  1. Because all requirements should make comp cape much more difficult to obtain, rather than just slightly more difficult? I think it's fine that it doesn't take a massive amount of time to meet this single requirement. *shrug*

I really want to get on and start getting double xp for my daily Robin ectoing, as Kimberly described. Of course, since I can't log in, I'm just sitting here and bouncing up and down. >.<

  2. Probably going to use mine on QBD, but I'll seriously attempt to kill her for reals beforehand.

I kinda think they shouldn't allow them to be used on quest bosses, and for non-quest bosses allow them only if you've killed them at least once without the dart beforehand... but I can see why they didn't do that. More fun for everyone if they don't put such limits on em. I'll just look down my nose at those folks, heh.

  3. I hope jagex is smart and new skills will not allow any bonus xp until at least one player has reached 99. (That way the race to 99 stays completely "fair")

Or at least, no buy-able bonus xp. Troll invasion, penguins, effigies, etc. are still mildly fair in that everyone has equal access to them (assuming it's another members skill).

  4. Yeah, once you literally cannot gain any more XP, everything becomes XP waste, because you are no longer gaining xp.

You are right that it would take less total time to get 200m and trimmed comp cape if you got the cape first, but if your highest priority is getting 200m all as soon as possible, then taking time off to do something else first would be silly. Not to mention that the time he'll be "wasting" to get the cape afterward is miniscule compared to the time he's spent on 200m all.

tl;dr if you want to be more efficient then SUOMI, do it yourself

Edit: Yeah, he probably should stockpile those peng points, and also wait to do troll invasion that month till he can use it on the new skill (and JoT, and some effigies, etc.). But because it takes a while before you can use lamps and such on new skills, it won't help that much.

  5. Would this have been legal? Certainly a grey area, morally unsound and against Jagex rules, but I would probably abuse this were it clean. $15k per hour is really attractive to me.

Regardless, Jagex really screwed up here. Checking how money pouch behaves when full is one of the things that should have been tested more thoroughly.

Well, there's always the technicality that they're committing fraud by selling something that doesn't belong to them (as technically everything in the game belongs to Jagex, not the players). Other than that... I dunno. But I do think that they'll get suckerpunched on tax evasion if they aren't very, very careful.

  6. Hmm

Why would you even pay for XP instead of gaining it with fun?

    Grinding 200ms is fun?

    Grinding spin-claiming is fun?

Yes, we have that 10x button now, but it'll still take a decent bit of time to claim the $200 in spins per day, and you'll have to do it for a long time to actually hit 200m in anything.

  7. Those two items: first is a Big Swordfish, second is the potion to turn a cat purple (have yet to use it on the cat I'm keeping, that's something to do to free up a space).

Tabs: One is general stuff I use often, or that I used for something and have yet to put back into the proper place. Two is combat stuff that I don't use often; three is misc. stuff I don't use often but don't want to throw away (lots of quest stuff here), four is primarily non-combat clothing and unconventional jewelry (cramulet), five is summoning, six was originally magic & rc but gained other misc. teleports and other stuff I use on daily & farm runs (I should clean it out), seven is jewelry, eight potions and farming stuff, nine cooking and a bit of hunter stuff.

I should indeed drop the glassblowers and nets and DAA; I was holding onto them to see how the toolbelt would work in practice, to make sure I wouldn't still need them.

I'll sell the sticks (didn't know you could!) but keep the orbs, as I use those. Eggs should be in summoning, yep, cause I have one of each by now. I like keeping a few rune picks/axes for the odd time I run into the wildy to use em and don't want to risk the dragon.

Thanks for the critique! And you're welcome to borrow the claws whenever you like if I'm not using them; just catch me when I'm on. ;)

List of stuff for me to do:

Use that darn purple cat potion.

Put all my fishing bait into my tacklebox; sell whatever doesn't fit (not like Ima use it anyway).

Sell glassblowing pipes, fishing nets, cake tins, misc. pouches I'll never use, slayer stuff in tab 3, toy horsey that I only use to troll gamblers, trading sticks

Move the Hati stuff to poh where it belongs, also mining outfit

Make all of the stupid crossbow hidey-holes to get rid of that bronze one that just looks at me as asks why I don't love it

Ditch the DAA (it is reclaimable, right?)

  8. Rate + give any advice on cleaning that you'd like to share.

I'll be adding one with pricing info once I finish researching all of this junk, lol.

Edit: I max my MTK coffers whenever I visit (once or twice a month, roughly), and I have 158k in my moneypouch right now. Also all my barrows are at full charge or very close, and the gano is at like 20%. and my POH Costume Room has almost everything that can be put into it, apart from TT items and achievement capes. And I have a full toolbelt.

Edit2: Here's the pic including prices; total value is 100.955mil.

Space before cleaning: 84/88 and 467/468

Space after cleaning: 78/88 and 448/468

  9. I'm honestly more impressed by the previous holder of that record, who won 6 medals each in 3 consecutive olympics in gymnastics. Guess how many events there are in women's artistic gymnastics in which to win medals? Six (individual all-around, team all-around, vault, floor, beam, bars). She medalled in everything for three Games in a row.

But yeah, still, props to Phelps to be sure.

I've been very happily fanboying over gymnastics the entire time thus far. Can't wait to see Raisman competing in the all-around today - I was sorely hoping she'd make it in. Also looking forward to Maroney in the vault finals, just because she's such a beast there.

  10. I've been playing for about 8 years, and I don't plan on permanently stopping anytime soon. My activity will wax and wane as my life circumstances vary, but I'll always be coming back so long as Runescape is here to have me.

    Also:

The "poll" shows nothing. Only the people who want to quit spend their time searching for and watching such videos.

    ^this

  11. Imbuing would be nice. They could add their own twist to it so you could imbue potions to magically enhance them or imbue gears similar to how rings are.

On another note crafting does need some attention... It's been an abomination to see so many other MMOs have craft able magic gear up the butt yet we can't craft mystic or have much of any type of great cloth gear or accessory to craft. I am prepared to see people call me out on it, but even then I feel crafting should be on par with smithing and ideal it is not.

I mostly agree with that thought on crafting... though I must also say that there is Splitbark for mage armor, and that might prove to be half-decent after EoC. And while the focus should be different, I agree that it should be roughly equal to smithing - but smithing is more combat focused than crafting (currently and ideally).

  12. Last I checked, it's more productive to get a job and buy spins instead of skilling.

It'd take a very high-paying job to afford max spins per day (on top of living expenses, of course), though yeah, the 10x spin button does make it much more efficient than it used to be.

  13. I actually enjoy Head to Head, even with the not-so-great gameplay. (At least show us what the different statuses do, instead of just hoping whatever cards we have happen to explain them! And be more specific with your prayer/focus/injury ignoring negative effects/next X cards, because they don't actually work that way.)

I'd love to see them open up Resource Race to multiple people at once, so it's more of a race and less of a "hmm, what do I want xp in now...". It'd make an awesome event for the Clan Cup! (Also I'm considering trying to powertrain up to 80 farming to place better on those highscores.)

Regardless, I like the 30k agil xp and 5k farm xp per day quite a bit; it's nice. And WOO for letting us store the costume pieces individually!

That game is called... stealing creation?

Yeah, and I love playing it. :P But there are still significant differences between the two.

  14. I'd love to see them take off the xp lamps and just have the pendants (or at least take off the large/huge lamps in exchange for the pendants, and leave the small/meds since they don't offer too terribly much XP anyway).

Also, I'd love to have the pendants not lose their decoration when they lose their charge, cause some of em look pretty darn awesome. (Also I'd love to have them storable in the costume room of my POH, though I suppose that'd make completionists butthurt.)

Oh and yeah, the items they're offering for being a member through August & September are pretty clearly the main replacement for BXPW, lol (though I again really hope it's gonna be another thing like the Mad May necklace rather than just a lamp). These pendants are probably a small part of that replacement as well, along with the G Games daily xp (since Agility is one of the more popular uses of bonus experience in general, I don't think the decision to offer 30k agil XP per day was just a coincidence).

  16. Based on Soloman's Store prices I'd presume

Not sure how the conversation got into which currency should be used. The original question I thought asked about how Jagex came about with a real world dollar amount for their items being offered in game. Whether it's 45 USD, 35 Euros, or 3600 JPY, for some reason Jagex is now attaching real world value to their in game items. What is their yard stick (metric?) for gauging this?

I'd presume based on how they priced Solomon's Store items

Which may imply that these seasonal limited-edition items may eventually go for sale at Solomon's store, which would honestly be a nice way for latecomers to get their hands on em if they want em bad enough. (Not the holiday stuff like scythes, more like the monkey SoF items and maybe the upcoming beta outfit).

  17. Really enjoying the new login theme

    http://www.youtubere...h?v=W46BdzrqQ5U

It reminds me a LOT of Soul Calibur. Which is a great, great thing. Now they just need to add it to the music player so I can listen to it more :P

Okay, I'm gonna have to unmute my login/lobby screens if that's what they have playing, because that is awesome. +3 to whoever's doing music at JagexHQ.

It's not on the actual login/lobby screen-- you hear it when you log into a world and the 200m Event notification comes up. Sadly once you do the event theres no other way to listen to it, since the popup disappears :(

...damn. Well then Jagex, put that stuff in-game!
