2048MB of RAM is plenty, I'd get him a better graphics card. Like a 8800GT or a 9800GT (better but more expensive)

Download IE pro (works with 8 too) - http://www.ie7pro.com/ and install. Open up IE: Tools - IE7Pro preferences - Settings - unbock: open tab from adress field (you might aswell unbock them i all, i find it annoying to get everything in a new tab). Ah ofcourse, I was looking in IE 8's options, thanks a lot Joe. =D>

I have this annoying problem: When I type a website like www.google.com and press enter to go to it, IE 8 opens it in a new tab, anyone know how I turn that off?

Ah yes, the almighty CrapCleaner. Could save you a couple of hundred Megabytes of... er well crap. Use that too and if all that doesn't work try the RuneScape offcial forums at Tech Help.

Actually the 8600gt is outdated. You'd be better off buying an 8800GT or even an Ati Radeon 4850 (if you have a PSU of at least 450 Watt)

FireFox is 1? Do you mean you use FireFox version 1? If thats the case you should update FireFox to 3.0.7. Go to www.java.com
