  1. Helm of Neitiznot is a great all-around helm. Unless you are doing something completely safe (like Castle Wars or Duel Arena), I would not even think about risking 3rd Age Helm for the little but if defensive boost it gives you.

  2. When the Dark Bows were first released, they were actually a semi-common drop. Unfortunately, Jagex soon (probably within hours of the release) turned it into a very rare drop. Not sure if Jagex wanted to quickly populate the market with them, or if they just messed up orginally and they were supposed to be a very rare drop all along. The average now seems to be about 20 hours of killing Dark Beasts to get a Bow, burning through Prayer Pots the whole time. The Dark Beasts were packed the first few days, but know they are almost completely empty.

Unfortunately it is turning into a war. High level Slayers want to be compensated for their supplies and effort, while some merchants are trying to manipulate the price by telling everyone that they are still common drops and the Slayers are just being greedy.

It's a nice sense of accomplishment to get a Bow as a drop, but you are not going to get rich by killing Dark Beasts.

Add me if you want more details. My Chat is always on.

  3. Although this sounds like a good idea, I think they would be too hard to kill. I'm almost maxed out in my combat stats and I don't like killing Steel Dragons because they are so hard to hit. If their defense level increased the way it does between the Bronze, Iron and Steel Dragons, it would take forever to kill these new dragons. At least the other high level monsters have weaknesses you can exploit to kill them. Dagonnoth Kings are each weak to a certain type of combat. Metal Dragons are not. The KQ is known for her defense, but almost everyone uses Veracs on her. You can't use Veracs on Metal Dragons because of the Anti-Fire Shield requirement.

  4. What is the best Armour in RuneScape, so what is the best glove, boot, cape, ring, necklace, platebody, plateleg, full helm, kite and weapon for a melee?

Best Gloves are Barrows Gloves from RFD.

    Best Cape is Fire Cape.

    Best Boots are Rune Boots.

    Best Necklace is Fury.

Best Weapon is Abby Whip. (Unless you are using a Barrows set of course)

The rest depend on what you are fighting or personal preference.

Best Rings are: Ring of Life, Ring of Wealth, Beserker Ring, and Warrior Ring.

Barrows sets are great defense, but they are expensive to repair and I only use them if I need the set effect.

Third Age has nice stats but are ridiculously high priced.

Personally, I use Granite Body, Dragon Legs and Rune Defender whenever I melee.

My Helm is either Balck Mask for Slayer or Neitznot Helm for everything else.

  5. As a 90 Slayer who has been camping there since Monday, I've seen a few people using Verac, but I don't feel it's necessary. Dark Beast's Defense level isn't so insane that you can't break through it. Whip and Rune Defender with Pros armor works just as well or better in my opinion. And since killing Dark Beasts is expensive, adding Veracs just ups the costs since their other drops are horrible for a level 182 monster.

  6. What I have found that works best is to keep an open mind about each type of monster and try to find something positive about them. If you can do this, then you will actually be happy when you get that assignment instead of dreading it and automatically skipping it. It would be nice if we could all get our favorite monsters assigned everytime all the way to 99 Slayer, but that is not going to happen. It's entirely random and it's up to you to make the best of it.

  7. Im not sure if should melee the melee brothers though.. My friend said magic and range is perfect :-k

Sorry about all these stupid questions.. its just im a barrows N00b

You do NOT want to try to melee the melee brothers. Just mage them, their mage defense is so low that you can mage them while wearing melee armor. You can kill Karil with any of the three attack types, whatever works best for you. Ahrim should be ranged or meleed. As for prayer, ALWAYS start on Dharok and use prayer the entire time. You should go to Karil next and pray on him as well. For the other 4, you can pray or eat, whatever works best for you.

As for camping there, I would not advise doing that yet. Work on finding an effective routine to do one run at a time and then when you get familiar and comfortable with barrows, you can start looking into doing more than one run per trip.

For more detailed information, just go to the Archive of Wisdom. There are several Barrows guides there.

  8. When making oak planks you should try the balloon ride from cw to varrock. When wearing a spotted cape and boots of lightness i think i was able to take 23 oak logs to the sawmill each trip. With penance gloves and a spottier cape that will no doubt increase. You will use a lot of dualling rings but it is the fastest way to get oak planks without buying them.

There are 3 Oak trees at the Saw Mill. If you want to work on your Woodcutting as well, use the balloon method, but chop the Oak trees at the mill. And wear a Rabbits Foot amulet. Oaks seem to be fairly decent birds nest droppers. Then you can use the seeds to help raise your Farming or sell them to help offset your plank costs.

  9. I always thought that this was something Jagex could do if they felt they wanted to increase Slayer's popularity. Obviously limiting drops to ONLY Slayer is too extreme, but I always felt that a Ring of Wealth type effect (that stacks with a Ring of Wealth) during Slayer tasks would be nice.

  10. I like to focus on what I do with each Herb:

Guam Leaf - The only herb I don't collect

Marrentill - I use these with my Gilded Altar

Tarromin - I sell these easily

Harralander - I sell these easily

    Rannar Weed - Prayer

    Toadflax- Sara Brew

Irit Leaf - Super Attack and Super Anti-poison

    Avantoe - Super Energy

    Kwuarm - Super Strength

    Snapdragon - Super Restore

    Cadantine - Super Defense

    Lantadyme - Magic and Anti-Fire

    Dwarf Weed - Ranging

Torstol - Zamorak (no market, but it is the only use for Torstol)

I then either sell or use the potions that I make.
