oh, well it looks to me like a wall.... yeah, the further back it goes, the further away from the lightource it is, so it should be a good bit darker.

there is no perspective in that picture, i cant even tell what the backround is oh and also, light hits different objects at different angled differently. Try turning off all the lights except a lamp to see what I am talking about.
