  1. Well they are already non-members now so it can't hurt at least? :P
  2. No but you play shorter on a day so you play more days and months so rs gets more money right right?
  3. Yes a timer would be perfect, although I don't know if it is very hard to add or something. As for no will power people changing the time limit, perhaps they could only do so when they are paying every month. Although they might still change it longer and longer ...
  4. Oh well, I have decided to stay free for a while. :D The initial construction temptation has been tamed. :)
  5. Thanks guys for all the wonderful ideas! I'm almost there now, just one more load of silver and then I'll be able to do something with my 87 cut rubies... :D
  6. Another thing is that parents may now actually willing to pay for their kids' subscription, if they feel that there is a limit to the game time.
  7. Why not a good business decision? The income is from monthly payment isn't it? It doesn't matter how long one plays daily? In fact if they play sparsly they will perhaps play longer and thus a longer revenue stream ...
  8. The problem is I have zero will power. :P You know you start out with planing to play a little while. Before you know it three hours are gone with the wind. What oh what can you do?
  9. With this new introduction of construction and POH I'm attempted to become a member. However, since I'm now already rather addicted, I thought it's really a bad idea to be given more features and fun things to play with. So I was thinking, perhaps we can suggest Jegax add another kind of members, they pay the same thing and have the same previliges. However, there is a special thing that they can do, that is, when they pay their money they can specify how long a day they will allow themselves to play, say, 2 hours. Then everyday after they played for 2 hours, the game will kick them out and they cannot log back in until the next day. If there is a function like that, I'm sure many players like me will actually sign up. What do you all think?
  10. I am non member, although this new housing thing is very attempting. ;) Looks like I'll have to follow azn's steps, mining silver and teleporting ... As for wool balls, how could it be fast? I mean where do you find sheep that is close to a bank?
  11. varrock sewer is also good, in my opinion.
  12. I did failed cursing and crumble undead to go to level 55. You just need to remember to change costums lol.
  13. I'm now 46 and want to get to 50. Pottery is so boring. Silver stuff means lots of travel. As to gold jewlry, gems are hard to come by, and where are the sheeps? You need needles and threads for the hardleathers ... Anyways they are all not that appealing. So which should I do?
  14. Actually, each of the little piece has its background. The SMAC one, for example, did happen. ;) http://apolyton.net/forums/showthread.p ... did=112864
  15. It's real, jin. One day you may wake up and realize that you too have been playing a game. And you'll want to play another one, perhaps in a planet that is far away ... ;);)
  16. Yes, this story was rooted from one of my thoughts, that life is like a game that has no restart. You stumble ahead, and you fail. You wish you could start again but time has flew by. You witness all those you can't change. And you wonder what another game would be like. "Is life a dream or is it a game? Is there a restart? Does one get another chance?" What it really matter though, is that you have experienced. And lived.
  17. Of course leveling up can be a good goal. And getting lots of money can be another goal. But what fun is it if you are doing it simply for the sake of doing it? I mean what good is money if you don't have a good plan to use for some good fun? I trained my mage to 55 because I wanted to try the fun of high alching. I trained my combat because I need the chaos and deaths for the magic trainning, plus I wanted to fight lessers. I trained my runecrafting for the low level runes. I trained my crafting because, well it is fun to craft those gems into good magic pieces. Now that swordies is the highest level fish I can catch. What use it has to level up more? I've cooked about every kind of food a free player can. What use it has to level up cooking? I can level up wood cutting but I can't use willows or yews on anything since I can't do fleching, right? I'm already fighting lessers. Who good will leveling up combat do me? Who else can I fight? I'm still not sure if I want to kill players yet. Perhaps I could level up mining some more and one day I will be able to make rune armors, that sounds fun. But mining coals is sooo boring. :P
  18. I wonder if it would be helpful for the newcomers if we all write down the occasions we encountered when people tried to scam us for items and passwords. There have been two occasions that were very interesting when somebody tried to get my password. Once a girl invited me to her team and says that the rule is all team members must give her their passwords so she can store their stuff in case they die in the wildness. Another one pretended to be Jagex. It went like this: Jagexmoder: Hi, Myia. This is Jagex. Myia: Hi Jagexmoder: We have been watching your progress. You have done great. We would like to ask you if you want to become a player moderator. Myia: What would my duty be? Myia: It's a great honor to speak to you, btw. Jagexmoder: You will get free membership and other benefits if you become a player moderator. Myia: That's awesome! But what do I need to do if I become one? Jagexmoder: Nothing. Except for reporting abuses and things like that. Jegaxmoder: If you agree you need to give us your pass so we can load things to your account. [Ding Ding! Alarm Rings] Myia: You want my password? Why? Jagexmoder: Yes we need your password to load things to your account. We will also give you a million gp if you agree to be a player mod. [if it sounds too good to be true, it is not true. Jagex do not give money to people.] Myia: I thought you already have my password. I mean it's your game and database isn't it. Jagexmoder: Do you want to become a player mod or not? Myia: Of course. Jagexmoder: Ok. All we need is your password. Myia: I will have to think a little about this one. Let me get back to you ok? Jagexmoder: This is a one time offer. Once your log off you will miss the chance. [This is standard scam technique. They don't want you to think because it is likely you will not do it if you think.] Myia: I thought you would want people who are prudent to be your mods. Jagexmoder: You don't have to do it if you don't want to. But this is your only chance. Myia: I have been mod in other places and they never asked for my password. Jagexmoder: They are scammers. This is the first time and last time you will be offered player modship. Myia: Who are scammers? Jagexmoder: Remember you will get free membership and many other benefits. So do you want to become one? Myia: I was asking you a question. Jagexmoder: Oh sorry, I missed that. They are people who want to treat you into giving them stuffs. Myia: Do they pretend they are Jegax and ask people for passwords? [Hahaha. Couldn't help to tease him a little bit.] Jagexmoder: No. They sometimes offer to trim your armors but they don't give it back to you. Myia: [More testing] I recently died and lost my rune long sword and rune plateskirt. Jagexmoder: Alright we will replace those for you too. [Ding ding! Success!] Myia: You are this desperate for the password and you will do anything for it aren't you. [This is as blunt as it can be. How could the guy still put up a straight face?] Jagexmoder: No. We offer it to you but you don't have to do it if you don't want. Myia: You just don't get it do you? The real Jagex don't talk like this. Jagexmoder: I am the real Jagex. Myia: Then prove your are offical. Jagexmoder: There isn't any way to prove it. Jegax is not a person. We are a team. You just have to trust us. Myia: Send me an email. You have my email address right? Jagexmoder: Jegax has a policy not to send email to people. Myia: Jegax also has a policy not to ask for password. Jagexmoder: So do you want to be a player mod or not? Myia: By all means make me one. Just don't ask for my password. Jagexmoder: We can't do it unless you give us your password. Myia: [sigh, how dumb can one be? Can't he see that this isn't one fish that's gonna bite the hook?]I'll pass it then. Myia: And work on your offical stance some more. [Does he even understand the sarcastism?] The one thing that should have tipped me right in the beginning which I missed, is that all Jagex staff will have a golden crown attached to their message when they spoke.
  19. I've been playing a couple months now. I've finally got level 55 mage and 70 combat. I've been to the ice cave and fought the lessers. I fished lobs and swordies to keep myself fed. I mined to level 50 and crafted to level 40. I've done about all free quests. What other intersting things could I do? Should I train my ranged now? Or is there not much good things to do unless I become a member?
  20. Thanks guys! Read my other story if you want to read more. ;) That was one of my best, if I may say so myself. :D
  21. Thanks guys. I've written a dozen pieces and this is the one I like the most myself. I've put my heart into it when I wrote it. I'm glad that you all enjoyed it. :)
  22. It's a wonderful idea. I might be interested myself in two week after my finals. I will spend more time later to see if I feel familiar enough with the settings and can contribute.
  23. It is an interesting read. Good job! It would raise the level of the product if you could provide a better trace of your character's thought process, for example, why would he suddenly leave his fishing chores and strike that poor passersby. Was he boiled with disgruntlement from his fight with the lesser demon and wanted to fight? Was he nervous about his equipment and hoping to get some good replacements? It would then connect better with the later part about his seemingly regret.
  24. Lady, IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m your knight in shining armor and I love you You have made me what I am and I am yours My love, thereÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s so many ways I want to say I love you Let me hold you in my arms forever more You have gone and made me such a fool IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m so lost in your love And oh, we belong together WonÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t you believe in my song? Lady, for so many years I thought IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢d never find you You have come into my life and made me whole Forever let me wake to see you each and every morning Let me hear you whisper softly in my ear In my eyes I see no one else but you ThereÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s no other love like our love And yes, oh yes, IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll always want you near me IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve waited for you for so long Lady, your loveÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s the only love I need And beside me is where I want you to be ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢cause, my love, thereÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s somethinÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ I want you to know YouÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re the love of my life, youÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re my lady! Blue moon. The dark outlines of the forest and the hills were strangely tall and precipitous. The night was unnaturally silent, as if all noises were muffled by the darkness. Somebody was watching her. Myia turned her head around, and was startled by two shining green eyes. She sat up abruptly, grabbing the jade ring that was hanging in front of her chest subconsciously, and scooted back. A soft milk-white glow from the ring leaked through her fingers. It looked like a man. She could not tell how old he was. Most of his face was hidden in the dark, except for the two glittering green eyes. His ears seemed a little pointy, indicating that he may not be entirely human. She opened her mouth to ask who he was, but her words were frozen before the manÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s cold and silent stare. He stood up, and disappeared into the darkness. Myia let out a breath, while surprised how tall he appeared to be. All the noises of the night suddenly came back. She could hear the cry of an owl not far from her. And the pains ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ She almost mourned to the sharp pain in her left leg when he came back with a bowl. Seeing that she didnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t intend to take the bowl from him, the man sighed, and explained: ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅYou fell from the cliff and broke your leg. YouÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve been unconscious for two days.ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  25. Red fungus shined brightly under the morning suns. Black and golden pieces of mindworms scattered around. A lifeless body of a girl lay in the center. A dimly lighted phrase showed up in the background of crimson fungus: ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅSorry, you lost.ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
