  1. Thank you for wasting both your own and my time with that pointless post. yes this topic is ancient, but as long as people respond to it. I will reply.
  2. World 58 is now the RS official world for using the blast furnace, so if you're ever short that should be the best place to look to for a helping hand. There are still lots of good ideas and suggestions for strategy within this thread so if you're commenting for the first time, make sure you read the whole thing. Maybe one of the ideas already posted will inspire you to improve upon that idea and you can really add to the thread. haha, gotta go, I'm at work.
  3. Lol, go for it Bro! I'd help out but I'm doing a lot of fletching and alching myself.
  4. Clan name: Ancients Unleashed Clan website: http://www.z4.invisionfree.com/Ancients_Unleashed Clan leaders: Scoobypatch F2p clan cape color: Not Decided P2p clan cape color: Not Decided Number of Members: 4 ATM Average Combat level: 92.29 Recent Events Record: PKing Feel free to add anymore information you want to about your clan here: This is primarily a PKing group, usually there is someone ready to go pking at any time, other than that we hone our skills, I'm working on barraging without pots lol.
  5. That's very true, but you need to make sure you stock the furnace with coal first, then make bank runs for the addy ores. You cannot unnote Addy ore at the furnace, you can unnote mith ores. Smithing Mith and steel I find best, you may find price for mith ores a little much once you're in there and it's not fully stocked.
  6. Yeah, if you're doin it yourself, that means you gotta fix any repairs, run the belt to load your ores in the furnace, stoke the fire, and pump the furnace, and also try not to burn yourself. With a team, there's someone to ride the belt, watch the heat, stoke the fire, pump the furnace, and make repairs, things work a lot quicker with a group, and since it only uses half the coal usually needed, it's fast xp and great cash.
  7. The Blast Furnace will win you over. Especially when making knives, darts, or arrow heads, they just stack away and you keep on hittin up the furnace with iron/steel/ or mith whatever you chose. When you run low on cash, simply run off and sell all the goodies you made, I personally would go for arrows, steel probably. I have a good fletch and usually make my own arrows, but occasionally (like yesterday) I buy in bulk to save time, 10k steel at a time might be considered bulk ;) Hope you enjoy the Blast Furnace
  8. Oh please, the guy was training, and gets attacked, he wins and makes a decent profit. I'm glad he posted here. Why must certain people always chose to flame instead of just saying, "gratz man, and nice stats!!". And by the way, GRATZ MAN, lol, AND NICE STATS!
  9. Well, it's april, and I admit I wasn't in the furnace very much personally. I've found my place in the world of pking and barrowing and am making millions from it. Transfer the gp to skill and I've been lvling my character a lot. Anyhow, I hope the smelting/smithing is going good! I probably won't really get back into mining and smithing again until I'm F2P. But then I aspire to reach lvl 85 Mining, and maybe 85 range (almost 80 now). The blast furnace is still great though, just not for me right now. I Just want everyone to work together on it as that makes it more efficient, thus giving you all more cash and experience in the end. So, Go to the world, and make it the official Blast Furnace World for an awesome time of smithing and smelting with other peeps.
  10. Awesome response. I'll be a member again soon and am planning on spending some time in the furnace myself, I'll keep your guys names in mind!! No reason why we all can't share a furnace, but let me remind you and ask that if someone is unnoting their ores, please don't take advantage of that, bring your own.
  11. Bumpin it, cause I think this idea is solid and I want people to team at the furnace!
  12. Yeah, I have thought about all the complications with rune-bay, I honestly don't see that one happening, however, I'm still with the idea of the 2 columns, one for buying, one for selling. I do still think it is a very feasable thing to do, not overly difficult, but with a huge difference for the market.
  13. High wildy, one of three locations, the chaos alter west of the rune rocks, the greater deamons area, or the runerocks themselves.. I'm not saying I'm the best PKer, even if I do lose more then I get back from killing, I just enjoy pking.
  14. Thank you for the positive feed back. Another thought (I'll try not to get too carried away) was something I heard referred to as the exchange. That players could post their wares but have an added pricetag, and if there happend to be two items that lined up for a perfect deal, that it would be automatic. The Downside is that if a player had a rare, he could add that to the tag and probably use the exchange for account trading, this system would certainly need more thought then what I've heard on it already. I was thinking of something similar (in my mind I was calling it RuneBay) and I know for a fact that players would pay a fee (real life money, maybe 2-5 bucks) to have a permanent account on something like that. Where rs items could be transferred electronically, imagine the potential! (Obvious downside: players would not be playing RS and would instead be sitting in RuneBay). In the end, I guess there is no real easy solution, Jagex is doing a good job. Everyone is gonna wanna wish there was something to make it just a bit easier... but hey, that's life. Happy RSing.
  15. In the market forums, it would be more convenient on the server load and on the forum users I think if there were two columns, one side for selling, and the other for buying(or even different links altogether) this way people not interested in buying don't have to scan past all the "selling, selling selling", and those not interested in selling don't need to look through all the "buy buy buy". I know this may be difficult since this is a common setup that I have seen used on several different forum sites. But I do think if it could be changed, there would be a multitude of very happy buy/sellers. Myself included! Open to comments, both for and against this idea.
  16. Yeah, soloing isn't the most fun I have to admit! Although I have soloed on many an occasion and still done some serious leveling, there's nothing quite so fast as a three or 4 man team working together to maximize how fast we get cash and XP. I'm going to be a member in january and I plan on spending a fair bit of my time in the Blast Furnace, I've already been a member so I have the necessary quests done. Also, I'm very much into the runecrafting scene, so I will be supplying my own nats, and maybe even some more for fellow furrnace workers. I will be selling them at whatever is the forum accepted cost, that way I can also buy back from forum so I don't have too much time spent rcing when I could be smithing, which is where we all know the money is really at! Be sure to read my earlier posts about noting of ores etc if you're not all that experienced with the Furnace. This Thread has been alive for some time now, and I plan on making this the official world for teaming in the blast furnace. Please be considerate and if someone is unnoting ores, don't buy up theres, bring your own!
  17. Keeping it alive, I've been f2p for months now and I'm just glad to look back and see this thread still kicking! It's beautiful! I'm planning on renewing my membership in January and will most definately be spending some time in the furnace, as well as working on my agility which has been an invaluable asset to my f2p life. I'll be bringing all my own ores and money to unnote them, the more guys we have, the fewer tools we'll all need to carry, and the faster we'll all get things done. Don't forget that what money we lose in unnoting we gain back because we only use half the usual amount of coal, and we will gain more then just smith xp, we'll get agility, fire making, and crafting xp the whole way through. Hope to see some team action in the future. Happy runescaping all! Scoob.
  18. I've done it all from smithing from scratch and selling to different stored to keep my sale price fairly decent... to buying willow logs by the thousands in gen store and selling them to fletchers for double price. Mining gold in the crafters guild and selling the ores and or bars. I'm still selling air runes from time to time, but most of my money now comes from high-alching and what I pick up while training, I try to fish my own food so my rsing cost is usually low until I gotta go by more deaths. Most noobish memory... hoping I would survive the trip from Lumby to Fally.
  19. Word of advice, if your planning on actually smithing while at the furnace in a group, bring noted coal and cash to unnote it. For those of you who who are very cash conscience, you could stock your furnace with coal already before coming to the group by going around to other worlds and buying the ore cheap and putting them into the furnace so you already have 220 or 224 coal in the furnace ready for use. No fighting or waiting for the first few loads at least then! In the case if smelting steel, that's 11 loads of 20 steel bars worth of coal! Don't let the whole unnoting of ores dismay you, with the furnace using half the usual amount of coal, it more then makes up for it!! Especially if you high alching steel pl8s. I make a lot of money here in the blast furnace, and if u need nats, I may be able to supply those as well!(RC lvl 61 as of December 5th/06) I'll say to use world 129 for now, I'm there now and had 2 others helping out already. Feel Free to msg me during the game(having to do with this thread), my Chat is almost always open!
  20. Awesome Response Guys, Lets make it a moderately populated world but not so full that people have a hard time getting in shall we? And secondly, which worlds are clostest to ya'll? I use the canadian worlds usually.. I havn't been on this week cause I've had major company, and multiple all-nighters with Halo-2. So I can't even remember the numbers of members worlds. Someone shout one out, leave rs names, and we'll get down to action a.s.a.p. Definately hearing that advice on scheduling a one day a week for sure. I as well will be coming off membership soon and going to school in september, I hope the tradition of furnace team work will live on!! Long live the laborers!
