For your contest pixel, it must be be LARGER than 45x45 pixels, but SMALLER than 200x200. you must private message it to me, who will host it on a private site, where only the judges can comment there oppinions on it. this is to prevent any "onebetta"-ing. brackets will be set up based on skill and experience. so no begginer will go up against a great like Terly in the first round. the theme for the first round contest pixel will be given on December 15th. an example of a theme. draw something that symbolizes strenth(not the actual theme) but as we go on, each round gives a more difficult challange. cant wait to see some enthusiam! -MDH ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original Post ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The first ever TIF battle of the Pixelers!! ok.. while browsing through other boards, i got an idea for a contest... something to put the pixeler's power to use. So.. how does it work? well, pixelers will enter, and they will each have to "outpixel" each other. in a 1 vs 1 battle. there will be a given theme, and thanks to our 3 judges, which ever pixelers pixel gets the higest rating moves on to the next round. there, a new chalange awaits. Sounds simple enough, but things are needed, first, we need 2 more judges to join me. but i dont except anyone, nope, you have to know a thing or two about pixels in order to become a judge, as having someone who gives everything a 10/10 throws off the ballance. Other stuff: Must it be RS related? No, i personally will rate higher if its original, but i cannot speak for the other judges Size requirement? Due to the ammount of time you will have to enter, the size can be anysize above 30x30, but you will get a higher score depending on DETAIL Must it be hand pixeled? Yes, and that means no autodithered work, and no gradients. i can sniff out autodither and gradients from miles away. NEWS Comming soon :thumbsup:

QFT! I don't think I would have been near as close to where I am now in art if it were not for a lot of critism, a lot of it which was very harsh. I didn't like it back then but it did motivate me to try and get better to "prove them wrong". As far as C/C goes there are a few posters lurking around that are giving some great C/C for pixels. However, sadly, I feel that the quality of C/C for some abstracts isn't "as" good. [minus Cad's critism perhaps]. Mostly because I haven't gotten any in a while. :( Meh ill say the same about harsh C\C... when i started Gs simply tore my work to shreds again and again... Comments like "you know pants aren't metal poles, they have folds!" Got thrown at me time and time again :ohnoes: Still, i wish there were people who would still do that... :( hehe, read some of my posts? because godslayer has left this forum (i talked with im about it on pixeljoint), i tried to take over his place, but then since people started hating me.... i kinda stopped... and i'm still hated .. go figure

yes! for the first time I made an abstract that I dont think is insainly horrible, but i do need a bit of help adding on some text, so if anyone can add on "You don't know what you've got till its gone... gone...gone..." it would be helpfull :thumbsup:

just a note: pillow shading = bad.... and thats what you did, instead of going 1-2-3-2-1 for colors, go with a more 1-2-3-4-3, as that makes it MUCH more realistic... pluss pillow shaded pixels are looked down upon... immensly... and now, so i dont get flamed i have to add in a compliment... nice job on the texture as it looks like a real piece of cloth, just amke sure the shading fixes that

What motivates you to make a pixel work for free, even though there are other forums that you can go and sell your talent?
