Interesting read, it's important to point how Mat K wants us to remember that the commercial aspect of the game is very important in their decision making process. The problem has been in-game long enough for me to wait until their explanation is given and their action plan laid out before giving them props. For the time being, I will still consider that Jagex benefits from botters and gold farmers and that their focus are lead by which community generates more profit.

That Redorok quote is very relevant and I understand Drumgun's point. Today's top players are racing against the end of RS rather than against one another. I have lost a lot of faith in this game in the last months, only top and legit players are making me hang around and keep a slight interest nowadays.

With today's "refer a friend" update, I feel this deserves a bump. With Jagex making sure cheating is easier and easier, should tip.it start giving tips on cheating?

@ Kimberly, no problem! Everyone should enter an argument with an open mind and be ready to change his/her opinion based on facts and perspectives previously unknown. Nice to have two ways discussions instead of the usual "I'm right, you're wrong" sparring I usually see on discussion boards.

I understand your point Kimberly. I just think there are more opportunities for botters to use this system than legit players and that bonus xp, means faster gold in the end.

They don't benefit at all, that's a silly argument. Gold farmers do not care about exp. And if people are botting for exp then why would they pay more than they have to? We're assuming they're already getting away with botting, and 10% is not a significant boost. You are under the impression that botters are all lvl 99 in all skills and wouldn't benefit from bonus xp..hence faster levels and faster gold. This is definitely not a silly argument. When I say they will benefit more, is because gold farmers use many accounts, making them more prone to have to create new accounts and use the refer system.

Anyone also feeling botters and gold farmers will benefit more from this than legit players (I mean what'S left of legit players...)?

What's the point. Takes you 2 seconds to read the players name and their inactive status, and then you go on to the next rank. Hardly any effort. Not to mention the fact that if you just bump them off because they're inactive it makes it seem like their achievement, albeit now they're gone, is no longer something to behold. It doesn't matter if they are active or inactive, they are currently one of the top 15 players and they should stay there until either they decide to come back or they get overtaken. This is also my view on the subject.

Ring World, you need to understand some people enjoy playing for ranks. You may not like it and make it sound derogatory, but this thread is mostly about people competing, hence the comments about devalued play time. I understand Makaveli and A13d's position on effigies even though I'm on the same page as Squisher, effigies will make me max out and I dig it.
