If god doesn't exist s\he\it cannot hate. :) Mmmkay, Basic premise of Christianity: { Correct me if i'm wrong } I) 1) God created the Universe, Humanity, etc 2) God is Perfect. 3) God is Omnipotent ( All knowing ), Ominibenevolent ( All loving ) and all powerful. 4) God created us in his\her\its image. - We all have the capacity to hate. - Ergo God is capable of hate { See 4 } If hate is imperfect, then God is imperfect? If God designed us to be capable of hate, thus allowing us to hurt each other and 'sin', he is not Omnibenevolent? If God is All knowing and All powerful, but does not stop us from sinning, thus condeming us to hell etc, isn't he guilty of Hate or at the very least Apathy? If God is capable of hate or apathy, why not hypocrisy? ' If a man smotes you upon the cheek, turn to him the other. (may be a misquote) ' Yet God condemns us all to Hell if we Sin? Also, If a man commits good acts yet is not allowed into Heaven because of his lack of belief in God, is God not demonstrating a kind of hate, or at least enourmous vanity? II) Premise: God is Perfect. 1) Can a perfect being create something that is imperfect? - It can if it wants to? Is this not illogical? If a perfect being creates an imperfect thing, isn't it guilty of imperfection? If you argue that the Universe is Perfect, then you must acknowledge that Hate aswell as Love are perfect. Thus, If God were 'Perfect' he would possess Hate.

Well, as creator of this topic. (No pun intended :lol: ) I do not believe Religion should be taught in schools. Although, in a free, democratic society, people should be allowed to wroship as they choose, Religion has no place in Educational institutes or Governments. By teaching Religion in schools we are propagating something that is *probably* false and most possibly harmful. Hence the idea that Religion\Creationilism is not a science. Science relies on fact and empirical evidence to reach probable conclusions, where as Relgion appears to be specualtion, unfounded on fact. Im happy to note that most posters so far appear to be agnostic\atheist. *Puts away Halogen lamp and Brainwashing 101* Please continue posting :

Does religion have a place in the worlds schools and educational institutes? Is Intellegent Design\Creationalism a verifiable science? Does Religion has a place in society at all? Arguments for\against Religion in schools :-k No flaming ;p Or you'll all burn in H*ll :P
