i like it, but i dont think fm needs anything new, pyre logs were all it neeeded i thnk...

awesome ideas, my fm is lvl 11, cause i figure there really is no point to it......... i mean, during what time is it absolutely imperative that u have a fire lit in the next 5 seconds?

the enjoyable training would be nice, though

insert witty sig

Perhaps what would be really useful would be something along the lines of forge fires. You could start a bonfire with high-level logs like magic or yew, then keep adding maple and willow, till you get like a little precent bar above the fire, then at 75% you can smelt bronze or iron in it. Then at 85% you could smelt steel, 90% mithril, 100% adamantine, and then use a massive dump of magic or yew would unlock rune smithing levels. At that point it'd be hot enough to scrap the coal on steel. It would have to be kept up of course with other logs. Forge fires could be available with the onset of willow logs, but would take forever to get up to forge levels. I'd totally do it just for that.

well i really wish they would do something to make fm more interesting bout not at such high levels  nice ideas tho :D

At lvl 80 firemaking, you could use tinderbox with dead tree or fallen tree. You character would go around (animation would take awhile) and light the tree on all of its sides. This would give you the exp. of 5 normal logs, but the main reason for this is to look cool anyway. You can not cook food on these fiery trees.

err whats the point in not being able to cook stuff on them?!?!?!?!

also, the xp of 5 normal logs at lvl 80???? do you know how many fallen trees your gonna have to set alight to get to the next level?

P.s i like the torch idea very good.... :)

  • Author

alright...I think you're right, and I will change that :P How about this: dead tree gives exp of 20 logs, and fallen tree gives exp of 40 (since they are harder to find)

Thats a better idea thanks for chaning it :D

what would be real cool if you could dip your bow while you had an arrow in it into the fire so it becomes a fire arrow and then you can attack a monster or player with it with increased damage.

Sup noobs.

yes, I too like the idea of making flaming arrows by using them with a fire; only thing is, they would eventually go out?

Old post, bumpity not!

MOD EDIT: Offensive text removed.

seems ok, except i don't like the idea of the lesser. Lesser deamons aren't really friend :P Maybe a fire elemental?

  • Author

yes, I like the idea of a fire elemental instead of a lesser....

Cheespie: I don't really see anything wrong with bumping an old post if it results in good feedback :P

quadruple post? never seen that before

Thats nothing. I saw one post spread over 3 pages from being repeated so much.

Different forms of firemaking would be cool, but it needs to be actually useful...

Like make a flaming stick that you can hit monsters to burn them (Like poison, they take continual damage.)

Was that on my post? If not, thats what happened to one of my posts....And it had loads of siggies on each post.....teh h0rr4 pl0z?

Kool Ideas though.

FOREST FIRE

i like the ideas, but the idea of lightin a sword, wud i look like a dragon long sp-atk or sumthin like that :?:

Im not agreed whit dropping ashes,

Because if u burn a tree, there will remaina tree stump, Unless u want the remove tree's out the data base,

Also i think this idea is dumb because u can take the time of getting logs,

as for the time of getting the logs.....you would get exp. when you did one of trhese fire-making options, just as much or more than if you had spent the time chopping and burning logs.

Eliis, i love the idea man, but has anyone mentioned to him shadepyres? Heh, members (after doing the shades of Mort'ton quest) can kill high level shades and burn their remains with certain logs. They eventually can drop up to rune (mage logs, 80 fm and killing a level 120 shade required)

Still, lessers are my homeboys, and I enjoy the idea of more fire on rs! FIRE GOOD!!!!

Only 27.. RIP Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, and Janice Joplin.

  • Author

yes.....that sounds like it might be a good idea. :) I am not p2p though, so I am not very in touch with the Shades of Mort'ton Quest

alot of these things are already created.....a torch and what not

I'd say generally the pricpal of making huge fires as training is quite pointless.

But Burning Weopans is a nice Idea:

|Logs |wcinglvl|weopan|lvltoburn|

|____________________________|

|normal|1 |Brozne |15 |

|oak |15 |steel |25 |

|willow |30 |mith |45 |

|maple |45 |addy |60 |

|yew |60 |rune |75 |

|magic |75 |dragon |99 |

U can "burn" weopans with the logs shown above or better.

(e.g. with maple logs u can burn anything except rune and dragon)

The weapans are indicated like (p), burnt: (e.g.Mithril longsword (B)).

Like Runecrafting, the higher your lvl the more effitient the burn,

the burn wears off after a while (either specific amount of damage or time)

the burn damages enemys like the ring of recoil.

This is generally a good principal, think about it it makes sence

I like your idea, Feuer; I think that for your idea to be successful, the weapon would run out of "burn" after a certain number of hits, instead of time. If it was time, merchants could not really sell them very well, whereas if they are by hits, they could be merchanted.

mayb the bonfires part yea but all the other stuff abount burning whole tree is rubbish
