I doubt it. The pickaxes don't last very long (15-20k depending on ore I believe). They're worth it if you would rather play SC then do LFM :P I don't think it's particularly inefficient to use if you want, but I don't think it'll get you ahead.

If it's a few hours, then I don't do anything out of the ordinary. My sleeping habits shift if my parents go out of town tho. Staying up til 4 on skyrim.

Excellent suggestion. Any change you'll take all the other whingers with you too? I think Quyneax will burst a blood vessel at this rate (in as efficient a manner as possible of course). I quit 14 months ago. I quit with this update as well. Despite the fact that the effigy update doesn't affect me personally, and not only because I pretty much stopped playing a month ago >_> The thing that irks me, there were so many better ways to implement an effigy nerf. The cap really hurts people who want to save the effigies for when they can open them and don't want to grind the skill until they can.

This. If Jagex was smart, they would have made an RC/Agility update, possibly beta-test it to make sure that exp rates are good and it's not TOO too horrible of a grind, then nerfed effigies.

Effigies definitely needed a fix. I should point out however, that a ridiculous drop like that isn't a bad thing - as long as the frequency is low enough. I also have no idea of the frequency of it. Plenty of better fixes. I should point out with yours, that the penalty only works if you have BOTH required skills. Removing the potential for fast exp in a day or something seems stupid, as only fansites track that sort of thing, and after 2 years of effigies it won't make a difference. The popularity of effigies was really a reflection on how boring, or slow, or both, some skills are to train. Also, did Jagex consider removing effigies from the drop tables of mummies and cave crawlers?

I picked em up because I knew they were popular and were made into a TV series - a sign that it's probably a good book. I still feel like a bit of a tool for that.
