I predict it's gonna be a 3 way race by the end of the summer with Telmomarques, Elias and Suomi. Tezz might be able to join them if he decides to train the fast buyables. Telmomarques should also be able to claim the title of first player to 11 skills at 200M, if he decides to do it with herblore because it would block another effigy combo for him (he has 2 blocked out of 8 at the moment).

Update of the top 15 1. Elias : 2,86B xp (+35M). Enjoying his first full week at rank 1, Elias is destroying cave crawlers with his trusty cannon and gattering effigies. He reached his 12th skill over 100M last week with ranged and he's on his way to get his 9th skill at 200M with attack in a couple weeks. Coming milestones : 100M slayer, 200M attack and 200M construction (9th and 10th) 2. Telmomarques : 2,85B xp (+27M). Back to rank 2 after a couple weeks at the top, Telmo is still slaying and back to hoarding effigies. He has reached his 13th skill over 100M last week with ranged and could tie Allar for most skills over 100M in 5-6 weeks with slayer. Coming milestones : 100M slayer 3. Jdelacroix : 2,69Bxp (+16M). Hous away from reaching 2,7B xp, Jd is still training smithing but has also included hunting in his daily routine. Even though he's doesn't receive the same love as Elias, Telmo and Suomi in this thread, Jdelacroix is one of the most consistent player as well as having been in the top 5 for the last two years. Jagex already receives countless reports from players about botting. They are just unwilling to punish paying accounts.

Ohhh some interesting replies while I was at work. @ Swedishboy I agree with most of your post except for the part 2. Even though Jagex still say that botting is against the rules, there is ample evidence that a major part of the community is already botting a great portion of the game. Making them legal would only change the behavior of currently legit players who are too scared to bot now and risk their accounts. @ Guidesforscape Your analogy is flawed (slightly)... the authorities are not struggling to control it, they are unwilling to punish the "wrongdo'ers".

Not really. We do sometimes send them links to interesting/controversial topics that are posted here and they take a look. If it's of interest to enough people, I might be able to try to get an interview set up. I'd be very interested in an interview with that topic. @ Ring world Exactly 43 threads! The main point is: should we ignore botting? One of the reason why botting is discussed that much is probably because new updates are not up to par with the players' interest. Great updates and new (nice) training methods will divert the attention of players to the state of the game enough to slow down the flow of complaints. Lackluster updates mean people go back to their previous training grounds only to find them filled with bots, hence the complaining.

I wasn't implying that Tip.it thinks it's a minor issue. I said some posters are saying botting is a minor issue. I know why the thread was created, it's like putting a bandaid over a shotgun wound. It's not a solution to the real problem (botting), it's a solution to the problem of people being sick of rants over botting. People are sick of botting rants because there are too many.... there are too many because botting is a widespread problem... Since Tip.it cannot solve the botting problem, they are solving the only problem they can and this leads to situation where no pressure is put on Jagex to solve the problem. By cramming all the botting rants in one sticky, Tip.it is effectively reducing discussion of botting weither they like it or not. Concerning your other points in discussing a change of policy, does Jagex and Tip.it have talks concerning the state of the game? Maybe we need a poll to see who would like a change in policy and who approve or disaprove of botting? . I'm playing devil's advocate here by the way.

For the last several years and more recently with the return of free trade, players breaking rules (RWT, Scamming, Auto typing, Botting...etc) has become a normal sight in RS and most of the actors of the game (Jagex along with their customers) have made it quite clear through their actions (or lack of...) that this situation is acceptable and unworthy of harsh punishment. Over the last months, countless threads about bots were created by exasperated players and lately have been locked on the grounds that an "obscure" sticky in the rants section is quite enough to deal with this "minor" issue has some posters would put it. With this trend in bot-apologists and gold-farming apologists in our community, we find ourselves looking inward and asking ourselves: this is what this game has become, what now? What now indeed! Given the lack of effort to enforce the rules by Jagex. Given the state of mind of the community towards taking short cuts to access the "fun" game. Given the state of mind of TIF's administration concerning bot whinners, here's what I'm aksing the community today: - Should Tip.it start supplying guides to botting, gold-farming and how to sell/buy gold online, provide autotypers for merchant in W1/W2? To bring back some of the arguments for eliminating the rules for those of you who are unaware: - Bots were always there and will always be there (why not make it so everyone gets access to them more easily?) - Players should not feel that their achievements are devalued by what other players are doing (be it botting or RWTing) because this is after all a game and not a chore - A fansite should help players achieve their goals in everyway possible, especially when the game creators don't enforce their outdated rules... Obviously, these changes would mean that Tip.it renounces its special platinum or gold status or whatever Jagex are calling "safe fansites" and this is obviously not an option. Let's say we go hypothetical from now on... - Should Jagex remove their rules? - Should Tip.it be more lenient on rule-breaking?

Back to slayer after a nice XP push in the last weeks, Telmo could become the king in skills at 200M and over 100M. He will reach 100M ranged in the next hours. Coming milestones : 100M ranged 2. Elias : 2,81B xp (+43M). He was at rank 2 when I started writing but temporarly got to rank 1 with a surge in effigies, Elias is hunting effigies after getting 200M herblore, his 8th skill. Coming milestones : 1,9B xp Here's a short summary of the player who left the top 15 last week, Lan: Considered one of the top contenders when he was active in the first half of 2010, Lan was an expert slayer who did most of his XP prior to effigies. He became the first player to achieve double 99s in all skills pre-dungeoneering, meaning he got roughly 26M xp in all skills. Because of my love for slayer, he was my favorite player from 2009-2010.

This is a race I'm definitely keeping an eye on. Drumgun has focused mainly on fletching since saturday/sunday and they could reach 10 skills at 200M on the same day wednesday or thursday. A lot of us had it figured out that Drumgun would easily keep his title a couple months ago, but the fishing he has done lately really made it possible for Telmo to slip through. We'll see how the week goes.
