hmm , I honestley hadn't looked at the prices here in England. But yeah, over in america, it is ten dollars more expensive on PC, and in Australia it costs 90 US dollars.

Say what you will about the console community, but remember that they have the spending power. Activision would probably got the same amount of money if they cut out the PC version entirely, focused more on the console versions and increased the price another £5. I meant that you should be grateful you got at least an equal version when they could have released a butchered port, a la Modern Warfare Reflex for the Wii. If you arent going to put any effort into doing something, then you shouldnt do it at all. also, the PC version costs $10 more than the console version, thats just a fact. You are paying more, and getting less (the same, if you want to call it that.)

there is a mod for horseback fighting. In the next ES I really hope they make it so that you cant mod the game at all. :wink:

The car, fuel analogy is a bad one. It is more like; If I buy a Ferrari and pay a suitably large amount of money for it, I expect it to have been built, and to be maintained by ferrari engineers, not some guy who has a Certificate for "auto maintainence" from the local community college. It is not an arguement of whether or not it will be an inferior PC game. They have simply ported over the xbox version, and for the money they are asking, that is simply not acceptable. Yes, it is almost entirely the fault of activision, bobby kotick, and market trends in general, but that doesnt change the fact that everything they have done, whether or not it is the best decision business wise, is completely and utterly selling out, leaving behind a loyal fanbase for a far more fickle one. In no way should be grateful for this. I am not forcing my decision on anybody. This is a topic for the discussion of modern warfare 2. I posted an article pertaining to the topic at hand, and voiced my opinion of it. If this happens to show the game in a negative light, then so be it.

ok valeyard, I know its hard to concentrate with so much infinity ward [bleep] in your mouth, but let me just break this down for you. Field of view of 65 degrees. A human being has a complete field of vision of 140 degrees, of that, about 90 of it is actually in focus. 65, well basically, walk around with a pair of horse blinkers on. Capping it so low (well capping it at all, but console players just dont get the idea of customisation, so we'll skip that) is utterly stupid, especially considering this is supposed to be the most visceral and realistic portrayal of war in a game ever, unless we're in some kind of equine combat. Secondly, the fact that a developer of the game, not a community manager, not a PR guy, touted "mouse support" "chat" and "graphics settings" as FEATURES just shows how little this game has going for it on the PC now. Mouse support, you know that thing you use in every other goddam program for the PC, that thing that you cant even use your PC without. Yeah, thats a goddam FEATURE now. Graphics settings. Oh man, how I wish we'd had those in every game released since about 1989... oh wait. And chat... well, I guess its not like every multiplayer game on the PC, and most on consoles have had that for well over a decade is it? It isnt even about the game. Its the fact that they can get away with being so patronisingly stupid, because of people like you, who either i) dont care because it doesnt affect them, or ii) are even more moronic than the developers themselves.

In NA demos are still a key part of any team, but the focus is more on the pocket soldier due to powerhouses like reptile and jaeger. In EU from what I know, the demos get a lot more heals from the medic than in NA and teams strats tend to be built around them. Demo is harder is also harder in 6v6 due to how much better the scouts are than in pubs. tru dat. The difference between a pub scout and a properly played scout is just staggering.

I completely agree. On both counts. Demos do make or break a team, and yes yes YES they should keep the new mechanics. I dont quite know how they would "normalize" the ghost scaring people thing, but I LOVE the pumpkin explosions, and it wouldnt be hard to just substitute in a stick of dynamite, or the old classic explosive barrel.

to be honest, I quite like the harry potter games (the first couple anyway). The graphics werent awful for when it came out, and the gameplay was pretty excellent. At the time they were awesome, yes. Now compared to the newest games out there they stink, but there's still something great about the blocky graphics. :lol: (also, using the superjump code in the first one is epic fun :D) what I found quite excellent about the early harry potter games, and what I've very rarely seen since, is the fact that on different platforms, the games were completely different genres. I loved the platforming on the PC, but on the game boy, Harry potter 1, the turn based RPG was absolutely freaking brilliant.

if you have to ask what the difference between a pub and a scrim is, you've never been in a scrim, every game you have every played has been a pub, dont worry about the difference.

What exactly is a pub? Or a scrim? pub - server which anybody can join at any time. scrim - private match between premade 2 teams (usually 6v6 in TF2)

I'm probably going to get a lot of hate for it but I really dislike Misfile. Half and Half is possible but you have to be good at it. Really it's just all about timing, you can't really mix them more as you have some seriousness, some comedy, some seriousness, ect. Plenty of Anime (that were Manga before it) have a serious and a funny side to them. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya are probably two good examples of how to do it right, and Lagann does it all in a very ridiculous universe. I've never read the manga of them though so I'm not sure how they handle that. hate to say it, but for once, TTGL and TMoHS are bad examples. Gurren Lagann doesnt have a manga, it was an original work, and Haruhi was a novel before it was a show, then the manga came after both of them, and it isnt very good. It depends. Does your laptop have an easy access panel? If it does, then it is relatively simple. If not, you'll have to take the whole laptop apart (and is therefore probably safer under the hands of a trained technician. Threres no access panel on the bottom, but I have no idea how much it would cost to get somebody to fit a new drive. I know for a fact they'd be robbing me blind : / also are laptop hard drives noticably more expensive? Or are they exactly the same? I honeslty have no idea about laptops at all.

The primary hard drive in my laptop is starting to fail, I can see it completely conking out in the next couple of weeks. Obviously I'm backing everything onto an external at the moment, but I just want to know, how easy is it to fit a replacement for the hard drive in a laptop? I'd have no problem doing it myself for a desktop, but I've never opened up the back of a laptop so I'm kinda wary about DIY fixing this.

you're playing MW2 on xbox? In that case, it was gonna be garbage even before last week's announcements. And if you're switching over from xbox to PC... I guess you wont miss what you never had, but for the rest of us, its like moving from a nice 4 bedroom house to a damp box under an overpass.

very intensive gaming, video and image editing / rendering / encoding / whatever, running multiple processes at once ect...

enjoy your lag, host advantage, luck based gameplay and rampant cheating.

but you know they wont. If people get kicked -> they get annoyed, -> they stop playing -> they dont pay for DLC. Bads DO ruin the game. If you cant see why, you are clearly one of them. Not to mention, it will hilariously easy to hack this new system. VAC is probably even worse than punkbuster for catching cheats, and p2p hosted games will basically enable the host to do whatever the [bleep] they want with enough technical know how.
