  1. With regard to the last couple of posts: Excellent! Now that there are several specific solutions to this minor problem in the air, there's one less reason for Jagex to ignore the article. I can comfortably say I'm glad I posted. And no, dear Doctor, you're the first. I was wondering when that would happen <_<. Edit: Yes, sorry, pretty spam-ish post. Maybe I just don't give Jagex enough credit to be able to think on their own.
  2. With regard to the second suggestion: Frankly I think that this would create a very good training ground for f2ps level 51 and up. There's no disputing that the level 28 Hill Giants are taking a pounding already. While these swarming, multicombat, fast-spawning monsters might be made to drop nothing at all, whereas the Hillies drop big bones and sometimes limpwurts, the hourly combat xp might still be impressive enough to sway a number of players to sit in the ess mine and play 'butcher'. This would provide some protection for autos, but not enough to be of concern. The real problem (as I see it) is that Jagex might read that, and think, "A faster way to train a stat on f2p? OH NOES!" Granted, that's a pretty flimsy argument, but I'm of the opinion that after the "Baised Banning" incident, it might only take a little thing like that for Jagex to fly off the handle with some "We have made extremely careful calculations concerning the opportunities for f2p and p2p players to gain experience" rant, and ignore the credibility of the rest of the article, which would be a shame. I'm rather fond of that first solution. As for proposing a fix...well, I'm far better at playing devil's advocate, but perhaps if the monsters had few hp, with abnormally high defense, or were abnormally fast at attacking, training combat in the essence mines would suddenly be an unappealing prospect. Something like killing chickens with a max hit of 14. In any case, an excellent article, and also a pretty good thread. Some good ideas moving around in here. Great stuff.
  3. Hm. The last time I checked, which I admit, was a long time ago, the airs company also wanted you to wear black robes to indicate that you're runecrafting...In any case, if that's the way you want to go, checking out the company thread on the official forums is probably a good idea.
  4. Assuming that the listed prices are accurate, yes... From your sig, I take it you're p2p? I'd recommend you try the blast furnace when you get to 60 smithing...you use 50% less coal, and you can buy the ores right there from NPCs, and for a fair price to boot. Heck, you can even smith there...assuming you have 60+ smithing. Comes in real handy if you're smithing stackables (arrowheads) or alchables (plates). Just a thought.
  5. "slapped" you? aw, now that's just harsh. Anywho, I was just tryin to point out they aren't as worthless as Nar was suggesting. I don't know about these forums, but I know they sell very well on the official forums. Edit: "smacked". You can sure tell it's my night >_>
  6. I can confirm that one, hahaha. granted, there are a fair number of f2p players with tallies lying in the bank...you can usually sit in the varrock east bank and buy up body tallies for 200-500 gp each. As for the tiaras, you can make them yourself if you have the silver and crafting level....otherwise, your best bet is to check the Al Kharid general store, hop worlds, and see if anybody dumped them in bulk. Peak time is obviously your friend for both. I'll leave the math with regard to experience in your capable hands...tip.it has some wonderful calculators. =P Using tallies is nice for getting up to the lv 30-40 mark, but after that it's just too costly to be feasible. Air running isn't particularly fun, but there's a fair span where it's a very good option. The altar is quite close to the bank, and you get the "x2, x3" stuff straightaway. That, and fires don't sell all that much higher than airs =P. You might consider the world 16 airs company if you have little patience, and some cash to invest...last I knew, you had to sign up on the official forums to craft for them, though. After level 55-56, I'm told it's not uncommon to jump on the airs or laws (p2p) companies. I can't speak first hand there, though....I haven't gotten that far. In any case, best of luck! Edit: 2k xp for each level, you say? So I take it you're already around lv 35-37. So much for my "contribution".
  7. Wow. You weren't kidding when you said "pack-rat". Feels like you're banking precious ashes or something. As meol says, consider posting your bank. I'm not rich by any stretch, but I might be tempted to come and "buy" some of your junk for the sake of getting you out of this paralysis. :o
  8. If you can stomach farming your guams/maries, then doing so is a fair option. Alternatively, you could start Zogre flesh-eater and make Relicym's balm...this is also quite a pain, but it's much more reliable than parking at the chaos druids and praying for guams. Other than that...well, buy them or go back to the chaos druids, that's about the best I can suggest. Edit: It'll take about 112 (4 invos) of relicym's balms to get you from lv 10 to lv 22 (stat restore pots, from harralander). Relative to mucking around with guams, that will go "fast", but you won't walk out of it with the fat wad of unids you'd have after getting guams from chaos druids/al kharids. I suppose I should mention that I didn't pick lv 22 for any fancy reason, only that you'll be able to make use of the first four herbs at that point. Anywho, your call.
  9. You might also consider the standard varrock tele runes if you're concerned about getting pked before you get to the altar. You get less inventory space for essence, and you have to walk from varrock center to edgeville, but it's less risk. Just an option. Edit: To clarify, it's not less risk of being pked, it's less risk of losing something valuable if you are pked. Sorry 'bout that.
  10. Methinks he's talking about RunescapeRealm. I've taken a quick look around, nothing substantial....it rather looks like the site is still in it's infancy, to me. In any case, if you're going to come here and try to instigate a flame war or the like, I think you'll find you're not welcome. From the extremely limited information you've made available, these two fellows you're speaking of could very well be the same person.
  11. You realise your pretty much the first person who hasn't asked for dragon lol. By the way, what does a "pmod" [crown] look like :? Well, it looks a little like that ^^ :D General congratulations on the work you've posted thus far, as well. Having no artistic talent myself, I'm most jealous.
  12. Could we maybe get a pair of cornerposts for the fence? The area down in the bottom-left corner looks like it's ready to fall apart  Just a thought...I'd try and do it myself, but I guarantee you it would ruin the image :P
  13. *can't resist, starts singing* =Please don't say "manana" if you don't mean it, I have heard those words for so very long...don't try to describe the ocean if you've never seen it, don't ever forget that you just may wind up being wrong= Kay, now I officially feel like a relic  On a side note, those of you who can speak some functional spanish should really invest in a plane ticket to Alberta, Canada. Honestly, the ladies here go wild over that stuff. So much so that I actually bought some spanish grammar, verb and vocabulary books. Unfortunately, I'm still trying to build an authentic accent . Speaking exotic languages doesn't count for much if you sound like a barbarian.
  14. Canuck here, living in Edmonton at the moment. Not a particularly big mall go-er though, so I've only been there once. See, my grad date wanted to go dress shopping with her family, and "naturally" I was invited to come along (and boost her ego...oops, did I say that aloud?)....*makes wrist slitting motion* I had the pleasure of touring around the place for 3+ hours, gracing 10+ dress stores with my (unfortunate) presence, and I don't think I stood in the same place twice. Well, aside from some pacing within the latter 4 stores...Perhaps the saddest part of the experience is that she looked best (imo, of course) in the first thing she tried on, but she eventually bought some 2-piece "custom bridesmaid" outfit because she was getting bored . Oh, finding stores isn't difficult...if you want an electronics store, you'll find one. If you want a candy shop, you'll find one. If you want a fast food joint, you'll find one. The only things that would be hard to find are the ice rink, waterpark, etc. Things that only occur once throughout the mall. Well, that and your car, afterwards...*58 mall entrances + world's largest parking lot = omg..*
