  1. Were you suggesting having an option to stop all scanning, kind of putting it on pause?

Yes, this post should be read as a suggestion. I didn't know exactly if it is already through a hotkey possible; but as it isn't it is my suggestion.

For example if I do something else between floors it's a bit of a waste to check for a map :P.

  2. Hi there,

it may be that I miss something, but is there a quick "disable" feature through the system tray? Other than unloading I mean. Disabling should remove the screen clutter & halt the scanning/active components.

  3. Ape Atoll with summer pies (the no-fail level is 75; summer pies boost your level by 5) or an agility aura (always no-fail).

Doubt it's worth the trouble for the small amount of fails you have from 70 onwards.. Think I can count all my fails between 74 & 75 on 1 hand.

  4. Gear sounds ok, like Quy said gano is a bit costly, But Barrows isnt really a good way to make alot of cash. I prefer bossing and slayer for cash myself.

well slayer is really losing me more money than I gain.. cannoning takes its toll...

As I said: I can't boss since people don't accept you unless you have 95+ herblore & 95+ prayer; that's my goal. (And once I have that I won't need money anymore; so I won't bosshunt for money then). Anyways - should I take ahrims robe bottom (or veracs?) instead...?

  5. Having disposable income doesn't make you rich, you can live in a cheap flat/apartment with a decent job, and still have money left after buying what you need, which can either go towards leisure, or saving up for a house deposit, and leasure could include SoF spins/Rcoins.

Anyway: pendants of skill, meh, skilling. :(

Once again: that makes you rich; I have a decent job yet no money left over each month.

  6. I actually enjoy Head to Head, even with the not-so-great gameplay. (At least show us what the different statuses do, instead of just hoping whatever cards we have happen to explain them! And be more specific with your prayer/focus/injury ignoring negative effects/next X cards, because they don't actually work that way.)

I'd love to see them open up Resource Race to multiple people at once, so it's more of a race and less of a "hmm, what do I want xp in now...". It'd make an awesome event for the Clan Cup! (Also I'm considering trying to powertrain up to 80 farming to place better on those highscores.)

Regardless, I like the 30k agil xp and 5k farm xp per day quite a bit; it's nice. And WOO for letting us store the costume pieces individually!

That game is called... stealing creation?

  7. Any update to a squeel of fortune is an insult to honest player who started playing this game because his thought was equal to jagex:

-we do not want a game where one who is rich in reality is better than one who is not-.

Being rich in real life doesn't make you better in this game than those who aren't. The only real benefit is paying for members. Everything else is just a slight for participating... Sure you might get a bit more from buying spins and whatnot, but it still doesn't change much. Why don't you make an honest and educated stance against this by doing your homework and checking out the percentages of spins get you small, medium, large lamps and consider the rest junk.

I really just may do this when I get home and see if I can get a large sample to play with. I'm so sick of everyone jumping on the impovished versus the wealthy bandwagon that I just may waste my time researching this to throw one of you under its wheels.

And this is once again an offence to scientists: just admit it you are more than willing to show your real life riches & do it only because you are rich.

  8. There are 300-600 active users every time I go on there. I'm not sure if there were more previously, but that still seems rather impressive. I would guesstimate the community at ~100k (taking everyone who has read/posted once in the last month, for example). Does that sound right?

Alright I suppose theres use, but does anyone important - save the HLF use it. I scroll on and its a bunch of trolls, and obviously very young posters and internet memes being thrown around on there all the time. It doesn't really seem productive. I dont support additional censorship especially blocking out the company owners (over 50% of the stock share iirc) seems very shady but at the same time I dont blame them for doing it.

Ah you need to have high stats to be important? What a bunch of elitism you show... again.

Everyone is important in an MMO.

  9. Well the problem for dg is that there is only 1 thing prayer -at 92- that gives solid enhanced sustainability. A good upgrade for example would be if the regen prayers would be tripled for dg: that would put a lot less stress on the requirement of 95 prayer to be successful.

Tripling is not enough. And 95 prayer is hardly a requirement. It's not at all useful for pathing, for example, where you take damage without dealing any (also means no food drops).

As for the farming > pray/herb > mh cycle, it's the natural cycle in RS at the moment. You have to do something without cash to make cash, and the thing that requires the least cash to get up to an acceptable gp/hr happens to be farming (and MTK etc.).

A game should never become linear, as that means the replayability of a game really goes down the drain. Clever game design doesn't make certain method best: instead a whole range of methods are equally good to beat the game. (and in RS getting xp is more or less beating the game).

  10. Hi there,

Some may have noticed, but I'm looking for some manner to get a good amount of money; something different from frost dragons as there I just wish to rip my hairs of to the amount of bots. - After I noticed glacors won't be good for me I'm looking into barrows.

I know I can do barrows easily, and I will pps most of them (all apart of akrisae, karils I skip as that set is worth least at the moment). However some questions; consider my levels:

    88 mage, 90-95 melee, 85 pray, 92 herblore.

    - I currently use the helm of neitiznot, maybe mage helmet?

    - currently I use gandormic - maybe verac/beserker torso?

    - currently I use zerker ring - maybe seers/row?

    - I use as back up weapons rapier & korasis. - Maybe eee is better for spec? Or dds?

  11. With a hood, I didn't have much trouble surviving. You just need to pick up food between kills and ss flash - aka what you do already. Surviving with a plate is much easier.

sigh and what for those without 95 prayer?

Idk, go do some herb runs or something.

    Elitism, much?

Not sure about you, but what is the point of gathering dungeoneering items if you're already maxed combat?

Really; people seem like to think there is a 1 route to rs now - and they are actually thinking that is good? First do farming for money -> then herblore/prayer/max combat -> then gather items for monster hunting -> then gather cash for other buyable -> then level those.

Really is that the only way rs can be played efficiently in the future?

  12. You can kill glacors with fire wave, but the max hit reduction from 280 to 200 means you will kill roughly 20% slower, and you won't be able to kill unstable last as easily. The profit would be lower too - assuming 1 of each boot and 100 shards per 1k kills (+5k per kill from rune items), you get about 70k loot per kill. With fire wave you'd be looking at 40-45 kph with steel titan/turmoil/overload/rapier. About 3m loot/hour max. Without steel titan, ~35 kph, without turmoil/rapier, 30ish? Costs are probably 300-400k/hr in runes, prayer potions, familiar scrolls and such.

92 prayer is for healing. 95 is better because you will be able to melee the glacytes (SoA is a bit expensive). Without 92 prayer you will need to be closer to perfect with prayer switching and evading specials, and you'll need a healing familiar or eee + some food. Since iron/steel titans save 5-15 seconds per kill each time, giving them up for a unicorn is rather expensive.

Glacors are a good way to train magic starting at 88 with overloads. Before that, barraging rock lobsters or skeletons.

Problem is to GET those items (summoning, herblore & prayer) one needs money.. If I'd have those skills already I wouldn't be thinking about combat.

  13. Hi there,

As I'm currently evaluating the options for gaining money I'm looking into glacors. However the tip.it guide says 95 is "required" (Or boosting). Now I wonder how strong that requirement is, with 87 magic can I do it in some way? - And if I can what would be the hourly profit (I'm aiming for an activity which earns me 2, near 3M hourly).

On another node: what is currently a good/best way to train magic?

Also I notice it requires 92 prayer - can it also be done without that?

  14. In which case a shop could just get literary 1 item and say "it is sold out" after first buyer. I really have no respect for companies that do otherwise and add those clausules (and actually use them). A company should have a well thought business plan and only in extreme changes their business plan should change.

  15. ^ Is that "good" block list even efficient? If his ultimate goal is 99 Slayer and 99 Summoning surely it's worth using a slightly less efficient Slayer block list in favour of Summoning experience?

Not sure if hedgehog blocked waterfiends, but other than that the common "good" blocklist don't really block good charm tasks.

  16. Found this on runescape.wikia.

Am I reading this correctly that it's illegal to sell out of something in the EU?

If you are getting it back in stock, you have to sell for the price you offered when the customer came. Isn't that normal? A customer comes to a market because of some book where he found a price; so he expects that. It is cheating if you can't offer it for that price. So there are rules that I can pay you at say friday, and then I hear "next delivery is at tuesday" and I can just retrieve my goods at tuesdays.

It just means companies are not allowed to put get out for free card, in small letters somewhere

  17. Negative weight doesn't need to do anything, it's just there so we can see how much weight we've got to play with before we hit 1kg and thus start facing faster energy drain etc.

Besides despite what some may say even with musicians weight reduction is important because sitting around at a musician is an xp waste and must tasks you do where you can run out of energy like that from being heavy are not near musicians.

Well with 85 agility I can safely say I don't remember sitting ever at a musician.

  18. I see a get out clause for buyable darts tbh..

They slap that on the end of every future update post.

Still a potential get out clause if the darts prove popular enough, similar to subject to availability clauses on sale items in shops. They try not to run out but if they do customer has no grounds for complaints.

This clause on the end of posts just serves the same purpose or has the potential to, they say now items won't be sold in Solomon's store or put on SOF, but just wait til IVP get greedier or Solomon's store proves less of a profit maker than expected. Then I expect fully to see all 4 items for sale.

I distrust Jagex ever since the whole no more free trade/wildy U-turn and removal of real life clause of RWT rule after SOF buyable spins were released.

funny thing is that "subject to availability" is illegal in the EU: if you see it is sold out & they are planning to get the same item again later, you are in full rights to expect the reduction - given you were in the shop at the time of the sale. Only if they don't get that item anymore they are not obligated.

Those clauses in a normal environment hold no meaning as the goal - obscuring information for customers - is against the honour code on advertisement.

Well it's legal in the UK, or a lot of major companies are breaking the law.

it is only breaking the law once you wish to fullfill it: it is up to YOU to show initiative and go to the company telling them you wish to buy it. At which point they reluncantly will sell it (and you can then always later receive the item by showing the payment receipt). Most shops add this in the hopes consumers are not well aware of their rights & won't demand this.
