  1. You seem to have a Defender mind-set on these, but they are nothing like that. You can buy the gloves from the chest in Lumby basement and you can buy as many pair as you want, up to the level that you have unlocked thru doing RFD sub-quests.

  2. Unfortunately there is no great place to kill these guys. Since you want to range them, Ogre Enclave is probably for you, but you will not get your arrows back and you need telegrabs for the drops. Brimhaven is the best non-wild spot to melee, but the wild dogs are a major pain.

  3. If you are just killing one bronze dragon, don't worry about the anti-fire potion. Just use Melee Protect Prayer and an Anti-drag shield. The most the breath will hit you for is 5. Just take some food with you and tele out after the kill.

  4. I'm 99% sure not one person on this thread could kill them anyway.

You lose. It's kind of suprising that they updated the level 90 Slayer Monster and not the 85, especially when they had an entire Demon-themed update. Personally I hope they don't update them as updates bring more people out to see and more people = lower whip prices.

  5. Right now, we control the prices, not Jagex. If items were very easy to sell, like you are suggesting, everyone will start selling and the markets will become flooded. When this happens, everyone will start asking for a lower price just so that they can sell their stuff. And the limiting factor on the prices will be the High Alch value. So Jagex will be setting the prices. And everyone will be complaining for Jagex to change the High Alch value on every commonly sold item.

So in theory it sounds like a good idea, but I just don't see it working.

  6. I'm not sure why Whip prices have been falling. I can assure that it is NOT because us 90+ slayers are moving on to Dark Beasts. Dark Beasts are completely deserted. And Abby Demons are still pretty crowded and I have actually been getting more whips here recently. Maybe some of the 85+ Slayers have moved on to Visage and/or Dragon Full hunting, but I don't see the price going up for long. Abby Demons are boring, but they are so cheap to kill that the 85+ Slayers will come rushing back if the whip price continues to rise.

  7. Fire Giants are a great training monster. I always use the ones under the Waterfall. Accumulator works great at retrieving your knives, unless you are ranging over the table in the big room. "Barrow" Gloves from RFD are the best handwear to use, otherwise go with Black Vambs. Ranger Set has nice stats, but its very expensive and you will lose it if you die. Fremmy Ranger helm and Snakeskin boots are great, inexpensive alternatives. Black Body and Chaps are your cheapest and best alternative.

  8. I agree that we should wait. The riots can't last forever. It seems like most of the people that are choosing worlds are just throwing them out there at random. Ease of logging into the homeworld should not be the only criteria for choosing a new world. Personally, I would not go to an official world if it was a "dead" world because most of the skills that I work on are tied to spawns, and spawns are slowest on "dead" worlds.

If we are serious about moving the homeworld, some actual thought needs to go into it, not just a knee-jerk reaction like this because some morons decided to temporarily use 99 as their protesting world.

  9. People buy rares when there is nothing else for them to spend their money on. When new, expensive items like Visages and Dragon Full Helms come out, rares go down (especially the lower end rares). Give it time, they will go back up.

  10. Basically smelting is slower and less XP, while the smithing itself is faster and more XP. So in general if you want to make money: buy ores and smelt, and if you don't mind losing money: buy bars and smith. There are a few exceptions though. As someone said, Iron Knives are fast XP without losing money. For the higher level ores, about the only thing that you can smith and not lose money on right now are bolts.

  11. Jagex didn't make any rules on this because everyone has different opinions on what is acceptable. And even our own opinions can change over time. When I was a lower level, I would go to the Family Crest dungeon and happily kill Hellhounds with other people. As I got higher leveled, this became too slow and I would take over both spawns, even if it meant "stealing" other people's monsters. Now I find that the two spawns are too slow, so I always go to Taverly. How am I supposed to get other people to think the way I do when my own opinions change?

Best thing to do is to remember that this is a multi-player game and that the other person is most likely NOT going to think the way that you do. Consult the Bestiary and find out where the monsters that you want to kill are located. If you want a popular monster to yourself, don't just go to the easiest spot and then complain because it is crowded. Jagex gives you options, take advantage of them.
