  1. great idea, this would make trading so much easier. especially since when Im in busy worlds, I turn chat off so I can see trade requests. once in the trade window and people are putting up dumb stuff or weird ammounts, I close the screen and they're saying "only 100!" but of course, im selling 1k, and NOT 100, but thats a different story all together. this would help a TON
  2. I dont think that mining your own ess will ever be cost vs time effective. your better off buying them. the abyss is faster, but if you die, you can be set back for a quite awhile getting your pouches back. Ive found using the gnome gliders along with glorys and rings of dueling was just a tad slower than the abyss, but its alot safer :) at 60 RC on my banned account I was making about 1.3k nats an hour with the 3 pouches
  3. I did some searching and didnt find much that went into detail like I have so I thought I would share my calculations Ive been doing in case anyone is curious. I based this guide off my fishing level being at 78. Im using my old character Leinhart1 (I want lunar back :( ) Ive been fishing a ton lately, and it gets very boring, in-fact, Im fishing while im writing this, lol. Put simply, Lobsters are way better XP actually over double the amount per hour, and sharks are better money per hour, but not by a -ton- To me fishing is certainly not the way to go if your looking to get rich. It can save you money if you want to spend the time, getting your own food. The higher level you are, the faster you can get some fish of course. While being bored I started timing my trips from the bank, to the fishing spot, and then back to the bank, and taking averages. I was fishing in the fishing guild, using the dock closest to the bank exit for all my times. for lobsters it broke down as so: my fast trip was 4:03 I would start timing when I closed the bank window, ended timing after putting the fish in the bank and closing the window. the longest trip was 8:34 when I got a evil bob random that sent me to scaperune :/ on average I would catch a full load in between 5-6 mins so I went with 5.5 mins as the average time per trip thats basically 11 trips in an hour, making that 297 lobsters. thats 26,730 xp an hour and about 60k per hour, at between 200-210 ea for sharks it went as so: my fastest trip was 19mins the longest was 19:50 no random encounters on this testing either. so it could go a bit higher again I used an average of 19.5 mins thats about 3 trips in an hour, making that 81 sharks in an hour thats 8,910 xp per hour and about 70-81k an hour depending on prices, anywhere from 850-1000ea ive seen for cooked. The break down lobsters: 26k xp an hour / 60k gold per hour Sharks: 8.9k xp an hour / 70-80k gold per hour Im interested when sharks will become better xp per hour, but my guess would be around level 90 :/ Now my final conclusion is that: I dont see fishing as ever being a profitable skill compared to others, even at 99 it probably wouldnt make as much as you could off runecrafting at half the level :( However I think it would be nice in the long run to not have to spend money on food especially for doing barrows runs, pk'n, ect. ect. If any of my stuff seems off, or if you have any ideas to add to it all please let me know :)
  4. you keep your most expensive items, but each GP acts as an item, so if you only have money on you, you will keep 3gp, same goes for runes. As far as the scam, who cares how he did it.. If someone wants to trade you in edgeville, tell them to meet you in varrock. If they wont, tell them to go scam someone else, simple. Now you know, unfortunetly it cost you alot to learn, but you wont be making that mistake anymore eh?
  5. Firstly Id point out those ads are by google, they are in no way generated by tip.it. google reads words off your site and attempts to find ads that fit in with what your site is about. Its not human generated, and those rs gold sites have runescape in them, and so does the site, so google thinks its a great match. secondly I'd like to say im glad the tip.it has address'd the problem on the main page. Sure people complain about updates all the time, but this one is ridiculous indeed. Im just going to copy something I wrote in the rants section because I think it is relevant here as well.. Im sure a vast majority of us here dont work for a large corp. However if we can all sit here and figure out what was going to acually happen with this update and not what jagex was claiming their reasoning to be.. Dont you think they could have put their collective heads together over there and seen what this was going to cause? hmmm makes you wonder really, are they so blind to see that this is just going to drive autoers to the members side? Doesnt it seem like this may have been the underlying point to begin with? They say, if these companys are going to make money off of selling our rs gold, we should get a cut of their money too?? This might drive autoers away from the f2p ess mines, but they will simply move elsewhere.. any level 3 can go pick flax on the member server, and its worth alot more than rune ess. Plus the trip time is probably alot shorter than a trip back and forth from the ess mine. So what are they going to do about that? Cant make pure flax, because its members only. Whats next pure yews? I can understand that jagex would rather have paying members, but at the same time, they more than likely make enough money off the advertising to be able to provide servers for free play. Why would they want to lose all their free playing customers? The autoers are acually winning here, jagex is adjusting the game to "Attempt" to rid the game of macrors. When they should be adjusting the game to help their customers not hinder them.. I guess they thought it would be a good idea to make the RS economy alot more like RL. Now not only do you get to learn about economy, you also get a taste of playing the stock market. The essense market crashed yesterday, now people are out alot of money. This is something people wherent ready to be prepared for. There is never a massive sway in prices like this in the game. You could possibly invest in something and hold it for months on end just to have it lose value, but nothing like this.
  6. Your saying you craft 1k nats per hour! That's very nice espicially for someone who can't even do double nats. :) Its acually not that difficult, mind you with my rc on this character I cant quite get 1k an hour since I dont have a large pouch, but on lunar I did so I could make 42 nats a trip, it would take roughly 2mins 30sec a trip so thats 24 trips and hour making 1008 an hour. someone that could make double nats, would also have a giant pouch so they could make 110 in a trip that would be 2640 nats an hour, which is WAY better cash :) I want 91 rc :P 790k an hour, I could deal with.
  7. crafting nats, 300k an hour. merchanting whips is good money, I can make 500k an hour if things go well, but its not very stable and Id rather raise some runescape skills than my typing skills :P
  8. well he has a rune helmet, a cheesy yellow cape, and some sort of pick, cant see if its rune or not. thats only 3 items. It may be someone who decieded they where gonna start autoing on their account and not just some level 3 these "runescape gold" selling websites probably use.
  9. Have you researched this or something? striker do you ever post anything that is not spam? oh course I didnt do research, but nick did :P But since Ive played alot of different mmorpg's you'll come to find that alot of the female characters you see walking around are acually guys. I wasnt however pointing that out, I was saying that girls standing around in varrock saying "looking for hot bf" are most times guys looking for free stuff.
  10. thats halarious, how did he think you wouldnt report that? I hope he gets banned for not using his brain skill.
  11. there is alot of weird things with all the screen shots and everything here, raises alot of eyebrows. And what would really be the big deal if he got on his brothers pk'r to go have a little fun and pk some people? they live in the same house, who is really going to know the difference if you jumped on his account to go kill some people? I think the thing that really raised some flags at jagex is the large trades between you and your brothers accounts, like a one sided trade from you to him for 100k nats. To them they probably think its just you playing and your giving stuff to your other account and having them directly interact with eachother. one thing I dont understand is how you got banned for macroing? what where you doing that would cause them to ban you for that? someone said jagex customer service is worse than aol's and I agree, at least you can call aol, instead of trying to cram your thoughts into a weak little 400character message. I'm still tyring to get through to jagex and i think the way they banned me was totally ridiculous, but customer service will not respond to me what-so-ever, and i have no idea what else i can do. Its hard to give up on years worth of work, and I dont plan on it. but from what I've seen so far, I wouldnt hold your breath. I think they are going absolutely crazy banning people. they seem to be on the ban first and ask questions later tip. one thing I read was that they keep track of the companys that sell runescape gold on the net accounts and ban everyone that trades with them. well isnt this totally backwards? shouldnt they be more concerned that there are websites out there that more than likely have little chinese kids playing runescape all day for pennies so they can sell the gold on the interenet? on topic: all i can say is be persistant and see if you can manage to get through to them, ive done everything i can thing of short of calling them. mainly because finding their phone number is like trying to find your favorite celebs phone number.
  12. this is a good guide, but you missed out on some of the tell tale signs. one major give away is if someone is running, or walking around an area, while the message is popping up over their head. Its pretty hard to type fast and click around on the screen. another sign is if someone accidently types something in before the autotyper goes off, and it will come out with the glow3:wave:ect ect showing up on the screen. and like people have said, while im out selling our buying, ill throw in a different color or different effect to make sure ppl dont htink im auto-typing, all I need is to get my other account banned for something stupid.
  13. hes got that right, the servers on the members side are far from crowded. there must be more than twice the ammount of area for people to spread across on the members server. and compared to wow and other mmo's ive played that are 15 bucks a month, I dont even notice 5 bucks missing from the bank every month.
  14. well normally if someone is trying to drop trade(against the rules) they would already have their other character in position to login the same spot they dropped the stuff so they can get teh stuff right when it pops up, but maybe this guy was dumb, i dont see how he could have died there
  15. nice score there, one wonders how it happened, lol. did you wait around to see if the person that died came back for it?
