  1. Personality is worth more than a high level. If some high level is being rude to you without any reason, just remember that you're the better person, be it in personality or intelligence. And hopefully when you're their level, you won't act the same because you know how it feels :)
  2. t0nkys

    Lame names.

Personally, I don't mind about names people choose... I care about my own of course. None of my names are completely original - t0nkys comes from Tonks in Harry Potter... Originally wanted t0nks, but you can't always get what you want in life : My favourite name without numbers is Unsaturated :D I like science...
  3. I would like to say, I disagree with your explanation and parts of your diagram. Firstly, your diagram should look more like this: Firstly, I forgot to put in lost revenue (rather than profit, as you stated - it's a bit of a misnomer). This isn't actually the case. In a normal economy, a surplus in supply leads to lower prices. Why? Because people do not demand that much supply, and at a higher price nobody is willing to buy the produce (it almost could be like the cobweb theorem effect - the supplier predicting how much the consumer demands and ending up supplying too much). Therefore they have to supply at price P2, purely because consumers wouldn't buy it otherwise - it's like a method of drumming up demand for their good and selling more of it. This temporarily makes the supply curve perfectly inelastic, until a new equilibrium is reached. I also think you need a few ceteris paribus' scattered about - just for consistency since you haven't accounted for unexpected events, such as a sudden love for bounty hunter (like that would ever happen :XD: ) but you get my drift. Someone can obviously correct me on the finer points if I'm wrong (I'm only doing an A-level in economics after all, I might not be right).
  4. Yeah P2P takes so much skill, you have to click on a "special attack" bar a whole 4 times!! [/sarcasm] It's the timing that matters : But think what you will. If you personally base skill on clicking well... You need more clicking for P2P :D
  5. If you believe in God, aren't you supposed to believe that God made man, rather than the other way around? :-k
  6. P2P PKing probably needs more brains, due to the higher number of variables in the battle such as pots, specials... etc.
  7. The other RPG I play, there's almost no economy. and it takes almost 6 months to get everywhere due to the unusually large size of the game map. The map is about 10 times the size of RuneScape. Well, it's exactly what I mean really. My idea of adventure is different to yours. I enjoy an economy in the game (perhaps because I study economics?) and I don't usually find my adventure in exploring. Whilst you might enjoy trawling a landscape for 6 months, I'm not as keen. I'd rather do something different and explore in the process. I haven't even gotten around the whole of Runescape yet!
  8. It really all depends on your definition of adventure really. My idea of adventure is basically having a break from reality, doing things I wouldn't do in real life. Others are exploring new areas, and obviously the adventure might end for you once you've been everywhere. Some people complain about the repetitive tasks, but it's pretty good life skills in my opinion. My endurance has increased with my Saturday job, that's for sure, and when I first started it I was nearly falling asleep :D Economy = I haven't seen an RPG with no economy whatsoever. Probably the worst example of an economy in an RPG is one where you can't trade with other players, and only with shopkeepers. And you have to admit, that's pretty boring. The best part of the economy actually is conversing with other players. Although this isn't as great now due to the GE :(
  9. The difference is, when someone ran in the old wilderness, there is some sort of chance of you killing them. In Bounty Hunter, you can just stand in the entrance and when you think you might die, you can just exit and you're okay, and whoever was fighting them doesn't have a chance to finish it off. Although, to be fair, I'd like to clarify that I haven't pked because I was and still am rubbish at it :D Either way, I don't think danger has been completely eliminated.
  10. Personally, I haven't had much problems with being a female in a male dominated game. Okay yes, occasionally people say I'm hot, which is pretty disturbing... :-k I think I've only been accused of being a man once, which promptly led to people in the vicinity defending me. How very gentlemanly of them : Happy New Year, by the way :D
  11. No offense (which means offense is inadvertently about to occur), but is it really worth posting a rant about it? Come on, the guy told you to shut up. Not worth a thread is it? :-s
  12. All I remember is that I was wielding an addy pickaxe.. Still beat him though
  13. A food should be made that may be slightly more complicated than fish - but it could be made to not only heal hitpoints, but restore prayer points too. That would be a great incentive for me to not just fish for cooking exp.
