Go to the Gnome Stronghold and buy some Gnome Spices from one of the Food Shops. They'll work. Also I think Spices can be bought from the RFD chest.

Getting a good drop from a random event you fight, or any drop, is an uncommon event. You are just unlucky.

No the in-game crest banners Anyways, people make those banners on their own, and then have the URL for their post linked to the banner by using Photshop or Photodraw Programs. You could try requesting one made in the Art Bazaar Forums.

My first day playing, a level 40 helped me begin my way when I came fresh off Tutorial Island. He took me to Al Kharid and told me to buy a Bronze Scimitar, and then told me to kill some Men. Then he gave me an Iron Platebody and Studded Chaps. He had to go then and I have never seen him since, but he's the one who did help me start me off.
