something that IE has that Firefox doesn't, and vice versa. If you're stupid enough to put yourself into a situation which allows a vuln to be exploited then you deserve it. Quit trying to download your "1337 h4x0r pr0gz" and all your "pr0n" and you won't have to worry about any on-page vulns.
  6. Never mind. I converted both of the CD images to .iso's. Not only is it more efficient with only needing 2 files, but its also 200megs smaller now. Thanks tho.
  7. I have a game, the directory contains 8 files, I need to know the purpose of them. I am used to dealing with .iso and .bin/.cue but I have never seen this type of image files. I use Alcohol 120% to mount them as virtual drives so I want to know which ones I still need. Here are the names and file sizes: Game CD 1.sub 32,536 KB Game CD 2.sub 32,847 KB Game CD 1.img 804,741 KB Game CD 2.img 797,131 KB Game CD 1.cue 1 KB Game CD 2.cue 1 KB Game CD 1.ccd 1 KB Game CD 2.ccd 1 KB So far I have figured that the .ccd and .sub files belong together, I just dont understand the purpose of the .img and the .cue files without a .bin file. Further more can I turn the .ccd and .sub into a .iso?
  8. Wow, thanks for all the response guys, keep it coming. I have played quite a bit of what was said. And some things I have to say are: Morrowind: Surely the most indepth and original RPGs? I've been watching Obvlivion since it was announced. Civ 3: I love that game, I had Civ 2 for PS1 classic. Serious Sam: I hate that game, lol :-P thanks for helping though :D Yeah, I have wireless but most of the connections I can dig up aren't extremely fast so I don't really feel like online games.
  9. Alright so I have like 2 hours between classes and I need some nifty single player games for my laptop to occupy my time. Here are the specs on my comp: P4 M- 1.6ghz Mobile Intel 915GM 128 meg card 512 MB of ram Windows XP So the trouble I'm having is finding a sort of "Top 10 low-end games" I have lots of emulators and roms and such, but that holds my attention only so long. Right now I have: Sim City 4 Empire Earth 2 GTA 2 as you can see I've only found RTS games that have real good replay value. I wanted *maybe* an FPS, but def something other than RTS. Well thanks in advance if you can give me some suggestions.
  10. Unless you have some dire reason to have your computer on (updates, defragging, scanners, etc...) Then there's no reason to just let it sit there. For some reason people like to leave their computer on so all their friends can see their "cool" away message on AIM, I personally think that is a crap reason, but hey what do I know? Besides wasting electricity you coud possibly fry your HDD if you're using Windows. Leaving your computer unmonitored just begs for hackers as well.
  11. When I boot up my laptop I have to wait for about 1-2 minutes for my NICs to come up in the taskbar. While I am waiting I cannot use the start menu at all, when I attempt to move my mouse onto the start menu/taskbar it turns into the hourglass until I remove my cursor from it. Finally my 2 NICs pop up in the taskbar and I can go about normally. Attempted fixes: Uninstalled drivers for both NICs, and updated. Removed ALL items from my startup (i.e msconfig, Run, runonce, Startup, etc...) So far nothing, my specs are: Windows XP Pro SP1 Intel Pentium 4M 1.6ghz 512 mb ram Realtek 810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC Intel PRO Wireless 2200 BG
